I am not saying this proverb isn't true, I just never seen it come true. All these super rich sinful people leave an inheritance ( The Hiltons, for example) and their wealth never seems to be taken from them and given to deserving righteous people. Have you seen this come true? Am I just misunderstanding this proverb? Could someone clarify this for me and give examples from the present day where it has shown to have come true?

This is just a thought, but perhaps the inheritance mentioned is of a spiritual sort, rather than a material one, just as all children of God recieve their inheritance-- the Kingdome of God-- through faith in Christ.

I think this proverb applies to folks making their money by honest way as opposed to ill gotten gains.
For example, a drug dealer stands to loose all their wealth by lawful seizure under the RICO statutes. This would not leave anything for the drug dealers kin to inherit.
But with my cynicism, lately, I am thinking money makes everyone dishonest and a thief, and the law doesn't always catch that.
