My mother was a lukewarm Christian only 6 months ago. However, Jesus has grabbed hold of her heart and now she is SO in love with Him and hungry for MORE. Praise GOD!
Because of her new found love for God, she is making friends with a man that she works with- he is also a Christian (one Spirit baby!). Mom has the week off for the holidays and wasn't in the office today, but she called this friend to wish him a happy birthday this morning. Adolph (her friend) said that he had had a wonderful birthday. He told her about his experience at church yesterday.
Aldolph church has singles ministry. As a gift, they sent all the singles down town for a very very nice dinner at one of city's best restaurants. There was one particular lady that received an invitation to the dinner. She was a single mother and also a student- so I KNOW that funds are tight for her. When she got downtown to go to dinner, she was having great difficulty finding any place that was free to park. Finally, she pulled into the Hilton's vallet area (the restaurant they all went to was on top of the Hilton- called the Eagle's Nest)... and asked the workers where there was a place that she could park for free. They told her not to worry about it, she would be able to park her car in the vallet- for free.
She came up to the front of the church to give her testimony. She wanted to tell everyone how God had been providing for her. God had given her a computer that week- someone just gave her one out of the blue. Then, He provided vallet parking for free! Finally, she said that she owned a very old junky car. She said she would drive it as long as it would last, but when it did finally conk out, she knew that God would provide transportation for her too. Without her knowledge, there was someone in the congregation that had planned on giving her a title to a new car. As soon as she said this, the person stood up and said, "I have a title to a new car. It is yours!"
THEN... Adolph said that another co-worker wanted to talk to Mom- her name is Angie. Angie goes to a very small church. Several months ago, her pastor gave a controversial message that divided the congregation. Apparently, the situation came to a head last week and her pastor finally resigned. Angie was very angry and upset over it. She did not want to go back to the church- but the pastor's wife, a very close friend of Angie's, told Angie to go to church on Sunday. Reluctantly, she obeyed. Angie's husband had gone to church with her every week, but he was not a believer. Well, this Sunday during the invitation, Angie's husband went forward. God rewarded Angie for her obedience, and now her husband is in the Body! WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED IF SHE HAD REFUSED TO GO???
I will repeat what I said earlier; as of six months ago, my Mom was lukewarm. Suddenly, however, my mom is seeing the Spirit move all around her. Mom never used to mention anything having to do with Christ at work. Just last week, however, Mom took her employees out to lunch and the entire conversation was centered on Jesus. LOOK AT GOD!!!
AGAIN... I SAY... LOOK AT GOD!!!
This is the face of revival. One person- one single loved human being at a time.
BELIEVE the promises of God. If God saved you, He will save not only your household, but also those you work with, those you go to the gym with, your friends, even strangers on the street!
GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME, AND WORTHY WORTHY WORTHY to be PRAISED!
