Christian-Teen27
Okay, so this is my first post. I've been a Christian, almost all my life. I went to a Christian School in Preschool. And learned about Christ from their. Their are so many things I have questions about that I try to think about, but I never get an answer. So if anyone has an answer to any of these questions. Please answer. Thank you in advance.
And I also have a few prayer requests..

*********
Prayer Requests
*********
1. About a week ago, my friend's friend got in a car accident. He got glass in his head, and when he woke up he couldn't remember his family or friends. A few days later, he died. He was only 14. I just pray for his family to be able to make it through the ruff time. And my friend's other friend was the driver and he just broke a few bones. So I pray for him to get better, and not have the same thing happen. And he keeps saying he wished it would have been him that died, so I also pray that he doesn't go doing something stupid and try to kill himself thinking it will make everything better.

2. I'm going on a trip to Salem tomorrow, so I pray that the trip is good and the drive their is safe.

3. All the things happening at the end of school, its hecktic and stressful.

4. My grandma has alheimers, and is really close to dieing, so I pray that she doesn't die anytime soon, and that if she does she'll be with the Lord.

5. That life will get easier!

6. (Not really a prayer request) But I'm in a class full of guys, my school is very small. And all my friends went to a different school. And I can't go their because its like tripple the same ammount and we can't afford it. So I pray that I will be with them soon.

Questions

1. Anger is a sin, yet God was in the temple (sorry, I'm not an expert so correct me if I'm wrong) he through a fit, and got mad. So wouldn't he be sinning?

2. In my Bible workbook, my teacher tells us what to write down, and we have to study for it. Well it says that God remembers everything that you do. And then after it said all things have/will be forgotten. I just don't understand that, I may be wrong, and either heard it wrong and wrote it down wrong or something.

You don't have to take the time and read down below, its not really a question, but if you want to you can.

3. (Its more of a statment/question) You may think I'm weird for this or something. My friend lives in Cali now, so we have to talk on the computer, she use to go to school with me. Well anywase, a while ago, she was asking me if I like Shusi and stuff like that. I told her that I don't eat pork or sushi because it says not to in the Bible. She's a few months younger than me, occasionally she gets on my nerves, but I deal with it. (Atleast try) Anywase, she kept saying I was the only one that did that. She really never listens to me, and another one of my friends stood up for me. But called her a B and the one I fight with called my other friend a A so I took Chelsie's side (The one that stook up for me) because she was sticking up for me, and she's a way better friend, and I don't really even know her, anywase here's the question. Do you think I'm write about it? About the whole pork thing?

4. It mensions in the Bible, when we go to Heaven their will be no pain, no sorrow, no crying, etc., Well, of course their won't be, you are dead and can't feel anything. Right?

5. I'm not trying to get away from God or anything, theirs just a ton of things that I just can't understand. Like, How do you know that everything in the Bible is true? It wasn't but a couple years ago that their was written history right? Or did someone just have it written down or something? I just don't get it.

God is love. He has other emotions, such as anger, Joy, Happiness, grief.
His friend, Lazarus died, and Jesus (God) wept.

If I repent from my evil works, and turn toward God, and I do good works (help the poor, send Bibles to the Bible-less, etc), Jesus rejoices, and is happy.

If I rob the bank, and stop doing good works, Jesus is grieved, and is angry. Why is He angry? Think of all the people that are hurt when I sin!

The End-times are the time of God's Wrath (anger). We (the world's poulation) are (generally speaking) extremely wicked, we've hurt multitudes of people. And Jesus is angry at us.

Many of us are not sorry about our sins. A few of us (saved people) are repentant, we're sorry, we've asked God to forgive us. And we've turned from evil thoughts, words, and deeds ; and we've turned toward God and His Good thoughts, words, and deeds. We've brought forth fruit suitable for repentance. (Fruit = results of our labors. Romans 1;13 Amplified Bible).

Jesus made a whip made of 3 cords, and He drove the money-changers and the livestock out of the Temple. He scattered their coins on the floor, and overturned their tables. Did He hit someone with the whip? I don't know.
Why was He angry at the money-changers? They had turned God's "House of Prayer" into a den of theives, a common market-place. They were hindering God's program of salvation.

Jezebel, after the Resurrection, was teaching false teaching in the early Churches, and God killed her. God killed Annias and Sapphira. Why? They hurt many people with their false teaching. They lied to the Holy Spirit.

The Bible tells us: Anger and sin not.
So, apparently, it is possible for us to be angry (righteous anger).
Am I angry with evil people when they hurt us? Yes. Our anger is an expression of our faith and compassion. Anger can motivate us to faithful works (Hitler robbed many of their money, farms, homes, food. But we can work to help those that Hitler hurt. We can join the Army, and fight against Hitler)

Our good works, prayers, repentance, thoughts, words, speeches, posts, sermons, are expressions of our faith.

