This thread is for those who want to bring the promises of God to their brothers and sisters.

2 Peter 1:4
Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.

So : we can participate in the divine nature, through the promises. How?
By knowing them, then believing them, and them quoting them when they are appropriate.
Here is a great one to tackle sin with. Believe this scripture and then speak to your problem:
Romans 6:14
For sin shall not [any longer] exert dominion over you, since now you are not under Law [as slaves], but under grace [as subjects of God's favor and mercy].

and this one:

Romans 6:11
Even so consider yourselves also dead to sin and your relation to it broken, but alive to God [living in unbroken fellowship with Him] in Christ Jesus.

Praise God, I can say the following:I am dead to sin and my relation to it is broken, but I am alive to God, living in unbroken fellowship with Him in Christ Jesus. Sin shall no longer exert dominion over me. I am under grace.!!

1 John 3:9
Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

1 John 3:4
Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

Prove 4:

20My son, attend to my words; consent and submit to my sayings.

21Let them not depart from your sight; keep them in the center of your heart. 22For they are life to those who find them, healing and health to all their flesh.

He (Jesus) always does exactly what He says. He carries out and fulfills all of God's promises, no matter how many of them there are; and we have told everyone how faithful He is, giving glory to His name. - 2 Corinthians 1:20 TLB

Some years ago, I heard from a lady who chastised me for writing about how I stood on the promises of God for my oldest son, and witnessed the Lord delivering him in mighty ways. She shared with me how she had earnestly prayed for her own son's deliverance, but had seen him die in a senseless tragedy instead. She urged me not to encourage others to pray the promises of God, because it might get their hopes up, and cause them to be bitterly disappointed. My own heart grieved for this woman, and I felt ashamed that I had caused her so much pain.

As I turned to God for His perspective on the matter, He brought to my remembrance some great men and women of faith who had tragically lost children of their own, but had continued to stand on God's promises, and to encourage others to do the same. Perhaps the Lord understood the doubt and discouragement that the woman who wrote me was experiencing. I certainly did. But which attitude would please Him more--the one that discarded the promises of God because of a personal experience, or the one that pressed on in faith despite unimaginable pain? I believe we can find the answer in Hebrews 11:6, which says: "Without faith it is impossible to please God."

Recently, I went through a trial that dampened my own faith more than I care to admit. At one point, as I cried out to the Lord in desperation, He began bringing across my path numerous people who urged me to pray and stand on the promises of God. One of the things that impressed me most was hearing a godly man say that Satan simply cannot defeat a believer who perseveres in prayer, and claims the promises of God. Since then, I have gotten more serious than ever about claiming God's promises, and about encouraging others to do the same. These days, when one of my loved ones turns to me for prayer, it's not unusual for me to tell them, "Get your promise books out!" Not only have I distributed Bibles to many of my relatives and friends, but I have also given them books containing God's promises. I have found that people who won't necessarily sit down with a Bible, will often cling to a little promise book in their times of need. And I have discovered these little books to be some of the most powerful witnessing tools I've ever encountered.

The Bible instructs us to, "Put the Lord in remembrance of His promises." (Isaiah 62:6 AMP) How do we do that? Through prayer. I recently heard from a woman who was having serious problems with her teenage daughter. No matter how long or hard she prayed, she saw very little change in her child's life. Then I recommended some books to her that contained prayers based on God's promises. As her prayers shifted from being problem-centered to promise-centered, she was able to focus on the power of God, rather than on her own powerlessness. That's when she began seeing mountains move, and her daughter's life being radically changed.

Scripture says: "God is not a man, that He should lie. He is not a human, that He should change His mind. Has He ever spoken and failed to act? Has He ever promised and not carried it through?" (Numbers 23:19 NLT) God longs for us to take Him at His Word, and to pray His promises back to Him. While God is Sovereign, and He will be the One to decide how our prayers are answered, let us never forget that it's faith that pleases Him, and that enables us to reap His richest rewards! (Hebrews 11:6)

Prayer: Lord, teach me how to pray and stand on Your promises to bring Your perfect will to pass in every area of my life, and the lives of my loved ones. Remind me often that Your promises have the power to strengthen, comfort, refresh, and revive me in times of trouble. (Psalm 119:49-50) Thank You, Lord, that You are "the God who keeps every promise"! (Psalm 146:6 TLB)

One of my favourites......

1Jo 5:14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: 1Jo 5:15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

If it is in His will it is yours...The following scriptures are in accord with the above....

Mat 18:20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

Mar 9:41 For whosoever shall give you a cup of water to drink in my name, because ye belong to Christ, verily I say unto you, he shall not lose his reward.

Mar 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; Mar 16:18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

Joh 14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater [works] than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. Joh 14:13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. Joh 14:14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do [it].

Joh 14:26 But the Comforter, [which is] the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

Joh 15:16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and [that] your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

Joh 16:23 And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give [it] you. Joh 16:24 Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.

