The disciples asked Jesus , What signs would signal the nearness of His Return and the End of the world?
The first Sign He gave them was RELIGIOUS DECEPTION: “Take heed that no man DECEIVE you” (Matthew 24;4). His reply came as a warning. He went on to explain the nature of the DECEPTION, repeating this first and most important Sign three times:
“For many shall come in My Name, saying I am Christ; and shall DECEIVE many……..And many false prophets shall rise, and shall DECEIVE many……..For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great Signs and Wonders, insomuch that , if it were possible, they shall DECEIVE the very elect. Behold, I have told [warned] you before (verses 5,11,24,25, emphasis added)”
Obviously , Christ’s warning is not about atheists or rank unbelievers or leaders of some opposing non-Christian religion. There is no DECEIPT involved in such frontal assaults. Christ’s warning is about a deception which is all the more subtle because it comes from within the church---and IN HIS NAME!

Jude 4
Amplified bible
For certain men have crept in stealthily---gaining entrance secretly by a side door. Their doom was predicted long ago, (impious, profane) un-godly persons who pervert the grace of our God into lawlessness and wantonness and immorality……….
Where did these men creep into? …………into the Church!
Matthew 7;22
Men who appear to be Christian Ministers will say “Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy Name, and in thy Name have cast out devils, and in thy Name done many wonderful works?
These men (and women) are doing “signs and wonders” in Jesus’ name, yet , they are wicked.
They’re not on the Lord’s side. They are on Satan’s side. Doing Signs and Wonders by Satan’s power.
Pharoah’s magicians could duplicate the Signs and Wonders of God, up to a point. But, God was able to out-do the miracles of satan. (2 Timothy 3;1,7,8)
These magicains were occultists. Their power was from Satan.
The power of God was displayed through the ministry of Moses.
And God won a victory over satan.
Many men have a great lust for excitement, money, health, wealth, applause, admiration, and power. This is a major problem in the Charismatic movement. They denigrate Biblical doctrine, and court Satan’s occult powers to perform Signs and Wonders.
…………
On TBN, Benny Hinn used super-natural power to entertain the audience. Hinn touched a man’s forehead, and the man’s wig flew off as he fell “under the power”. The man pulled the wig back on, a bit askew, and got up. Hinn touched him again JUST TO SEE HIM FALL AND THE WIG FALL OFF. Hinn did this FIVE TIMES, laughing impishly. Paul and Jan Crouch were laughing uproariously.
Was this God’s power on display, the Holy Spirit at work?
Surely not! Then what power caused the man to fall repeatedly, this strange force that Hinn claims to have picked up at the graves of Kathryn Kuhlman and Aimee Semple McPherson?

We will
all be judged...some for loose lips others for pointing fingers. Who are God's prophets? The Holy Spirit works through any source he wants. He works through the hand grasp to an old dead stick.

He wins victory after victory if our hearts are humble and steadfast with resolve...to receive a blessing from the Lord. No matter if we walk away limping and leaning on a pole.
Dennis God can over rule anyone for his purpose...even the crudest vessel. If you judge a mere vessel then all that is poured through will be tainted by that judgement. The truth is..he uses things for his Glory. Donkeys, hungry dogs and red birds. He can coo through anything he wants. That's why he's the judge. It's our job to teach truth..then the lies will fall in behind us.

PAGE 485
MANY false prophets will arise and will deceive MANY.
(I’m emphasizing MANY)
Christ is not describing something small. The false revival will be world-wide.
Bill Bright and Pat Robertson exult that we are experiencing “the most extraordinary time of revival in the history of the Church”. Others describe it similarly. Unfortunately, what they praise is characterized by a neglect of sound doctrine and tolerance for false prophets. Such gullibility and the rejection of biblical guidance open the door to the occult.
Many televangelists have made false prophecies, yet their followers ignore the errors.
The Hinns, Hagins, Copelands, et al are well–known for making false prophecies.
The Bible tells us “If a man makes one false prophecy, he is not a prophet from God.”
For 3 years Paul warned the Ephesian elders night and day with tears that EVEN SOME OF THEM would speak “perverse things to draw away disciples after them” (Acts 20;28-31)
The Saints of God walk in the Light. Christ is “the Light of the world”.
The non-saints walk in darkness. So, it may be possible, that some false prophets think that they are serving God in good faith.
Norman Vincent Peale promotes the “Power of Positive Thinking”. Robert Schuller re-named it “the power of Possibility Thinking”. Napolean Hill calls it “The Magic Power of Belief”.
Many Charismatics preach "Positive Confession".
Three famous techniques of Occultists are :
1. Thinking of what you want, and it will happen (magically).
2. Speak of what you want, and it will happen (magically).
3. Visualize what you want, and it will appear (magically).
Magic is a code-word for the Occult, Satan-power.
Oral Roberts promises “PROSPERITY MIRACLES” for those who take advantage of the hundredfold return. This is typical of many televangelists.
Jude 11 tells us that they are running “greedily after the error of Balaam for reward”.
Compare this to Hebrews 11, the “Heroes of Faith” chapter. Many Heroes of faith have been persecuted, ruined, stoned, sawn asunder, thrown to the lions, etc, yet they are commended as Heroes of Faith. They never “got rich”. Perhaps, they should have confessed, “I’m perfectly healthy and healthy”, as they were being “sawn asunder”.
This “Positive Confession” is very dangerous and hurt-ful to the Saints, as each sick-and-hurting-Saint will question their faith if they’re not healthy and wealthy.
Paul told Timothy to “use a little wine for your many stomach-illnesses”. Paul failed to tell Tim, “Confess that you are Healthy!” (a little sarcasm)
No-one goes to the Toronto laughing revival or to the Pensacola revival to hear Biblical exegesis (interpretation); They go there to EXPERIENCE what they call “a fresh touch of the Holy Spirit”. And how does one know such a touch has been received? Only by FEELINGS and by PHYSICAL manifestations, often of the most bizarre kind.
Televangelists are not the only false teachers. Even in my own Sunday School, 5 years ago, my neighbor (the Teacher) said: “It’s impossible to get cleaned up (repentance from sin) when we get initial salvation. Come to Christ, get born-again, and later, Christ will clean you up”.
……..But, the Truth is: Repentance is before, or at the same time as, salvation. Christ does not save un-repentant people.

