I feel I am supposed to just say a few words about the Modern church and the perspective of our walk with God...a walk "with God" to us is a walk "in Christ." Being in Christ presents a miraculous exchange and a continuation of something that man had from day one of his creation.
I am writing this because of a few rather "off the wall" declarations I found in a post over in the debate debacle forum.
My rancour of soul is to be found in statements regarding what is alleged to be gnosticism in todays body of Christ. It has pretty much everything to do with the declaration in the gnosticism post that many false teachings exist in the church couched in an apparent ballyhoo surrounding evidence that God and man are at some level equals. It is flatly declared to be false teaching and several men in ministry are mentioned and held accountable for the promulgation of the alleged falsehoods.
Of course, this channel of thought is set in the religious bent of our day which categorically denies that God is alive and well on planet earth and that He has given man control of the earth (which thing He did in Genesis 1:28))
The most powerful and unrealized ambition of God and man in our day has come to the light in the Gospel of Christ and few there be that find it and are willing to accept it. That of which I speak is that we indeed have a special place in the order of creation. That place is a place of performance, not merely a place of benign existence. Man is the only created being (in this world at least) that has a capacity to know God, to speak with God, to hear from God, to obey God willingly or to deny him categorically. All of this because we are created "in His image." An image is a likeness, and even a reflection. That means when you look upon a man you should be able to see something of God in Him. Both physically and spiritually.
I am here to state that is the case with us as human beings. Christ came that we might regain the lost ground of fellowship with God in that same direct way we once had in Eden. The salvation of man is all about the revitalization of a lost fellowship. Our commandment in James is to "draw nigh unto God and He will draw nigh to us." (James 4:8) Christ came that we can draw nigh to God and the miracle is that for that occasion, he did the opposite...He drew nigh to us....That set the ball rolling and He then set about bringing in a whole new vista of understanding for us to acknowledge, to follow in the light of it and to realize a commanded blessing which transcends the mere human fraility of our existence as darkened and lost souls.
I am amazed that after two thousand years, men still prefer darkeness to light...Eph 4:18 Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:
I simply do not have time to pursue this at length in this moment of time, but I have been a stalwart warrior for the faith and I am called to be a trumpet sounding in Zion to the end that men realize the grande scale of what God has offered to us in an incorruptible inheritance to live and rule with Him into all eternity...
Eph 2:4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Eph 2:5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) Eph 2:6 And hath raised [us] up together, and made [us] sit together in heavenly [places] in Christ Jesus: Eph 2:7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in [his] kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
The thing is it does not start "then." It starts here and now in this life.. 2Pe 1:4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
I have in the past exhorted (provided salt and have been peppered for it) and will yet again. For it is my burden of faith to preach both the goodness and severity of God. (Rom 11:22) What we are being offered is free for every "whosoever" and yet it is to be understood God expects a level of commitment which is indeed rare in our time. It is not for everyone...only to the overcomers of Revelations 2 and 3. ...Mt 7:14.
Joh 10:34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods? Joh 10:35 If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken; Joh 10:36 Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God? Joh 10:37 If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not.
Rom 8:16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: Rom 8:17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with [him], that we may be also glorified together.
The whole idea is that this life in this world is a training ground and a proving ground where you get to prove who you will serve and at what level you are ready to commit to....in order to do that we are given all the tools we need to make it happen...the end our faith is the salvation of our souls (1 Pet 1:9) That is when faith ends and not until....
We are indeed God men created unto good works....Christ revealed how we may respond to the initiatives of the Holy Spirit to enter into a realm of exisrtence which far and away exceeds the norms of life...
(I came back to edit this portion because above I accidently wrote "we are indeed God men" intead of "we are indeed men god." The Spirit expressly forbids me to change it)
Let the drums roll and the preaching begin...pardon me while I find my sling shot deflection device...Eph 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
Eph 3:20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Eph 3:21 Unto him [be] glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.
Enjoyed this post! Amen/Agree! Interesting title/more later!
