I often wonder why they think that children need such stuff. Children are the most resiliant of us all. Warm, caring, nurturing, loving Christian led guidance is pretty much the only thing these kids need, in my humble opinion. NOT DOPE. My youngest sister is now 16 and was 'mis-diagnosed' with ADD for most of her life. They had her on Ritalin for years. She was finally correctly diagnosed as having Aspberger's Disorder, a mild form of autisism. She is now on Concerta, which is nothing compared to Ritalin, and she needs that less and less each day. I think she could do well without it entirely. Although she is immature for her age, she acts like a 12 year old

, she is intellectually advanced, and scored in the 97% for sciences and maths on her last SAT. She was published internationally when she was 12 with her poetry. Some people think that it's a shame that she is not as 'mature' as she should be, but it is such a blessing!!! How many 16 year old girls does one know of these days that like being at home with their family, has little interest in boys, does well in school, has no desire to get a car and run around, and has little regard for the immoral actions of teen 'pop-stars'? She is a joy and a blessing.
The doctors and teachers 'tut-tut' kids like her, when kids like her make parenting and sibling-hood so much fun, as they do not know what she is like around the house. She gets along with her school mates better each year and her future is bright, especially now that she confesses Jesus. AMEN.
I'll keep you in my prayers, Kim, along with your young charge.
In Christ, Angela
