I have many medical issues that I deal with daily, but I got thrown some bad news today that has me really scared. I had a cyst on my stomach that became infected. It grew quite large and red and was very painful...;like a large boil. I saw my Dr today, and she immediately cut it open and drained it...she said it is so bad as a complication from my diabetes. She has left it open and packed, and I have to go to PT for wound therapy tomorrow and every other day after that. She gave me a strong antibiotic, and some stronger pain meds (already on some for my fybromyalgia and DJD). The part that has me so scared is that she said it is a bacterial infection that has spread to my skin, and she is sending me for about 15 different lab tests. She suspects it may be that flesh eating bacteria. If the antibiotics don't stop it, and if it is that bacteria, I am facing possible life saving surgery (praise God) that would involve removing a large portion of the skin and fatty tissues around my midsection. Not the way I want to lose weight...sorry gotta laugh if I can But, I do need your prayers, as inside I am very scared and I have no one to help as I live alone. Sometimes I don't even see another human being for 2 weeks or more. All the more reason that you have all become so very important to me. And I know for a fact that I would not be here if I didn't have my LORD JESUS AND MY HOLY FATHER with me!

Okay, enough about me....I hate doing this, I usually keep my problems to myself, but God led me to this forum tonight I believe for some intercessory prayer! So i will thank you in advance, and tell you all that I love each and every one of you, and can't wait to meet you someday soon in our new home!

Oh Elaine, I'll certainly pray for you. Father, I ask that you touch Elaine in her Physical body. First I ask that you heal this infection that there would be no need of surgery. I ask that you regulate heer insulin production that there would be no more Diabetes. Heal her of all of her afflictions. I ask that you grant her peace in the midst of all of life's storms, and draw her closer to you. This I ask in the name of your son Jesus, amen.

Thank you all so much!! your replies and prayers made me cry this morning, but in a good way. I am off to physical therapy in a few minutes for wound therapy (whatever that involves) I will keep you updated. Again Thanks and much love to you all!!

I had wound therapy this morning....I told the physical therapist what the Dr said, and he asked me if this is what she thought I had...After he looked at the wound, cleaned it (ouch) , and put in a drain (double ouch) wick...he told me to be sure to keep taking my antibiotics, as it is a bacterial infection and could be that....seems that bacterial infections release toxins that can eat the flesh, its not the bacteria that does it, but the toxins. Its the same bacteria that causes Strep throat....just sometimes it goes out of whack or something and releases these toxins...I have to go back to him tomorrow evening to get a new drain wick and cleaning again....I go to the hospital for my tests tomorrow morning....then back to the Dr on monday. The good news is that when he checked the wound this morning, he squeezed it to see if any more puss had built up, and he only got blood (I know..too much info, but very good news for me) I'm hurting pretty bad right now from all the poking and prodding, but I'm trying to keep a positive outlook, and take this one step at a time. Yesterday I was freaking out and scared. Today I am trying the power of positive believing. I believe that God can heal me, and that this will be gone soon Thank you all for your worry and especially your prayers....it does help to know that someone else cares

Father thank You for hearing my prayer as I life up GL to You right now in the name of Jesus...Father Your hands are healing hands and I ask with urgency to place them on GL and heal this area on her stomach and remove all the infection that is seeking to destroy Your temple...I call this assignment over in Jesus name..Lord Your glory will shine through this situation and GL will get out more and tell people about Your tender mercies...In Jesus name I pray and ask, amen...

Oh sweet Elaine, The Lord is with you. We also are with you in prayer. I have a friend who had this on his face. he too has diabetes... The antibiotic worked. I will pray the same for you.

Oh Lord I lift up my sister in the Lord to you, I ask that you heal her body and take the disease away. Lord I ask that you surround her with other Christians that will support her and be a friend, help her to find a body of believers near her where she can fellowship.

Miche...thank you for telling me about your friend. The antibiotics are strong, but God is stronger...what a great relief to hear of your friend overcoming this. The antibiotics have a horrible bitter taste....a bitter pill to swallow...LOL! But i am taking them and praying, and as I pray I am also passing it forward, praying for all of you who have such loving hearts and kind words to share. I know you are all making Jesus so proud!

I went to the Dr today, and the infection has spread and I have another abcess forming on my breast now. She told me that my blood sugar is running over 200 and she is gonna put me in the hospital in the morning. She wanted to put me in today, but I have to make arrangements for my furbaby (my best friend/beagle ) So i am going to be admitted in the morning and they are gonna try IV antibiotics and also try to get my sugar under control at the same time. I'm scared, but leaning on My Heavenly Father to get me thru this. I hope to see you all in a few days!

I'm sitting with a womens service dog early this morning. She is diabetic and has surgery for around 6am for precancerous fibroids...She has MS too.
The hospital has been peculiar about her dog so she had to remind them of the law... I leave here in a couple of hours to drive in to the city...I'll be thinking of you Miss Lassy....

Elaine, I am so sorry to hear all that you are going through. I too suffer with fybromyalgia and just as you do I stay in my house the only time I get out is to come to the library to use the PC and come to this forum. If I hadn't had this forum and all the very special brothers and sisters here I would have no friends at all. This is my escape. When I feel really low I like to come here to the Prayer Requests so that I have others to pray for and that almost all the time takes my mind off my own issues which are many right now. I love you and you will be most deffenitally placed on my personal prayer list at home. I too am facing some tests that scare me, I have lost 20 pounds in one month mostly just recently. I have to have a colonastaphy, (spelling sorry) and another mamagram. So, as I pray for you and you pray for me God will be in the center of it all. HE IS STILL THE MASTER PHYCHICIAN, (again sorry for the bad spelling) I have written your name as well as others on the prayer list here and will be praying for you all. I love you all and miss you. I'm Home!!!! Thank God for everything. Helen you are on my prayer list as well. I pray for complete healing for us both! Isn't Fibromyalgia the nastiest thing ever.....painful and nothing they can do for it yet. My bacterial infection is under control....and my blood sugar is down from 211 to 152...still working on that. I came out of this with a much better understanding of my diabetes and the problems it can cause. I am on some new medication, and new diet as well. I'm praying that things will continue to improve. Thank you all so much for your prayers and for caring...it means more than you will ever know! Love to all!!