James 2;22 Amplified Bible
You see that his (Abraham's) faith was co-operating with his works, and his faith was completed and reached its supreme expression when he implemented it by good works.

Supreme expression, that's sounds pretty good!

You may be able to find the Amplified Bible at Bible Gateway.com, I think.
The Amplified is one of my favorite translations.

The Bible says: Present your bodies as living sacrifices.
King David said: I will not offer a sacrifice which costs me nothing.
Good Works are very costly to us. We work at helping the poor, instead of spending our time and labors on entertainment and luxuries for ourselves.

Anger can stir up dissension but according to what is implied in proverbs 29:22 only loosing your temper leads to sin. (An angry man stirs up dissension,
and a hot-tempered one commits many sins). Anger can be a precursor to that but not neccessarily a rule. Proverbs 30:33 say's stiring up anger produces strife.

But!....there is an anger called righteous indignation....This is what we feel when we witness certain forms of injustice and wicked acts. It should motivate us to become involved in opposing social and personal evils. Sometimes those things cloak themselves and we have to be very careful how we handle them or the devil will serve our heads up on a platter too.

Everybody get's angry. Nobody turns into a mature Christian over night. The anger that motivates most comes from resentment. It's when someone unjustly wrongs you and you don't deal with it. Here's one thing the Bible has to say about it.

"See to it that no one misses the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many". (Heb 12:15)

I can't remember where l heard this story but it's an example of word's spoken. It's like shaking the contents of a feather pillow into the wind and then going back to try and pick them all up again. I guess it's been used many times as a teaching tool concerning gaurding your tongue.

But then you have to ask...What is restoration? Can we ever be restored after we loose it and we're sorry?

We can in the Lord but it's really hard with people. They act like they forgive but they're churning inside. Communication is the key here. No....HONEST communication is the key. Once everyone has been honest about putting all their cards on the table don't belabor the point. Let it go.

My Pastor is such a precious example of this. You can tell when you look in someones eyes long enough if they are haboring a grudge. That's why l love it when l look in his eyes and see that he is honestly letting go of any misgiving there might have been between he and l or other people in the congregation. If anybody has to learn to let it go it's a pastor. I've learned (finally) over the years that somethings are worth laying out on the table and others are not. But it's taken many mistakes to get there. Even on this forum.

What's the greater good? Pray in honesty to the Lord about your anger. Allow yourself some holy grief...then forgive it. And try to forget it like my pastor does.
Miki
Here's what l think about the pork thing. You can eat anything you want but if it causes someone else to sin don't do it. (at least in front of them)

What the more important point is, is the value you place on friendships. Is the issue worth the division among friends? Taking sides is for kids. You're a teen now.

I haven't eaten beef for 30 years. I never eat sushi but occasionaly have bacon. But I don't like big slabs of pink pork on my plate. It's not a religious thing. Just a preference. I'd suggest you use that as your reasoning point rather than the Bible say's not to because God gave permission to eat those things. He also said that it's what comes out of a man that defiles him...not what goes in.

biggrin.gif tongue.gif smile.gif Have a great day in the Lord and love your friends!

Dennis and Miki answered your questions very well. Be sure to read everything they said; especially since they used Scripture to back up their statements.

One question I don't think they answered was your #2 question: "In my Bible workbook, my teacher tells us what to write down, and we have to study for it. Well it says that God remembers everything that you do. And then after it said all things have/will be forgotten. I just don't understand that, I may be wrong, and either heard it wrong and wrote it down wrong or something."

God sees and remembers all. Here's just one passage in Isa 46:9 -
Remember the former things of old: for I [am] God, and [there is] none else; [I am] God, and [there is] none like me,

What He doesn't "remember" are our sins. His Word says in Isa 43:25 -
I am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.

I can see that this sounds conflicting, but it is not. It's not that God gets a memory lapse, but by being covered by the blood of Jesus he blots out our transgressions.

The internet sites that have bibles on them can aid you in your homework, and so will a concordance. Do a word search on "remember" and you'll be able to find several more than I just quoted. (I access the blue letter bible at:)

http://www.blueletterbible.org/

I hope this helps.

Here is another resource you may also find helpful:

http://www.e-sword.net/features.html

The site says, "e-Sword is feature rich and user friendly. This combination is what I pursued, and as such there were decisions I had to make when implementing various features. If a feature became too complicated for anyone other than a software engineer to use, then I abandoned the design in favor of keeping things simple. The $500.00 software packages might be able to do more "things", but does the average user know how to take advantage of them? No! Below you'll find a list of features that you will discover makes the study of God's Word both enjoyable and enriching. "

1. Anger is a sin, yet God was in the temple (sorry, I'm not an expert so correct me if I'm wrong) he through a fit, and got mad. So wouldn't he be sinning?

As the others have already pointed out... anger is not a sin in and of itself.