Then would I still have consolation--yes, I would leap [for joy] amid unsparing pain [though I shrink from it]--that I have not concealed or denied the words of the Holy One!

Psalm 5:11
But let all those who take refuge and put their trust in You rejoice; let them ever sing and shout for joy, because You make a covering over them and defend them; let those also who love Your name be joyful in You and be in high spirits.

For sin shall not [any longer] exert dominion over you, since now you are not under Law [as slaves], but under grace [as subjects of God's favor and mercy].

If we are no longer under the dominion of sin, why are we even concerned about it.
If you are no longer a slave then do not try to bring anybody else under the command of no slavery because that removes all impulses to do good. God's favor and mercy are shown in the work of slavery. You are no longer slaves of men but slaves to Christ, the Good Master.

This is a wonderful thread Mr C. The Lord is having me study Joshua right now.

Joshua 1:3 Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses.

God can give but you must take…. Today, we have to appropriate it at the cross!

1:5 There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
1:6 Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them.

Verse 5 is a dynamite promise if you are a military commander, Joshua was.
Verse 6 God will keep His promise…He made it, He will keep it. (The promise was made to Abraham, Joshua is getting ready to be God's earthly commander in fulfilling that promise to the children of Israel.)

And we have all those promises

Matt 28 20. Promise of Appearance I am with you always,

Promise of the Spirit, the Comforter, of teaching, of remembering

Matthew 3:11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance. but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:

John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. (I am thankful - if the Spirit hadn't brought all things to Matt, Mark, Luke and John's rememberance - we wouldn't have the gospels of the NT the way we have it today.)

1 John 4:4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. (no fear)

Rom 8:37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. (Promise of conqueroring)
C
(Epe.2:8) for by grace have ye been saved through faith; (1 Pet.2:24) who his own self bare our sins in his body … by whose stripes we were healed; (Col.1:13) who delivered us out of the power of darkness and translated us into the kingdom of the Son of his love; (2 Cor.5:18) … who reconciled us to himself; (Gal.2:20) I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I that live, but Christ liveth in me; (Gal. 3:13) Christ redeemed us from the curse; (1 Pet.1:3) … the Father … begat us again … by the resurrection of Jesus Christ; (Heb.10:10) We … have been sanctified …; (14) He hath perfected forever them that are sanctified; (Epe.1:3) … who hath blessed us with every spiritual blessing, and God (2 Pet.1:3) hath granted unto us all things

Who can see that God has already done it at the cross...and that we only have to receive it by faith?
C

The point I want to make is: The Bible tells us to "call things that are NOT, as if they WERE" Right?
So, here is the logic: I am now going to call the following things that are NOT, as if they WERE (OK, I am still in the Word if I do the following ) : I am dead (that I do not see yet, I still fall, but I may agree with the Word) so ...I am dead and no longer live.
Next "that are NOT" that I am going to call as "if it WERE" is: Christ now lives IN me. (I cannot see this yet as well, but I am now agreeing with the Word ..OK?)
So: Now I am dead and no longer live, but Christ lives in me. ( I do not see it, but I am taking the liberty of believing the Word)
What happens when we do that (move in faith)...The Holy Spirit all of a sudden starts to bring what we believe. into reality.
Why do we first have to call something as if it were?...

Because we cannot please God without faith
What is faith: calling things that are not, as if they were.

So, I now have (by faith) a dead me (it will now start manifesting, because I am using faith) and Christ IN me (also He will only NOW start manifesting, because I am using faith) ..So far I am still safe and moving within the Scriptures. Right?

Next step: All the promises are YES , only for the Seed of Abraham (remember Jesus is the Seed) but now I am no longer alive and He (according to the Word and my faith) is now living in me, so again logic tells me that the promises will now activate for Him who is in me. (I believe I am still within the Word by saying that too)
# Galatians 3:16
Now the promises (covenants, agreements) were decreed and made to Abraham and his Seed (his Offspring, his Heir). He [God] does not say, And to seeds (descendants, heirs), as if referring to many persons, but, And to your Seed (your Descendant, your Heir), obviously referring to one individual, Who is [none other than] Christ (the Messiah).

2 Corinthians 1:20
For as many as are the promises of God, they all find their Yes [answer] in Him [Christ]. For this reason we also utter the Amen (so be it) to God through Him [in His Person and by His agency] to the glory of God.

Now, I have to look at the promises: What I see is that ALL are in the past tense. So, God is telling us something. He is resting from His works: Jesus said it is FINISHED. So the promises are also all done and fulfilled IN HIM (Who are also now IN ME ...that is IF I believe the Word...which I do)

What else does the Word tell me about the promises: Well, it tells me I can can clean myself with them:

2 Corinthians 7:1
THEREFORE, SINCE these [great] promises are ours, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from everything that contaminates and defiles body and spirit, and bring [our] consecration to completeness in the [reverential] fear of God.

How do I do that?
The same way as the first example: I call things that are NOT as if they WERE.