but wicked men and imposters will go on from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.
verse 11
Paul endured persecutions at Antioch, Iconium, Lystra
(Paul should have confessed "I'm fine.......I'm healthy and wealthy) (sarcasm)
verse 12
all who delight in piety and are determined to live a devoted and godly life in Christ Jesus will meet with persecution---that is , will be made to suffer because of their religious stand
(or, as an alternative, you can just confess "I'm fine, I'm Healthy and wealthy) (sarcasm)
verse 13
imposters?
(a deceiver under a false character)
What is their deceipt? Are they denying the Truth of verse 12? Are they saying that Christians will not suffer persecution?

Satan is the Deceiver.
Satan told Eve "You can be as God " (Genesis 3;5)
In "Positive Confession". the false teachers tell God (or the gods/demons) what to do.
In Biblical prayer, we (Saints) "ask" (supplication) God for what we want, and God considers our "request".
Many occult practices and false religions/cults/heresies echo the GREAT LIE that Satan told Eve "You can be as Gods".
Gloria Copeland tells how she learned to take authority over money and COMMAND it to come to her "In Jesus' Name".
God is the great COMMANDER. We are the ones whom He commands.
He (Jesus, God) is the Bridegroom. We are the Bride.
The Bride does not COMMAND the Groom to do anything.

But, he's never mentioned a specific denomination that he endorses.
He is considered an expert about many things: false teachers, cults, the occult, false religions, psychology, belief in ET's amd Martians, UFOs, evolution, perversions of Christianity (Mormonism, JWs, etc), demon possession,
He is vocal about THE "proof" that the Bible is True: Fulfilled Prophecy.
********
I add another "proof" that the Bible is True: No religion, scripture, person, philosophy, etc ever came close to matching the Quality and Quantity of the Extreme Love found in Jesus and the Bible.

You have to ask, if the Holy Spirit is already dwelling in these people, why would they need 'a fresh touch'?
As to your Sunday school teacher, I can't believe he actually threw this out! The unrepentant don't even want salvation, how can they receive it? I'm in agreement with you, Dennis, repentance does come before or at the same time as salvation.

I googled "powerful occult techniques".
I found this website
Biblical Discernment Ministries.
http://www.rapidnet.com/~jbeard/bdm/exposes/cho/general.htmvery fascinating reading about Yongi Cho, the leader of the world's largest church, in Korea
the church was built upon health and wealth prosperity gospel, Shamanism, and powerful occult techniques, such as Positive Confession and Visualization.
***
on page 56 of today's (this month's) "Seventeen" magazine (my daughters read it), i found a "how-to" guide for success, self-improvement, stress-relief, etc
1. breath-control (inhale for 5 seconds, exhale for 10 seconds)
2. meditation and visualize pleasant surroundings and experiences
3. repeat a mantra (I am successful..........I am peaceful)
breath-control, meditation to empty the mind of rational thought, positive thoughts, positive confession, and visualization are classic occult techniques as per Dave Hunt.
Why would "Seventeen" magazine be preaching occult techniques to my daughters? Because the occult gets RESULTS! The occult has super-natural powers.
And the occult has an advantage over Jesus: With Jesus , you must repent and believe/obey the Bible.
With the occult, the demons are happy to "bless" you with goodies even if you are sinful, selfish, wicked.
dennis mann
Jan 10 2007, 06:31 AM
Another advantage that the occult has over jesus:
The demons will perform "on command", if you do the correct "technique", to beckon their help.
Jesus will not perform "on command" , unless He wants to, and there are no "techniques" that will "compel" Him to act for us.
We must "wait upon the Lord".
Daniel waited 3 weeks for God to answer his prayer.
When paul was ship-wrecked, stoned, beaten, persecuted, naked, hungry, etc,..........Paul did not "compel" Jesus (or the demons) to calm the sea, stop the stonings, quell riots, multiply bread and fishes, etc.
Jesus was/is God, so,......He doesn't have to "wait upon God".
We are not Gods, so there are no super-natural powers within us, other than the Holy Spirit of Jesus. And Jesus doesn't take commands from us.
Demons do take commands from the occultists. The demons are happy to lead us away from God, Bible, Biblical prayer, etc..
Biblical prayer is NOT telling God what to do. It is asking God for something (supplication, a request).
Almost every time that men have contact with the occult, the demons repeat some variation of the GREAT LIE that the Serpent told Eve in the Garden of Eden:::::::::"You can be as Gods!"
This climb up to power/authority/God-hood is very enticing to men.
Notice that televangelists (and others) have GREAT POWER, but, often, it's satan-power.
Jesus said "Many are called, but Few are chosen".
"Many walk the broad road to destruction, and Few take the narrow path to everlasting life".
Matthew 7;21-24
Notice that obedience to God's Will and the commands of Christ is REQUIRED for us to enter the kingdom of heaven.
Which contradicts OSAS, as taught by many ministers.

