Full Version: 2 'car' Dreams 2 Nights In A Row

This is a little strange - but I get the impression I'm being told something. To help me - I also checked out a secular dream interp site. BTW - it's about a quarter to 5am here - and I've been awake since about 3:30am.....courtesy of my wee baby. rolleyes.gif

The first night's dream was to do with the car brakes - that the caliper on one of them had snapped - it had caught on a fault in the rotor. That fault - although the rotor had been machined several times since - the impression upon investigation ( I believe it was investigated because the car had barely escaped an accident - I had enough brakes to stop ) was that someone had deliberately done something to the rotor - not the caliper - to cause the caliper to break. The fault in the rotor was like =- oh - imagine really thick cardboard - and someone has dripped some water on the surface near the edge - It kind of puffs up and when dry - remains a little puffed and the layers of paper creating the cardboard tend to separate and get flakey. What seems to have happened here is at some stage, someone has fiddled with the edge of the rotor disk - causing a minor fault that wouldn't have been noticed until quite some time down the track after a machining or two. Then, once the edge of the disk reaches a certain point, you kind of start to feel the fault - in a 'wobble' when you apply the brakes. So what's happened is the brake pad has worn unevenly, and the fault has gotten worse due to direct pressure on it - and the brake pad has 'tripped' over the fault and snapped one of the caliper's to which the brake pad is attached. NOw - these are pretty hefty sized calipers we're talking about = not those spindly little scientific ones.

So the decision from the investigation - it was a deliberate inteferance with the car's brakes.

Then last night - or this morning.....I was visiting my uncle whom I haven't seen in absolute years. He lives in a 'hamlet' or very small town (it is that small centrally but spread over a large farming district)...but this place is on the wrong side of the nearest 'bigger' town. wacko.gif I hate it when georgraphy gets all mixed up in dreams. I asked to borrow his car - same kinda model as mine - he said yes......I wanted to go buy an Icecream or somethig I think.....it was dark. My aunt says - drive carefully - okay. I'm driving alown - and the car starts beeping at me to tell me there's not a lot of fuel in the car. That's fine - I figure I should have enough to get to where I'm going because our car does the same t hing when there's only 60-70kms worth of fuel left - and I'm not going that far. I turn the beeper off - but don't notice how much fuel is supposed to be left. I get halfway to where I'm going - Hamilton - and the fuel light comes on....and the car starts coughing and spluttering. I left the mobile at home....how typical. So I check my wallet - I can afford $5.00 worth of fuel - that's all I have - and I"ll forgoe my icecream....if I can just get the car to Hamilton - to the service station.....which is (in the dream) on the other side of the wee town. Of course - the car stops short - a couple of K's out of Hamilton in the beautiful - but very dark countryside. I have to walk. As I get into tow - all the lights are out - all the shops are shut. It is pitch dark. I keep on going to the service station and run into someone - who asks if they can help - I said yes - and explained my problem ( I did also notice that the footpaths were raised - like they were in the olden days and this is a 'colonial' town) He said - sure - I'll get you your fuel. I said - I only need $5.00 - but I've nothing to put it in - he says that's okay. Tells me to punch in $15.00 on the petrol bowser - then says - no - make that $38.00 - I asked why? He said it's easier for me this way to explain what has happened. I don't understand that......next thing I know - I hand over my money - and he gives me $32 (not 38) in change - all I had was 5 dollars.

So I really have no idea as to what these two dreams are really getting at. Maybe I have faulty brakes in ME - I don't know when to put the brakes on.....not that I'm flat out or anything but I'm kinda busy. I do get my rest during the day - but my sleep at the moment isn't 'restful'.

Below - are the interps re the service station - and yes - I do need to re-energize and revitalise me. I'm on vitamins and try to get enough rest. I've just spent $40.00 on some loreal facial products to tgry and get my skin under control again....I NEVER spend that much money on skin care! so I'm working on it = and my buddy is hypnotising me to try andhelp me give up the evil cigerettes.....they tasted revolting for 2 days.......but my addiction is stronger than my will power mellow.gif

So if anyone has any other ideas - cool.gif any insight - please let me know.

To dream that you are at the gas station, indicates a need to reenergize and revitalize yourself. It may also suggest that to help and be an assistant to others.

Gasoline

To see gasoline in your dream, represents energy and spirituality. Thus to dream that you run out of gas, suggests that you are wearing yourself out. Take a time out.

To dream that you are filling your car with gasoline, symbolizes your need to take better care of your Self. You need to be revitalized.

Gasoline Station

To dream that you are at a gasoline station, indicates that you need to take time out to refuel. You may be running low on energy. The dream also represents your ability to convert outside resources and use it for your own needs.

Cool dreams, I sense the Lord may be telling you to slow down with whatever you are doing... it may be that you are trying to do something for HIm in your own strength... we can only serve Him in the strength that He supplies via grace in the Holy Spirit... you only $5 (the number for grace) for gas but the man "gives" much more... gas in the tank is the Holy Spirit...

I think the Lord is trying to get your attention that you will only be able to accomplish what He has for you by His strength not by your own efforts!

Hope my explanation isn't too confusing, it is hard for me to intepret sometimes the impressions I get.

Blessings,

That actually sounds about right. I was - and have a terrible habit of doing it - thinking only in the 'worldly' sense - which isn't to say that it is incorrect - It relates quite well to both worldly and spiritual. Expecially when I'm feeling so wretched that all sense of the spiritual just goes out the window.

Thanks mate

A couple of things come to mind; first, that fact that you had two dreams with similar aspects says that God is trying to get your attention.
Secondly, cars are modes of transportation; getting here and there. They are more common than say, airplanes, hot air balloons, etc. I feel this speaks to your everday life.
The fact that the brakes were faulty says to me that if you don't stop or stop something, the normal mechanisms that are used to slow us down and/or stop us will fail and it will take a potential catastrophe to do the job. Not pronouncing judgement here by any means or prophesying doom and gloom.
There's a lot of symbolism here such as statements made by you like; "So what's happened is the brake pad has worn unevenly, and the fault has gotten worse due to direct pressure on it - and the brake pad has 'tripped' over the fault and snapped one of the caliper's to which the brake pad is attached. "
You would do well to seriously think about this and seek the Lord as to what in your life is causing this.