Now I have to look for a promise that can clean me, so I can call it "as if it WERE" (I am still moving safely within the scriptures here) smile.gif

Ah here is one I can use:

# Hebrews 10:10
And in accordance with this will [of God], we have been made holy (consecrated and sanctified) through the offering made once for all of the body of Jesus Christ (the Anointed One).

So I HAVE BEEN made HOLY. A past tense promise! Now (still moving in scripture, I am going to call something that I cannot see yet, as if it already exists: I am holy, sanctified and consecrated)..Still I am safely within the parameters of the Word.

So , now the Holy Spirit can start to give me, what I am declaring by faith. I am now dead, Christ lives in me, I am holy, sanctified and consecrated.

See the logic? Its all scriptural. Now in the same way, I am going to believe by faith the following: That sin no longer has dominion over me (the Word tells me that, but if I deny it, it will not manifest in me) I am also going to believe that Jesus came to take away the sin of the world, (This faith thing is great biggrin.gif , I am now seeing , for the first time in my life...VICTORY...HA ) Plus, I did NOT work for it, but Jesus GAVE it to me...the only reason I have not seen it manifested in my life:

I did not call things that are NOT , as if they WERE.
I was in Unbelief, and could not please God.

THAT is what has changed in my life. I now believe the Word.
TOTALY.
Isn't God the greatest biggrin.gif

In church on Sunday my Pastor said that not all of the promises in those little 'Promises of God' books are actually promises...I hung around a while because l wanted to ask him to show which were and which weren't and why but he was cornered by to many others. I may ask this Sunday if l can.

But these above really are promises or truth that applies to all believers.

The only difference is that some believe and some do not. We have to know in which category we are.

Do you believe the whole Word if God?
or
Do you believe that it is fallible?

about (the promises)! One that I'm enjoying lately!.......

“"The LORD will cause your enemies who rise up against you to be defeated before you; they shall come out against you one way and shall flee before you seven ways.” Deuteronomy 28:7 NASB.

The battle belongs to the Lord! Deuteronomy 28 is known for declaring the blessings of God for His own. Being descendents of Abraham, and upon receiving Jesus Christ as your Lord, we are a part of His chosen family. God said those who rise up against you, will be defeated before you. That does not say you will be “battle exempt.” “When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.” Isaiah 59:19b KJV.

In actuality, this implies that a person will be in battle, by the obedience to God’s commandments. As the battle intensifies and you often realize your fight is a bigger than you can physically handle, that is just when God also reminds us to call upon Him—the battle belongs to the Lord!

In addition, remember that the promises of blessings begin with an if you obey, then, the blessings will overtake you! Stay in the spiritual war, because when you realize how much the enemy wants to intimidate you, just remind him of God’s citizenship blessings— it is our Kingdom!

“Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.” Ephesians 6:13 NIV.
Be assured that by our obedience we will see the enemy flee seven ways! Above all—stand! He will flee!

STAND

S - Stand firm in what the Father has called you to do. He has told you what would come to pass and you know of the purging that was necessary in your life to bring you to this place. Do not move from where you are planted, but remain at rest before HIM. The Lord has yet to give you all of the instructions to bring you the full release.

T - Take not thought for what will come tomorrow. Nothing HE has already told you should come as a surprise. Do not fear, but stand in HIM. Allow the Lord to be your strength.

A - Allow nothing to divert your attention from the Father or HIS voice. Be vigilant in your pursuit of HIS prescence and concentrate on what HE is speaking to you.

N - Never doubt for one minute that what the Lord has stated in HIS Word will not come to pass. What HE brings forth will be clearly seen and man will know that there is a God in heaven.

D - Decisions, many are in the valley of decision and will never leave. Come, while HIS arms are open to you.

TRANSFORMERS
IPB ImageIPB Image
God is calling us to be transformers…power plants that awaken a darkened city, power plants that serve the masses bringing light…the glorious light of the gospel.

To be a transformer in Christ’s army, one must first break up the fallow ground. Fallow ground is that which has become hardened, dry and cracked. Fallow ground needs tears of repentance to flow into the crevices of the parched land of our hearts, softening the ground, preparing it for the plow and the sower. “He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.” Ps. 126:6

We are in need of revival, but we need softer hearts of compassion and mercy. We need the Holy Spirit, to break and renew us. We need a renewed passion for souls. We must see our own need of having a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit in our lives, seeking the “much more” of the Holy Spirit.

God…we must cry out…we need You! We need you desperately. Everything else in this world is insignificant in comparison to You.

When His Spirit settles down upon us and anoints us then we can bring holy fire to ignite the hearts of men, to cause them to see our Lord and become transformed and become transformers of His greatness and goodness.

