Emmanuel, which means “God with us”.

Sometimes spelled Immanuel.

I’m here in my office, all alone. But, not alone , for “God is with us”.
Jesus is within me, and I’m in Christ.
I am in-dwelt by the Holy Spirit of Jesus.

Is Allah “here with us”? No, he’s distant, aloof, apart, gone, etc.
Same for all the gods. Except One.

None but Christ dwell within us.

Christ could have saved us from our sins , and then, left us alone.
BUT! Christ went further! He lives with us, and within us, and He proposed marriage to us! Wow!

Bush, Clinton, Pope Benedict, Billy Graham, Hitler, Stalin, Churchill, etc.,,,,,may (or may not) have been great men, with tremendous love, wit, intelligence, personality, jokes, entertaining stories, stage presence, charisma, humility, courage, wisdom, and joy. BUT!………..they’re NOT HERE WITH ME!

They’re with someone ELSE!

Only Christ is here with me, and I am thankful.

...and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

I have often wondered how it is that we never really call Him Emmanuel? Maybe most of us don't believe God is with us. I think if we grasped that He is with us, will never leave or forsake us, we would have boldness in the day of judgment . Both His judgment, and the judgment of others upon us. Christianity can often be viewed as a life of "whoflungdung."
