When does the wrath of God begin during the tribulation? What Event or sign signals that it has begun? What is the sign or event that the wrath of God is over?...............................................benny cool.gif

This is a misleading question. The wrath of God comes after the tribulation not during it. The Great Tribulation is represented by the 5th seal and is described as the little season when martyrs are killed.

Rev 6:9 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: 10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? 11 And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.

Then the great event or signal which occurs to mark the transition of the day of Man to the day of the Lord is revealed at the sixth seal.
Rev 6:12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; 13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, [3] when she is shaken of a mighty wind. 14 And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. 15 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; 16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: 17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

Notice the great day of his wrath comes beginning with the heavenly signs. It does not come during the 5th seal of the great tribulation.
The heavenly signs whilst bringing terror to the world bring encouragement to us for we know from these powerful signs that our redemption draws nigh.
Luke 21:25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; 26 Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. 27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

Our redemption refers to the redeeming of our bodies Rom 8:23 (as we know our souls have already been redeemed) which occurs at the resurrection (spuriously called the rapture by some) 1 Cor 15 51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
So do we not therefore learn that we have not been raptured until AFTER the heavenly signs. And have we not also previously learned that the heavenly signs do not appear until AFTER the great tribulation?
Matt 24:29 Immediately [b]after[/] the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:

The seventh seal is the day of the Lord which includes the trumpet plagues, the return of Christ and the seven last plagues. So terrible is this revelation of Gods wrath and the day of the Lord that there was silence in heaven for half an hour so shocked and devastated were those who witnessed the vision of it.
Rev 8:1 And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour. 2 And I saw the seven angels which stood before God; and to them were given seven trumpets

So hopefully I have convinced you that the signs of which you speak occur AFTER the tribulation and not DURING. And hopefully I have convinced you that the wrath of God of which you speak occur AFTER the tribulation and not DURING.

Hopefully you will not avoid answering my points by making a statement like "Well I see you are set in your opinion" as you did with my last set of posts.

Question,.....What is the idenity of the 24 elders?.................................benny cool.gif

Not sure how this relates to the wrath of God or how you feel about my previous lengthy post but anyway I'll answer your question even though I know that it is the standard question designed to trip up posttribbers. How disappointing of you to avoid all my previous posts, make no explanation of them in support of your pretrib position and instead seek to distract with furfies.

I have no need to avoid questions however so I will answer yours.
I believe that they are angelic beings which have positions of rulership (hence the crowns).
I believe that in Rev 4 they are relinquishing these positions in favour of men who will assume these positions after they are resurrected. I believe that the angels have known about this for a long time and may be why Satan rebelled and shows such hatred to men because he is not willing to relinquish power and authority.

I am very confident that these are angelic beings because it fits better with the whole scene with the four angelic beasts. Also in Rev 5:8 they have harps which have long been associated with angels. They also hold the prayers of the saints in golden vials which distinguishes them from the saints. I admit that the rest about the crowns is conjecture.

The awkward part about this theory is Rev 5:9 where they sing a new song.
Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; 10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.

These are definitely the words of men, but remember that they are holding the prayers of the saints. To me this means that the 24 elders give voice and personify the prayers of the saints before God for the purpose of praise and worship of God. To add weight to this view the 4 angelic beasts also sing this song and nobody is suggesting that they are men.

NASB also adds weight to this theory where it says
"And they sang a new song, saying, "Worthy are You to take the book and to break its seals; for You were slain, and purchased for God with Your blood men from every tribe and tongue and people and nation 10 You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God; and they will reign upon the earth."

Thereby distinguishing the 24 elders from men.

In any event how does this help the pretrib cause. Can the pretribber say that the pretrib rapture has already occurred to enable the 24 elders to be before the throne? If so we have all been left behind. Or perhaps pretribbers would like to suggest that there are multiple raptures of saints into heaven just as they claim there are multiple second comings of Christ.

The great tribulation begins with the Lord's two prophets coming into their ministry wearing sackcloth. Being rejected by the churches that the Lord sends them to.
After many young men of their congregation have been removed by fire who tried to lay hands on them to throw them out of their church, The prophets will speak to the sky and order it to withhold it's rain and weather from the earth for the remainder of their ministry. This is the first sign that the general public will see of the great tribulation.
The finality of the great tribulation is seventy five days after the prophets finish their ministry. The sign that it is over is when the Lord comes and resurrects and catches away His army of saints. In the twinkling of an eye, as the lightning that shines from one part under heaven to the other part under heaven and They fly out and brings the lake of unquenchable fire down on the heads of the enemy.
