Full Version: Blessed
Christian-Forum.net > General discussion > What do you say?

The first mention of the word "blessed" is this:

Gen 1:22 And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.

To be blessed is to be empowered to prosper. Notice God is into multiplying, not addition or division.

The last mention of the word "blessed" is this:

Rev 22:14 Blessed [are] they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

Being blessed is being allowed to live with God forever.

If follows that blessing is a daily event with God. Forever and ever. Psa 68:19 Blessed [be] the Lord, [who] daily loadeth us [with benefits, even] the God of our salvation. Selah.

Rev 21:2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. Rev 21:3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God [is] with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, [and be] their God. Rev 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

...ahem..

Luke 12:51-53
51Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division:

52 For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three.

53 The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

I wondered about the division part, heh,...sorry blush.gif

That is about belief in Jesus and the cost of discipleship. It does not preclude blessing. Mat 5:11 Blessed are ye, when [men] shall revile you, and persecute [you], and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

Well and good. Let us then not be found wanting ...Conduct or speech inciting people to rebel against the authority. Disagreement that leads to discord.

The above (spiritually speaking) leads to this... The obstruction of the blood supply to an organ or region of tissue.

Col 3:4 When Christ, [who is] our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory. Lev 17:11 For the life of the flesh [is] in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it [is] the blood [that] maketh an atonement for the soul.

Our very life is in His blood and that supply can be cut off.

As members of the body we need to keep ourselves in the love of God by being in agreement with His principals. Jud 1:21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

Rom 11:22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in [his] goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.
