Full Version: A Beautiful Rainbow

I had a dream about a beautiful rainbow. I was at my Grandma's house and looked outside and saw a HUGE rainbow. The colors were very distinct and it stretched across the horizon. I saw it and said to myself that God did this and I was reminded of the story of Noah.

Upon awakening, I reviewed the flood story in my mind for a few minutes. I remember that the rainbow is a sign of God's covenant to Noah that He would never flood the Earth again.

So, is God giving me a sign?

Although God's specific promise was that He'd never flood the earth like that again - my 'interpretation has been - since the dream I had with a rainbow in it - that it signifies God's Promises...all of them - to us Christians and any one (including the Jews) who believe in the One True God

Having said that - this is what the usual site I go to when I've no idea at all and want a basic piece of information from which I can extrapolate - says:

Rainbow
To see a rainbow in your dream, signifies much hope, success and good fortune in the form of money, prestige, or fame. The rainbow is a bridge between your earthly, grounded self and the higher, spiritual self.

For lovers to see a rainbow, symbolizes overwhelming happiness from their union.

Just my two cents, I'd be careful about utilizing any info about dreams and their interpretaions from any worldly sources. Too much Freudian type stuff there. Again, just my two cents.
MadMikkie
I agree - which is why - although I use them - I tend to go with what hits that 'spot' that 'just knows' - if you kow what I mean. I said my interp before I looked up the worldly meaning - and I try to do that every time I use them

could be that the Lord is saying He never forgets his promises, even to prior generations....He will fulfill His Word.

Yes, of course...

The rainbow is a symbol of His promise...and it is the language of coming into
covenant walk...that He, indeed, is leading your life...that He has a plan for you
that is for good, not for evil, and for an expected end. Laying down our will for
His will takes alot of growth and maturity...and childlike faith, that has been
tested to withstand trials...and the end product is something beautiful to behold,
in the eye of God...you!

Noah is also a symbol of one righteous man that was given the responsiblity of
bringing creation...the animals and all, in the ark, and wait out the flood...and
from His obedience... his life was blessed, sorta a second chance for creation...
a type and foreshadowing of Jesus, too. Funny, I was standing in the bank today
when a story of someone building an ark came on...i didn't get to hear it
all, but I think it was a child...maybe it will be on the news later... I have been
thinking about this all day...

This also make me think of timing...we live in chronos...and in the spirit is kairos
where actually there is no time, for God is the same yesterday, today and forever.
It makes me think of His transcending the limitations of time and circumstance...when
God moves in our midst and His presence does what we cannot...

This really blessed me signet.

On April 1st, I stood outside looking in awe at a beautiful rainbow that was right in front of me. It was beautiful... almost too beautiful to be real.

I knew that the Lord was saying something about promises.

wub.gif Thank you.

I believe that rainbows are not only a sign of God's promise, but also a symbol of his everlasting love and faithfulness. He so loves us that he gave us not only a sign of his promise but an awesomely beautiful heavenly affirmation of his promise.
flyingsquirrel
based on my personal experience the rainbow represents God's salvation after a time of trouble and great distress, noah went throught a lot before he got to see the rainbow.

This just gets better and better!
