Notice the similarities:
Revelation 13
15And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.
Revelation 19
20And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.
Daniel 3
1Nebuchadnezzar the king made an image of gold, whose height was threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof six cubits: he set it up in the plain of Dura, in the province of Babylon.
4Then an herald cried aloud, To you it is commanded, O people, nations, and languages,
5That at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, ye fall down and worship the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king hath set up:
6And whoso falleth not down and worshippeth shall the same hour be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace.
In Daniel Chapter 3, God saves His people who were thrown into the fire. In Revelation, it is the beast and the false prophet who are thrown in themselves.
Questions: Is the incident in Daniel 3 and Revelation 13 related? Does the similarity between the actions of Nebuchadnezzar and the second beast out of the earth indicate that the 2nd beast is a man who looks to Nebuchadnezzar as a role model? If he does, does that mean that he is trying to re-create Nebuchadnezzar's empire & reign? What does that say about the beast of the earth and his identity?
