One day, a poor boy who was selling goods from door to door to pay his way through school, found he had only one thin dime left, and he was hungry.

He decided he would ask for a meal at the next house. However, he lost his nerve when a lovely young woman opened the door.

Instead of a meal he asked for a drink of water! . She thought he looked hungry so brought him a large glass of milk. He drank it so slowly, and then asked, How much do I owe you?"

You don't owe me anything," she replied. "Mother has taught us never to accept pay for a kindness."

He said ... "Then I thank you from my heart."

As Howard Kelly left that house, he not only felt stronger physically, but his faith in God and man was strong also. He had been ready to give up and quit.

Many year's later that same young woman became critically ill. The local doctors were baffled. They finally sent her to the big city, where they called in specialists to study her rare disease.

Dr. Howard Kelly was called in for the consultation. When he heard the name of the town she came from, a strange light filled his eyes.

Immediately he rose and went down the hall of the hospital to her room.

Dressed in his doctor's gown he went in to see her. He recognized her at once.

He went back to the consultation room determined to do his best to save her life. From that day he gave special attention to her case.

After a long struggle, the battle was won.

Dr. Kelly requested the business office to pass the final bill to him for approval. He looked at it, then wrote something on the edge and t he bill was sent to her room. She feared to open it, for she was sure it would take the rest of her life to pay for it all. Finally she looked, and something caught her attention on the side of the bill. She read these words ...

"Paid in full with one glass of milk"

(Signed) Dr. Howard Kelly.

Tears of joy flooded her eyes as her happy heart prayed: "Thank You,
God, that Your love has spread broad through human hearts and hands."

There's a saying which goes something like this: Bread cast on the waters comes back to you. The good deed you do today may benefit you or someone you love at the least expected time. If you never see the deed again at least you will have made the world a better place - And, after all, isn't that what life is all about?

What a great story. I truly believe that good deeds have a way of getting repaid, not always directly but it is so true, you reap what you sow.

My Testimony today 2/6....TY Jesus! Psalm 23 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. My cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Truly, I feel like I am stepping into the realization of who He is to me, and enjoying Him, enjoying everything about Him. I am His beloved and He has provided well. He has left no stone unturned in providing the best as we serve Him. Just revelling in the wonder of who He is to me.

Reaping & Sowing - con't
Remember, God’s promise to Abram was that he would be HEIR or POSSESSOR of the WORLD. Now what exactly was the BLESSING pronounced by Melchizedek? “And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of God Most High, POSSESSOR of heaven and earth. And blessed be God Most High, who hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand.” (Gen.14:19-20)

So here we see that the Most High POSSESSOR covenanted to make Abraham and his seed POSSESSORS! And what is it that the seed is to POSSESS? “Ask of Me, and I will give thee the nations for thine inheritance, And the uttermost parts of the earth for thy POSSESSION.” (Psalms 2: Even after his name was changed to Abraham, he did not see the ultimate fulfillment of this promise. The fulfillment of this promise comes in the Seed of Abraham- the many-membered, RE-membered Body of Christ.

The story was so good! Because....An act, deed done from a pure heart, moved by the pure stream of God(Holy Spirit) for example: a hug, a cup of water, will release Him to do that which only He can do and that which began with Him from the beginning, in that the act was inspired by Him Who is Love, Light and Life. Why do we limit Him by our own `thinking' of what He can do, how He can do it, and when He can do it? He'll not be boxed by the thought's of men. As one brother said `I think we're all going to be in for a surprise.' So, just let the LOVE FLOW. LET IT FLOW! LET IT FLOW! LET IT FLOW!

Hos 8:7 NKJV
"They sow the wind, and reap the whirlwind .

Job 4:8-9 NKJV
Even as I have seen, those who plow iniquity and sow trouble reap the same.
By the blast of God they perish, and by the breath of His anger they are consumed.

Gal 6:7-8 NKJV
Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life

i really enjoyed reading your post. It just proves what we say to one person might change that outlook on any situation they might have or change the way they look at life. As Jesus set an example for all we must continue to set examples of how he wants us to be as christians.

Sweet story... Somehow it brought tears to my eyes. It is true, though, a kindness given will always be repaid.

Cowboy, welcome to the Forum. It's nice to meet you. It's a good place to be, and I hope you enjoy the fellowship with fellow Christians as much as I do. May the Lord bless you.

Each and every one of us brings our portion of Christ (as we share Him with each other) to the banqueting table! What a smorgasborg. At a natural smorgasborg, you don't have to partake of everything; but, in the spiritual it is the same! However, the more you eat - the more of Christ you get! Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good.

welcome to the love FEAST

Mary Clark
February 11, 2006

feast – banquet: spread, dinner, extensive meal, buffet
gorge - eat, devour, gobble up, indulge

I want you to know that I have prepared a fine feast for you, beloved. It is a feast fit for a King and His family. Look forward to devouring this feast, knowing that it was prepared by the One Who loves you, the One Who looks on your heart with an eye to heal and correct.

Hear the word of the Lord God Almighty:

I have prepared a fine feast for you, beloved. It is most delectable. I want you to regard this feast time with the Beloved as a holy time, a time set apart for us to celebrate, and celebrate we most certainly will! But what I want to talk to you about today, beloved, is your feasts, the feasts that you consume every day. Don’t you know that gluttony is sinful in the eyes of your Maker? Don’t you know that the results of gluttony are not good; they are detrimental to your well-being?

Know this: It is not My desire to see My children feasting day in and day out. It is My desire to see you have times of celebration. It is My desire to see you enjoy your daily repasts, but limit yourself, beloved, limit yourself to the things that bring life and health to your bodies.

You were created to walk in the knowledge of My love for you. You were created to enjoy your life. You were not created to indulge yourself day in and day out with the dainties of life. You were created to exist on those things that would bring life and health to you, offering to you the wherewithal to travel through this life on the path that I have selected for your feet. This is a good path, dear one. It is a path that is beneficial to one following after the heart of the living God.

I want you to know that I take delight in seeing you celebrate. I take delight in knowing that I have provided well for My dear children. You have variety and you have plenty. But, beloved, beloved, limit yourself! Eat those portions that bring health to your body. Don’t indulge yourself far beyond what is good for you. Eat those things that are good for you in quantities that are likewise good for you.

This is advice that you must take to heart. This is advice that I would enjoy seeing you follow – follow to the nth degree.

Beloved, beloved, I am not trying to rain on your parade. It pleases Me greatly that you are delighted with the gifts that I have given to you, the quantity and quality of food that I have created for your enjoyment. I just want you to heed My voice, follow My lead, and limit yourself to that portion that is right, right in the eyes of your God, right in the eyes of one who has seen fit to live according to the will of the living God.

Go ahead! Have your feasts. I will celebrate with you! But, beloved, remember these very appropriate words: Every day is not to be a feast day. Limit yourself. Follow My lead. Enjoy your life, but enjoy it by using a little restraint, limiting yourself and following the lead of My Spirit when you find yourself at the banquet table. Know this: I take delight in one who chooses to follow My example. I take delight in knowing that My beloved longs to please My heart, by following the path that I have selected. I want you to know that your self-control will bring happiness to your heart. Your body will thank you, and those around you will thank you for using the necessary restraint, refusing to indulge yourself to the point of gluttony!!!
