How long has this Daniel diet been in the old testament? And how long has the old testament been in peoples hands? And how long has people stopped reading? Nothing is new. Jesus complained about people worshipping with their lips with empty hearts. All that will do to the people in the United States is make them put more fries on their biggie sizes so they can waddle faster.
Rev 22:11 He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.
Hey Gregg, back in the middle ages they used to eat and drink from leaden vessels. The lead was poisoning them and they did not realize it. The result was that the general population became greatly weakened and the result of that was that the bubonic plague was able to gain a foothold and become a pandemic. That wiped out the larger proportion of all the living men, women and children in Europe and the British Isles.
Many expressions we now "enjoy" in our every day speech have their derivation in that time. One of them is the "graveyard shift." People would go into a coma for days and be thought to be dead. But there would often be strange voices and howling and crying in the middle of the night in graveyards. They thought it was ghosts. But over time, it got to be realized what may be happening. So they established a watch in the graveyards and if they saw or heard anything they would dig up the body to see if it were alive afterall. They eventually began keeping people around for a few days and would hold a "wake" to watch them. The entire reason was to give them time to see if they would recover. I am sure a few were saved by that process.
I said all that to say this, your posts hit me like that...graveyard material...harsh criticism or richly deserved...you be the judge of that....