Without electrical current, entire cities and communities lie idle, homes are without light, appliances we rely on don’t work. We must seek the presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives daily, to make us transformers that the electrical impulses that spark fires in us, will catch fire and flame up in others who have lost their vision, who have lost hope, who are hungry and thirsty for that which they know not. We must allow the Holy Spirit to burn freely in us to ignite fires of repentance and revival, and light up the world with the glory and power of God.
. . . . . . . . .
Stir our hearts oh Lord! To work in your harvest field across this great nation! Fill us with great joy and power as we walk in Your Spirit and love people to Jesus. May our blessed eyes see clearly and our blessed ears hear completely, and our blessed hearts understand and know you as you are. Let Your heart beat of love move us to reach the nations in our nation. In Jesus Name AMEN!

Allow Me to do all that is necessary in you to fulfill your destiny. Do not be afraid of adversity because I will use it to purify your heart.

QUOTE(Miki @ Aug 31 2006, 12:06 AM) [snapback]81967[/snapback]

But the fullness of this won't be realized until we are face to face since we see through a glass darkly?

Not that l don't think we are becoming.

Miki, I cannot really explain it better than in this post of mine.

Let me ask you this: what is faith? (I know you can answer, but you have to say it to yourself.)
Secondly: Can you please God without it?

So then: If faith is calling things that are not as if they were, then would that be the way that is pleasing to God?

If the answer is "yes" then we should do that. Right?

So . if you can follow my logic here, you will understand why I am always on about it:

We do not see ourselves holy , perfect, sanctified, healed, yet. BUT IF the Word tells us to BELIEVE the things NOT YET SEEN, then I MUST believe that all these promises ARE in fact a reality in the spirit, before I can see them manifested in my life .Right?
So that would be faith then, and if that is faith, it is pleasing to God.

I want to please God. So I call things that HE tells me is true (like that I am dead, and Christ lives in me, and I am holy and sanctified) a reality BY FAITH.

Would you say this is a difficult concept? Or am I just bad at putting this across.

. . . So that's what faith must be!

As we are waiting in faith for our family and friends.........The shiftings that we often speak of are nothing more than true faith springing into action to bring others into that same faith. It is in faith that true covenant with God is revealed and experienced. Faith is the person and experience of Christ Himself. Christ is the adhesion to any and all relationships established in this same faith. Only in true faith can diverse members function and move in harmony, one with another, so that Christ be manifest greater than who they are alone as individuals.

Identify the areas of your life that are being visited today. Is the Lord's visitation producing a shaking in your life? If so, look to the source of that shaking and then focus on the one who is the source of your faith. Allow true worship of Jesus to align your life with the spirit in order to produce the natural witness of Him in the earth that others can see.

(Rom.6:22) But now being made free from sin and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto sanctification, and the end eternal life. (Col.1:13) who delivered us out of the power of darkness, and translated us into the kingdom of the Son of his love.

Miki, the short version: You are free .

Jesus gave you freedom from sin, sickness and bondage,,,He sanctified you, made you holy and saved you. How do we get to see this in the here and now:
Only by Faith!

Building on the foundation that I have eternal life I found that all scriptures fall into place. There is no condemnation for me. No matter what! The view from up here is simply over whelming at times. To know that I’ve been born of an all Holy and Mighty God is simply breath taking… To know and what’s more, to be loved by His Son is so very assuring. Many years ago I was reading, “Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.” – John 17:3 NIV and I was given the blessing of feeling eternal life in my heart. I now knew that I have this life and what’s more, can rest in knowing that God has personally told me that I know Him. Oh that everyone would know and build each other up in this blessed assurance. Sadly, we have to endure the weeds for a short while, but we’ll be going home soon enough. Home is where the heart is and for me, Jesus is my home. Yes I’m a citizen of the New Jerusalem, but my home is Jesus – God’s Son!

This is what I ask of God. That I may dwell in His temple… Never to leave it.
To dwell in Christ as He walks down those streets of gold with the children that God has given Him. To gaze upon the beauty of God – all the days of my life – forever and ever, without end! This is what I live for… What my mind dwells on.

Amen

Change Must Come
by Vicki Blair

Change must come and always will come, says God. Learn to be adaptable and flexible. When your focus and anchor are in Me alone, all that is around you can change and you will never be moved.

Learn what is presented to you in each season and receive what is from Me with a grateful heart. But I will teach you a new thing and when you have embraced that, I will teach you something even greater still.

And God says, though you've wondered - did I receive what I was meant to receive? Know this - not only have you received the impartation intended for you, you gained so much more than you even know.

For the truth and ways of establishing My truth that came to be a part of your being also brought a transformation that even today you do not detect. But over time, says God, you will begin to see it played out before you as you step out according to my leading and begin to break out and speak forth that which is engrafted into your very spirit. And just as you endured change, so shall you bring change. And so shall you break ground and bring about new ways of doing things and causing shifts and movements and even re-molding mindsets and traditions.

So move with Me, says God. Allow no tie or snare to hinder you or trip you up. Look to Me and keep your focus on Me, says God.

God wants the WORD to be in us...to BE us.