And to add on to the story... Jesus sat down and made a whip. Have you ever thought about that? He actually sat down and braided a whip. That had to take some time.
QUOTE(Christian-Teen27)
2. In my Bible workbook, my teacher tells us what to write down, and we have to study for it. Well it says that God remembers everything that you do. And then after it said all things have/will be forgotten. I just don't understand that, I may be wrong, and either heard it wrong and wrote it down wrong or something.

God knows everything... however, He promised to forget our sins:
Psalm 103:11-13
11For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him;
12as far as the east is from the west,
so far does he remove our transgressions from us.
13As a father shows compassion to his children,
so the LORD shows compassion to those who fear him.

I think that may have been what your teacher was talking about.
QUOTE(Christian-Teen27)
Do you think I'm write about it? About the whole pork thing?

I believe you have your belief based off of these verses:
Leviticus 11:4-31
However, Jesus later changed this and declared that we can eat all foods:
Mark 7:14-23
14And he called the people to him again and said to them, "Hear me, all of you, and understand: 15There is nothing outside a person that by going into him can defile him, but the things that come out of a person are what defile him." 17And when he had entered the house and left the people, his disciples asked him about the parable. 18And he said to them, "Then are you also without understanding? Do you not see that whatever goes into a person from outside cannot defile him, 19since it enters not his heart but his stomach, and is expelled?" (Thus he declared all foods clean.) 20And he said, "What comes out of a person is what defiles him. 21For from within, out of the heart of man, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, 22coveting, wickedness, deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride, foolishness. 23All these evil things come from within, and they defile a person."

I don't think it's wrong to eat pork (or any animal for that matter) based on Mark 7, and Romans 14 (as well as other verses)...
But... if you still feel convicted that it is wrong... then don't eat it because it would be wrong for you to eat it:
Romans 14:13-14
13Therefore let us not pass judgment on one another any longer, but rather decide never to put a stumbling block or hindrance in the way of a brother. 14I know and am persuaded in the Lord Jesus that nothing is unclean in itself, but it is unclean for anyone who thinks it unclean.

QUOTE(Christian-Teen27)
4. It mensions in the Bible, when we go to Heaven their will be no pain, no sorrow, no crying, etc., Well, of course their won't be, you are dead and can't feel anything. Right?

Well, sort of. There will be no pain because God will create a place for us where pain does not exist. I don't remember where those verses are... hopefully someone else can post them.
QUOTE(Christian-Teen27)
5. I'm not trying to get away from God or anything, theirs just a ton of things that I just can't understand. Like, How do you know that everything in the Bible is true? It wasn't but a couple years ago that their was written history right? Or did someone just have it written down or something? I just don't get it.

No, history has been recorded for at least 2000 years (actually, it's more than that)... that is how we are able to have history classes.
But... to answer the question "How do we know the Bible is true"... I know this answer is probably not what you're looking for... but it takes faith.

God, the righteous judge is able to shew forth His righteous indignation as it fits perfectly within His redemptive plan, for His thoughts are not our thoughts.

Hi there, I did not read every post on this board so please forgive me if I repeat any anwers you may have gotten.

QUOTE

"In your anger do not sin": Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry,
- Ephesians 4:26

Righteous anger is not a sin. Jesus was angry because the Jews had broken Gods laws. For example, it's OK to be angry when you see injustice.

QUOTE

"I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more.
- Isaiah 43:25

When God "forgets" your sins He doesn't really fail to remember them in the future. He simply chooses not to remember them.

"Are you so dull?" he asked. "Don't you see that nothing that enters a man from the outside can make him 'unclean'? For it doesn't go into his heart but into his stomach, and then out of his body." (In saying this, Jesus declared all foods "clean.")
He went on: "What comes out of a man is what makes him 'unclean.'
- Mark 7:18-20

You see? You are doing exactly what Jesus says in this passage. You are controlling what goes into your mouth but not controlling the words that come out of your mouth. Set your priorities.

QUOTE
4. It mensions in the Bible, when we go to Heaven their will be no pain, no sorrow, no crying, etc., Well, of course their won't be, you are dead and can't feel anything. Right?

In reply Jesus declared, "I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again."
"How can a man be born when he is old?" Nicodemus asked. "Surely he cannot enter a second time into his mother's womb to be born!"
Jesus answered, "I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit.
- John 3:3-6

In heaven you will not be dead. You will be more alive than ever before. Of course, the only way to get to heaven is to give your life to Jesus.

First of all, we don't KNOW the bible is true. As Christians we believe and have faith that the bible is the inerrant and inspired Word of God. The proof we have for the bibles accuracy, however, is pretty impressive. I won't go into too much detail (I'd probably put you to sleep) but here are a couple of examples.*The account of the biblical story of the creation of the earth fits exactly with scientific evidence (regardless of what your teachers might say).
*The bible said the earth floated in space long before scientists did. (Job 26:7)
*The innummerable prophesies that were foretold in the bible that have come true.

I hope this helps you out.
