Woman at the Well
For the past year and a half, we have been dealing with a nightmare neighbor in the downstairs apartment.

She is a young girl with an 8-year old son. We've been subjected to loud rock/rap music at all hours of the day and night, cigarette butts all over the place, vulgar language, etc. on an almost daily basis. We have both been down that road, so we certainly don't want to judge her (no casting stones), but we have been at our wits end trying to live in a peaceful home with all of that going on around us.

We have spoken to her very nicely, we have greeted her when we run into her, so needless to say, it shocked us when we heard her outside the window telling someone that we wanted to kill her son's turtle. ohmy.gif (We are cruelty prevention and rescue advocates, so that didn't make a bit of sense).

I prayed, yesterday morning, for The Lord to remove the anger and frustration that I have been trying my hardest to keep under control. My husband keeps reminding me that being angry about it is just giving satan a foothold.

Well, we came home from the grocery store yesterday evening and found a pack of prescription medication lying in the gravel where she parks her car (she wasn't home). The medication is used to treat schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. That explains a lot! rolleyes.gif

The Lord answered my prayer by replacing the anger in my heart with compassion to help me deal better with the situation. He opened my eyes in an instant. He showed me that the neighbor can't change, but my heart can to be at peace with her.

He is so good. I love You, Father. Thank You! wub.gif

How cool Woman at the well! He does jump right in and shows us our failings, which is His spirit working within us! 1dsz5h3.gif

I just wanted to share a quick similiar testemony about ANGER! When I first found out that my dad and my aunt were to wed 7 weeks after my mom's passing I was so beyond furious that I couldn't even think straight! Anger had me fully in it's grip....well, one day my aunt called me just before they were to marry and she said "I feel as giddy as a school girl about marrying your dad"! happy.gif Well, first I wanted to "yell" at her, then I wanted to cry, but then...The Lord stepped in and I heard that small voice say "It could be worse, your aunt "loves" your father and will care for him". smile.gif Right then...I stopped and thought...Wow, she would! I knew she would "care for him for the rest of his days, and she "loved him", and "yes, it could have been worse...it could have been a gold digging stranger instead of my aunt"! biggrin.gif And, my dad was way lonely, so now "even though not the best of circumstances" I know in my heart...she will be good for him, and he is just shy of 80...so I blessed their union in my thoughts, and all has been well since then! happy.gif
Praise our wonderful Lord for showing us where "we are lacking"! AMEN! Woman at the well, Praise the Lord HE showed you too....it could be worse, but now you KNOW the why behind the behavior and HE has softened your heart, now we can ALL pray for her 1dsz5h2.gif , amen and amen! wub.gif your sis, hannah

Thank you, Pamela. It's nice to meet you.

The woman at the well is a very special lady to me. The Lord used her to bring us to Him. I posted the explanation for my user name in the What Do You Say forum in the New Members thread ( I think it is page 64, I'm not sure).

I really like it here so far. Everyone has been so kind, and has received us with open arms.

Have a blessed day.

Love in Y'shua,
Angie

You are so right, Hannah. How cool is that, that He intercedes even for the sinner (as He interceded many times for me, even when I was in sin, because He had future plans for me).

As in the case with your Dad and your Aunt, we forget to look at what the other person needs, or what may be going on in another person's life, that we are not even aware of. But, He knows. We just need to step out of His way and trust Him to work out the whole situation.

He was so good to answer my prayer and purge my heart of the poison of anger. Yes, please do pray for her and her little boy. I pray for them every day because I have been so worried about that little guy.

Love you,
Your sister, Angie

When the Lord was giving my husband and I the vision of how we are to set up the church we are pastoring He gave me the woman at the well...He showed me that those who are thirsty will come and drink the word He gives us and never thirst again...He has blessed us with a wonderful teacher that keeps us quenched.
The name of our church is The Well ACOF....

He is an awesome God!