This morning at 3am amongst other things, God woke me up and I saw a vision of a mirror. It was shaped like a door and slowly I started seeing myself in this mirror. God said: This is the Word. You are to be full of the Word and then the Word will reflect you, as the Spirit changes you INTO the image of Jesus, Who IS the WORD.

Jesus is coming back for "Himself" people. He is coming for the people of the WORD. As you read it, pray that God will supernaturally impart it into you, so that It will become part of you. Believe the Word and the Spirit of God will change you. The Bible says:
The Kingdom is in your heart (where you believe) and in your mouth (you say what you believe)

I am giving you these scriptures . They tell us that God wants to reproduce Christ (The Word) IN us and make us perfect, HERE and NOW on this planet. Just by believing that Jesus has done it all at the cross and that the Word is Him and its alive and true and living in your heart.

(2 Thes. 1:10-12) when he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be marvelled at in all them that believed (because our testimony unto you was believed) in that day. (11) To which end we also pray always for you, that our God may count you worthy of your calling, and fulfil every desire of goodness and [every] work of faith, with power; (12) that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and ye in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.

(2 Cor. 3:18) But we all, with unveiled face beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are transformed into the same image from glory to glory, even as from the Lord the Spirit.

(Col. 3:4) When Christ, [who is] our life, shall be manifested, then shall ye also with him be manifested in glory.

(Gal. 4:19) My little children, of whom I am again in travail until Christ be formed in you.

(Col. 1:27,28) to whom God was pleased to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: (28) whom we proclaim, admonishing every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ;

(2 Cor. 4:10,11) always bearing about in the body the dying of Jesus, that the life also of Jesus may be manifested in our body. (11) For we who live are always delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus[color=#FF0000] may be manifested in our mortal flesh.

(Eph. 3:14-19) For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father, (15) from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, (16) that he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, that ye may be strengthened with power through his Spirit in the inward man; (17) that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; to the end that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, (18) may be strong to apprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, (19) and to know the love of Christ which passeth knowledge, that ye may be filled unto all the fulness of God.

(Eph. 4:11-15) And he gave some [to be] apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; (12) for the perfecting of the saints, unto the work of ministering, unto the building up of the body of Christ: (13) till we all attain unto the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a fullgrown man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: (14) that we may be no longer children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, in craftiness, after the wiles of error; (15) but speaking truth in love, we may grow up in all things into him, who is the head, [even] Christ;

It reminds me of BaskinRobbins icecream! Many flavors ~ but same ice cream! Same here. We are many different flavors; but it is all the same "Jesus". Cornelius favored Jesus.....Miki flavored Jesus, Diverteach flavored Jesus, etc. etc. etc. Dani flavored Jesus! Rosie flavored Jesus.........this is just getting gooder and gooder.....

In the spirit, we are all to enjoy each other's Jesus and to know one another by the spirit. My favorite flavor is Chocolate-peanutButter! Time to try some different flavors......

If we don’t repent and believe the word, we cannot have what it says.

That is very clear. It is conditional to faith. That is why we see so many people walking without victory in their lives. The have no faith in the Word.

The false prophet is teaching people that they are only saved and that they cannot be perfect in this life. Well, the Word disagrees with that, and those who believe the false prophet, will not get that which the Word wants for them: Salvation. Why? Because without faith its impossible to please God. So work out your SALVATION with fear and trembling. How? By believing the Word, getting it INTO you. Have it in your heart and on your mouth.

Use the promises to clean your life of sin. Its forgiven, but now you have to learn to walk in victory . You do not need to sin anymore, allow the Holy Spirit to help you overcome.

Revelation 2:26
And he who overcomes (is victorious) and who obeys My commands to the [very] end [doing the works that please Me], I will give him authority and power over the nations;

Revelation 3:12
He who overcomes (is victorious), I will make him a pillar in the sanctuary of My God; he shall never be put out of it or go out of it, and I will write on him the name of My God and the name of the city of My God, the new Jerusalem, which descends from My God out of heaven, and My own new name.

Please note: this is for overcomers only.

How do you overcome: By having the Word (promises like: sin has no dominion over me...in your heart and believing it and saying it) The Bible in Romans tells us to "count" ourselves dead to sin. Only when you BELIEVE that you can achieve this by faith, will you have it. If not: you will NOT overcome.

(1 Cor. 15:1,2) Now I make known unto you brethren, the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye received, wherein also ye stand, (2) by which also ye are saved, if ye hold fast the word which I preached unto you, ]except ye believed in vain.

So the Word tell us: You must hold fast to the Word, because if you do not, you could have believed in vain.

My favorite promises

21 So Jesus answered and said to them, "Assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but also if you say to this mountain, 'Be removed and be cast into the sea,' it will be done.
22 And whatever things you ask, believing, you will receive."

20 So Jesus said to them, "Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.
21 However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting."

In verse 21 of matthew 17 he tells us how we can obtain that kind of faith. No doubt, by following His example of Prayer and fasting.

