Many new hearts will begin to beat. Otherwise the chastisement would be wrath. He chastises those he loves for a purpose. That's my belief and hope and it doesn't disagree with Scripture. Funny God shows us things that are already in scripture? I guess just to let us know that he acknowledges us in the here and now...
I believe the same! I was thinking for myself and was going to tell fervent about something like this, that we no longer have to be scared for the chastisement that we receive and the problems we go through, because it is there for us to grow, not to knock us down like it used to when we didn't believe that God was on our side. It seems terrible when in the midst of the storm, but afterwards we realize that we were safe all along and that He did a mighty work for us to get through that storm stronger than we were before it.
I know that's not scriptural support, but I think it's what God has shown me recently. When we ask to strengthen our faith, it can only be strengthend by belief in Him when it seems that we shouldn't believe in Him. So we should expect troubles and simply stand strong and become stronger. Yesterday I read in my daily bible about Jesus speaking of the house built on the rock, that after the storm it still stands.
