Apparently last night we were hacked into again even though we have the latest upgrade for running this forum.

Why is this happening?

But before we jump to different conclusions, let me remind us all that even missionaries in war-torn countries do not escape the afflictions that war brings while preaching the gospel. Even Paul said that he suffered the threat of bandits continually (among all the rest of his trials). Why then should we be surprised that this forum suffers the scourge common to cyber land? Expecially when this forum has grown and caught the eye of a number of God haters. Let us not grow weary in well doing.

And let us pray that God would shield this forum from such things and that God would strengthen those that have to clean up the mess afterward. But we are in a war, Christians! And we are in a war zone! We should expect trouble at times to fall around us, but this forum, as all can see, remains up and running. By God's grace we are not defeated!

Speaking for myself I am afraid that I do not know the 1st thing about persecution here in America!
My heart breaks when I here stories of the tribulation that face some christians in the world! I know that these attacks will intensify as the Day approaches.

yes it gets old. but it can be done. And we can do it with Gods instruction and His shelter. So what if someone has to hold our arms in the air in order to win the battle. If God says it can be done then it CAN be done.

Apparently her software flagged it as threatening, and said she'd sent a report off re phishing. Discussion as follows - I have asked for the 'info' her scanners found so I can give it to you - coz it sounds so unlikely that it would be deliberate.

okay - didn't know that - it's a christian forum and I've never had problems there - although they did get hacked a couple of times by devil worshippers )that's what I called 'em but they are truly fabulous & I've met some wunnerful people there.

Raggy, it red-flagged my set-up... only reported for investigation to Microsoft.
Came up with definitive tugs at my PC's mac-address (hardware profile), like it was trying to ID me...
that's not nice - ask and I'll release the info, grab though and I block and report.

Some people are just a bit paranoid. I have checked the site from top to bottom for any kind of virus, illegitmate links, scanners, etc I have been unable to find it.
The forum is up to date for it's version of PHP.

Me thinks Ajay doth protest too much...I would love to see the PC report Ajay comes up with...

Shekel have you ever considered from getting a new web host provider?
My full time job is computer administrator and if your web host provider doesn't have a tight security system then people are going to log on no matter what you do.

We are doing fine as far as the forum and hosting is concerned. IPS is the hosting company and they have been very good about helping us when we need it. I have been keeping the board to to date on all security patches and on top of that, we will be moving to another updated version of the IPB forum code soon.
I am truly amazed at the LORD's grace and mercy towards this forum and the people on it. Shekel, Cornelius and I and talked about moving to another provider some time ago but the decision was to stay right here.