5 And the apostles said to the Lord, "Increase our faith."
6 So the Lord said, "If you have faith as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, 'Be pulled up by the roots and be planted in the sea,' and it would obey you.

People of obedience

Dori Willson

I gave my people a vision

and bid them go with me,

but they just chatted together

deciding what this could be.

I told them to step out in faith

for I would go on ahead,

but they just chatted together

weighing up what I had said.

I want a people of obedience

- those who will go with me

without disbelief and fear

of a way they cannot see.

I will fulfill my purposes, so

will you walk along my way,

as a people who are obedient,

who respond to what I say?

My promises to you stand firm,
- cast your unbelief and fear away.

Commit yourself to my vision

- step out in faith today.
(I feel that we need to have the times of chatting together & weighing up words but it is the lack of follow through in action when it personally relates to us that I felt the Lord was saying.)

As I type this I see a series of stepping stones across a vast river of life. It is as if each stepping stone is a word. Any more views on this?

Promises
LoisFaith2000
Hi Ch
Hi Jh:

Look up, for there is an open heaven above you. I am bringing you into the reality of covenant promises in these days of the latter rain. And, I will wipe away your tears and wash away the defilement and disappointment of days gone by. I am going to breathe on you to release resurrection life and liberty. Encourage yourself and take heart, for this is not the time to sit down or give up. Move in to the days ahead with new hope and vigor, says the Lord, for I am with you.
Psalms 31:24 Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart, all you who hope in the LORD.

I AM strongly moving you into new territory. You have never been here before. Yes, it is a land full of giants, but the harvest of the land will be yielding your promises, and your way is being prepared for the taking.

Precious, you can not move in, until you allow Me the completion of what I began years ago. Release to Me the places in your heart that are your first loves. Get rid of the hindrances that weigh heavy upon your soul and your spirit: your time, your health, your money and your body. Give Me access in each of those hidden storage closets. As I shine My light upon these matters, simply yield them to Me and grant Me ownership.

If you hold onto your life, you will lose it. However, if you give Me first place and surrender all else to My will, then you will find freedom to fly into your new place. I AM asking for these things, because I LOVE YOU. If you release them, you will finally understand they are not edifying, and you will finally learn how to love yourself as I love you. My love will always set you free. False lovers will only weigh down your soul. Let go, My beloved, return to Me!

Hos 2:14-17 NLT

"But then I will win her back once again. I will lead her out into the desert and speak tenderly to her there. I will return her vineyards to her and transform the Valley of Trouble into a gateway of hope. She will give herself to me there, as she did long ago when she was young, when I freed her from her captivity in Egypt. "In that coming day," says the LORD, "you will call me 'my husband' instead of 'my master.'

LABOR DAY 9/4

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LABOR TO ENTER INTO HIS REST!

Hebrews 4(amp)

1THEREFORE, WHILE the promise of entering His rest still holds and is offered [today], let us be afraid [[a]to distrust it], lest any of you should [b]think he has come too late and has come short of [reaching] it.
2For indeed we have had the glad tidings [Gospel of God] proclaimed to us just as truly as they [the Israelites of old did when the good news of deliverance from bondage came to them]; but the message they heard did not benefit them, because it was not mixed with faith (with [c]the leaning of the entire personality on God in absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness) by those who heard it; [d]neither were they united in faith with the ones [Joshua and Caleb] who heard (did believe).

3For we who have believed (adhered to and trusted in and relied on God) do enter that rest, [e]in accordance with His declaration that those [who did not believe] should not enter when He said, As I swore in My wrath, They shall not enter My rest; and this He said although [His] works had been completed and prepared [and waiting for all who would believe] from the foundation of the world.(A)

4For in a certain place He has said this about the seventh day: And God rested on the seventh day from all His works.(cool.gif

5And [they forfeited their part in it, for] in this [passage] He said, They shall not enter My rest.©

6Seeing then that the promise remains over [from past times] for some to enter that rest, and that those who formerly were given the good news about it and the opportunity, failed to appropriate it and did not enter because of disobedience,

7Again He sets a definite day, [a new] Today, [and gives another opportunity of securing that rest] saying through David after so long a time in the words already quoted, Today, if you would hear His voice and when you hear it, do not harden your hearts.(D)

8[This mention of a rest was not a reference to their entering into Canaan.] For if Joshua had given them rest, He [God] would not speak afterward about another day.

9So then, there is still awaiting a full and complete Sabbath-rest reserved for the [true] people of God;

10For he who has once entered [God's] rest also has ceased from [the weariness and pain] of human labors, just as God rested from those labors [f]peculiarly His own.(E)

11Let us therefore be zealous and exert ourselves and strive diligently to enter that rest [of God, to know and experience it for ourselves], that no one may fall or perish by the same kind of unbelief and disobedience [into which those in the wilderness fell].

