Here is a photo from Malo, Italy of the giant ice moon halo (called the wolf's moon):



We saw this in Ohio on Saturday. The halo was such it was like a perfect hole in sky and the moon looked like a tiny bullseye. Reminded of this posting:

In France, when we do see a halo around the moon at night, we call it "lune de pluie" (rain moon) since it brings rain...

An old fact,

A ring around the moon, there will be rain within 24 hours. I guess in this case it was snow. Check it out.