Much of Paul's Scripture was "correcting error".

when you order a hamburger , the waiter brings you a hamburger.
when you "speak" (order) a good thing , the universe will deliver that good thing to you.
when you SPEAK a bad thing, the universe will bring it to you.
so, if you say "i'll never find a good job, (or spouse, etc)", it becomes your future, because you spoke it.

My thoughts.........March 6 , 2007
I think, (maybe) i've figured out "how is it that no-one can make war with the a/c"?
All the a/c has to do is:
He can just wave his arm across Africa, and all people and animals in Africa will fall down, paralized, "slain in the Spirit", just like Benny Hinn does on Christian TV.
Then, he can turn to the West, and all people in the Americas will fall down , paralized, and "slain".
He can do this to the whole world!
He will be the "Benny Hinn on Steroids".
Angels and Fallen Angels are far more powerful than men.
Being "slain in the Spirit" is not by God's power. It's not Biblical. It's a super-natural gimmick, used by satan to titilate, entertain, deceive, ..........it's carnal, earthly, dusty, satanic.

I agree signet
Billy Graham was quoted once saying that you don't have to believe in Jesus to be saved (correct me if I'm wrong here). He was once a very good preacher, but he became "ecumenical" in his thinking later (if he wasn't always that way). I'm sure Signet did not mean it as a personal attack against the man, but his background...he is a freemason, and that is what freemasons believe, that there are many paths to God.
The one thing that should be understood in all of this though is that Paul was glad for those who preached Jesus even if they had other motivations. God will use it for his purposes, but we still need to be vigilant in pointing out error. Paul said that we will judge the angels, so we have a responsibility to stay on top of matters within the body of Christ. Any thing less is neglect.

Miki and Signet,
This is how wars start. Insults being traded which grow gradually in intensity until hateful things are being said. This is not the way of a Christian. A christian must take upon himself the burden and pain of insult and not react. "A soft answer turns away wrath"
I regularly expose the corruptions of the NWO and am not suprised when people are offended and respond with insults. The only time I will ever personally dismantle someone is when he is clearly a false teacher and is advancing heresies. Such people should be driven from our midst.
I have crossed swords with Miki on occasion. She has accused me of advancing reckless and dangerous teachings, however I have never noticed anything deserving of the treatment Signet has dished out here.
Signet, you have a habit of making very simple one liner statements to boost your post count. Very often they are extremely inane and just kill off a thread. If you are going to make a statement that TBN is a beast, then you have to back it up with solid arguments to support your statement.

It's hard to be on TV and grow spiritually in front of the whole world. Being on this forum has been a little like that. I've allowed people to see my spiritual life. Most here don't do that. It's a way of trying to be honest with people so they understand that l have limited athority due to who l am..how l was raised...and the struggles l still go through. When l hear something like you said... a big red light goes off in my spirit.
I can not in right conscience let it slip by without addressing it.
It reminds me of the scripture in the Bible that talks about the women that is friends with her husband enemies. I feel this way towards some here at times...Perhaps l should move on.
Dennis...I like you. You're a great guy. What you are talking about concerning all you've seen and questioned is understandable. It becomes a different story however when it happens to you.

Hey guys! We can argue all we want; there is always going to be someone who disagree with us!
See Jesus! I don't think James' mother liked it when Jesus pointed out it was more important to just a be citizen of the kingdom than to occupy a high post there! She must have been disappointed!
A lot of misunderstanding!
We all see the Bible our way. That's just the way it is because none of us ARE ALIKE.
Yet we must keep some things in common: REMAIN SAVED and test the spirits to see if they are from God. Sometimes, we need to ask extra wisdom from God in order to pursue our personal Christian walk. Avoid fights and arguments and pray for others for unity.
And yes, EACH and EVERY ONE OF US has many times, made mistakes. Billy Graham is no exception. Only Jesus is perfect.
THANK GOD, GOD SEES IN OUR HEARTS and sees whether we MEAN it or if we are genuinely fooled, or in error. Then at any rate, let us KEEP ASKING for God's wisdom and guidance so that we may encourage each other, finish the race, and see each other in Heaven!