12For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power [making it active, operative, energizing, and effective]; it is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the [g]breath of life (soul) and [the immortal] spirit, and of joints and marrow [of the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and sifting and analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart. 13And not a creature exists that is concealed from His sight, but all things are open and exposed, naked and defenseless to the eyes of Him with Whom we have to do.

14Inasmuch then as we have a great High Priest Who has [already] ascended and passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession [of faith in Him].

15For we do not have a High Priest Who is unable to understand and sympathize and have a shared feeling with our weaknesses and infirmities and liability to the assaults of temptation, but One Who has been tempted in every respect as we are, yet without sinning.

16Let us then fearlessly and confidently and boldly draw near to the throne of grace (the throne of God's unmerited favor to us sinners), that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find grace to help in good time for every need [appropriate help and well-timed help, coming just when we need it].

Amen Lois smile.gif

Here is one of my favourite Psalms, it is for our protection. But first lets look at the first verse in the Bible that mentions the word "word"...

Genesis 15:1
After these things the word of the LORD came to Abram in a vision, saying," Do not fear, Abram,I am a shield to you;Your reward shall be very great."

smile.gif So the FIRST mention of the Word is that it is a SHIELD.
Now lets look at Psalm 91

Ps.91:1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.91:2 I will say of Jehovah, He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in whom I trust.
91:3 For he will deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, And from the deadly pestilence.
91:4 He will cover thee with his pinions, And under his wings shalt thou take refuge: His is a truth shield and a buckler.
91:5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night, Nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
91:6 For the pestilence that walketh in darkness, Nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
91:7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, And ten thousand at thy right hand; But it shall not come nigh thee.
91:8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold, And see the reward of the wicked.
91:9 For thou, O Jehovah, art my refuge! Thou hast made the Most High thy habitation;
91:10 There shall no evil befall thee, Neither shall any plague come nigh thy tent.
91:11 For he will give his angels charge over thee, To keep thee in all thy ways.
91:12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, Lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
91:13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: The young lion and the serpent shalt thou trample under foot.91:14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
91:15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble: I will deliver him, and honor him.
91:16 With long life will I satisfy him, And show him my salvation.

Thank you Lord !
LoisFaith2000
This is intriguing:

Genesis 15:1
After these things the word of the LORD came to Abram in a vision, saying," Do not fear, Abram,I am a shield to you;Your reward shall be very great."

So the FIRST mention of the Word is that it is a SHIELD.
Now lets look at Psalm 91

The Lord says, "Fear not you inhabitants of this region, although shakings will come, and although the devastations will be around you to the right and to the left, remember the Lord’s writer of Psalms 91:7-12 who said":

‘a thousand shall fall at my side and ten thousand at my right hand, but it shall not come near me, because with my eyes I have beheld the reward of the wicked; for shall no evil befall me, neither shall any plague come near my dwelling, because the Lord has given His angels charge over me to keep me in their hands and they shall bear me up lest I dash my foot against a stone.'"

I am your shield and your buckler, I am your truth, under My wings shall you shelter yourself, and in the secret place of the Most High shall you abide. Now I promise you that I shall shelter you in times of calamity, in times of sickness, in times of devastation, because when I married you I said we would go through this thing together and I am a God of covenant."

above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the firey darts of the wicked one.
C
Yes Lois and it is also interesting that it was the word that appeared in the vision. Why did God say word? How does the word appear in a vision. This is very important, for it relates to :

John 1
1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

2The same was in the beginning with God.

3All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

4In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

5And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

So it was this Word that appeared in the vision to Abraham, and this Word identified Itself as a shield.

Genesis 15:1
After these things the word of the LORD came to Abram in a vision, saying," Do not fear, Abram,I am a shield to you;Your reward shall be very great."

Here in the next verse as well, the Lord is Israels shield
Deuteronomy 33:29
Happy are you, O Israel, and blessing is yours! Who is like you, a people saved by the Lord, the Shield of your help, the Sword that exalts you! Your enemies shall come fawning and cringing, and submit feigned obedience to you, and you shall march on their high places.

But now, the Lord has added the word SWORD to the revelation!

Isaiah 49:2
And He has made my mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of His hand has He hid me and made me a polished arrow; in His quiver has He kept me close and concealed me.

Revelation 2:16
Repent [then]! Or else I will come to you quickly and fight against them with the sword of My mouth.

Isaiah 59:17
For [the Lord] (Who is the Word) put on righteousness as a breastplate or coat of mail, and salvation as a helmet upon His head; He put on garments of vengeance for clothing and was clad with zeal [and furious divine jealousy] as a cloak .
1 Thessalonians 5:8
But since we are of the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet, the hope of salvation.

In Genesis is is shown (with John 1) that the Word is God. The Word became flesh and lived amongst us.

(I am sure if we search further, we are going to get the whole armour of God, relating to the Word.Maybe somebody can take this further. This just came about now, as I was adding to this topic.)

The Lord has been opening the link between Him and the Word to me lately. Its not news, but I am receiving a fresh revelation in my heart about it. Its so beautiful. The Word and how this Word is coming into us and changing us into the Word (which is Christ) So the more Word we have in us, the more like Christ we become....and when He (the Word) , finally comes again, we will be: Just like Him.!

When we are unified in worship, the enemies that war against us are set to flight. It is like creating this invisible shield in the Spirit realm, where things can't threaten us or affect us any longer. Things that seemed impossible from an earthly view are now entirely possible as we breathe in the majesty of our King. His love for us and His ability to take care of things is convincing, as we surrender our futile efforts to change things that God is already in control of.

The path of the upright is a highway. It leads upward for the wise. Commit to me and I will lead you.
It is I who will arm you with strength. It is I who will make your way perfect. I will train you for battle. I will give you the shield of victory. With my right arm I will sustain you. In the day of disaster, I will be your refuge.

> Those who know Me and do the things I do will be
> hidden under the wings of My Covering. I will shield
> their hearts from iniquity. As the whole earth mourns
> with grief, they will rejoice in gladness. I will
> preserve them from the troubles upon the earth, and
> increase them in the midst of great tribulation.
> While others suffer lack, they will prosper in every

I realised if I continued to defend myself I was going to keep causing the battle to continue and add to the pain. I took the scary decision to lower my sword. He raised his sword at me again and I thought “This is going to really hurt”. I shut my eyes and waited to feel the killer blow. Suddenly and unexpectedly several angelic arms appeared around me like a glowing shield. The sword hit their arms taking the impact and I was safe. I felt peace and knew there was a way through the battle in faith, love and rest that would not cause pain if I laid down my sword. The encounter abruptly ended and I was back in the living room. This was one of the most unusual visionary experiences I have had so far. It was almost real.

The Devil has spread rumours, lies, accusations and other malicious thoughts and words throughout the body of Christ. Some people have taken this stuff on board and are now attacking other Christians. Half the time they don’t even realise they are doing it. It can be so subtly – a criticism here, a judgement there, devaluing and so on. Others are just so hurt from the past they don’t know how to relate to others without control, manipulation or mistrust. This causes others harm and harms them. Others think they have the handle on the truth and won’t tolerate differences of doctrine or style. The enemy uses this to make people feel insecure, outcast & irrelevant.

We cannot speak badly of others in the church anymore or other styles of church. He’s calling us to stop defending ourselves when we get verbally attacked and to trust Him to defend us. We cannot continue like this. We must carry healing, love and forgiveness. As we do this the angels will cover us and protect us. We are safe in Him. We must walk in love.

Intercede for those things and people I show you.

Rely upon me. Do not be trapped in the snare of performance.

Once again, my light will guide the way.

Stand your ground. Do not give way.

Come closer to me so I may shield you.

The evil one will tempt you with what seems good.

My sword can pierce any armour. My word can heal any wound.

Mt 12:18 Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall shew judgment to the Gentiles.
Mt 12:19 He shall not strive, nor cry; neither shall any man hear his voice in the streets.
Mt 12:20 A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgment unto victory.
Mt 12:21 And in his name shall the Gentiles trust.

What is weaker than the bruised reed or the smoking flax? A reed that groweth in the fen or marsh, let but the wild duck light upon it, and it snaps; let but the foot of man brush against it, and it is bruised and broken; every wind that flits across the river moves it to and fro. You can conceive of nothing more frail or brittle, or whose existence is more in jeopardy, than a bruised reed. Then look at the smoking flax-- what is it? It has a spark within it, it is true, but it is almost smothered; an infant's breath might blow it out; nothing has a more precarious existence than its flame. Weak things are here described, yet Jesus says of them, "The smoking flax I will not quench; the bruised reed I will not break." Some of God's children are made strong to do mighty works for Him; God has His Samsons here and there who can pull up Gaza's gates, and carry them to the top of the hill; He has a few mighties who are lion-like men, but the majority of His people are a timid, trembling race. They are like starlings, frightened at every passer by; a little fearful flock. If temptation comes, they are taken like birds in a snare; if trial threatens, they are ready to faint; their frail skiff is tossed up and down by every wave, they are drifted along like a sea bird on the crest of the billows--weak things, without strength, without wisdom, without foresight. Yet, weak as they are, and because they are so weak, they have this promise made specially to them. Herein is grace and graciousness! Herein is love and lovingkindness! How it opens to us the compassion of Jesus--so gentle, tender, considerate! We need never shrink back from His touch. We need never fear a harsh word from Him; though He might well chide us for our weakness, He rebuketh not. Bruised reeds shall have no blows from Him, and the smoking flax no damping frowns.

From Spurgeon's Morning and Eve Devotional

To me, these are promises as well: that CHRIST shows grace and mercy to all believers, at all levels of maturity in HIM.

THAT was one of the most beautiful things I have ever read, Todd.

Christ said God can make the stones into the children of Abraham. I pray, may he then make what is already flesh into believers. wub.gif
