A GOOD RULE FOR READING

YAHWEH – is Gods name but a second name of Yahweh is ELOHIM.

Yahweh – Has to do with His attributes… grace ,,, mercy … love and justice.

Elohim………………creative works and things He does.

Adona – His ruler ship

So the thee basic names of the Father are: Yahweh, Elohim, and Adona.

Sometimes when your reading your bible if you’ll notice carefully the words
LORD and GOD all caps and other times the first Letter is capitalized …the letters following lower case as in Lord or God….

This is a rule to help us understand our Bibles.
When there are all caps ………………..

LORD/ GOD = YAHEW

First letter cap only….

God= ELOHIM – the creator

Lord= Adonai the ruler who controls our lives.

…………god – all small letters = pagan deities

Christ and Messiah are the same.

Moshiach is Hebrew for Messiah.

Christos - Greek for Messiah.

Christ – English Messiah.

Colossians 2 :19 And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God.

And He shall rule forever and ever. Jesus always was.
Grace of God is of Immeasurable favor ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,saved through favor.

Adonai

Adonai (Hebrew meaning "lord, ruler") is a name bestowed upon God in the Old Testament. It is retained in the Vulgate and its dependent versions, Exod., vi, 3; Judith, xvi, 16. No other name applied to God is more definite and more easily understood than this. Etymologically it is the plural of Adon, with the suffix of the possessive pronoun, first person, singular number. This plural has been subjected to various explanations. It may be looked upon as a plurale abstractum, and as such it would indicate the fullness of divine sway and point to God as the Lord of lords. This explanation has the endorsement of Hebrew grammarians, who distinguish a plurale virium, or virtutum. Others prefer to designate this form as plurale excellentiæ, magnitudinis, or plurale majestatis. To look upon it as a form of politeness such as the German Sie for du, or French volts for to is certainly not warranted by Hebrew usage. The possessive pronoun has no more significance in this word than it has in Rabbi (my master), Monsieur, or Madonna. Adonai is also the perpetual substitute for the ineffable Name Yahve, to which it lends its vowel signs. Whenever therefore, the word Yahve occurs in the text, the Jew will read Adonai.

"Let them praise the name of the LORD: for his name alone is excellent; his glory [is] above the earth and heaven." Psa 148:13

In the Old Testament times, a name was not only identification, but an identity as well. Many times a special meaning was attached to the name. Names had, among other purposes, an explanatory purpose (e.g., Nabal, whose name means "fool," is the target of Abigail's explanation to David: "For as his name is, so is he; Nabal is his name, and folly is with him:" - 1Sa 25:25). Throughout Scripture God reveals Himself to us through His names. When we study these names that He reveals to us in the Bible, we will better understand who God really is. The meanings behind God's names reveal the central personality and nature of the One who bears them.

Who is God to you?

Is He your Most High God, All sufficient One, Master, Lord of Peace, the Lord Who Will Provide? Is He your Father? We must be careful not to make God into an "it" or a "thing" to which we pray. He is our Jehovah Raah, the Lord our Shepherd. God knows us by our name, shouldn't we know Him by His?

Hallowed be Your name?

To hallow a thing is to make it holy or to set it apart to be exalted as being worthy of absolute devotion. To hallow the name of God is to regard Him with complete devotion and loving admiration. God's name is of the utmost importance (Neh 9:5); therefore we ought reserve it a position of grave significance in our minds and hearts. We should never take His name lightly (Exd 20:7; Lev 22:32), but always rejoice in it and think deeply upon its true meaning.

God sent His power into the world so that the world might be saved.

Anybody who believes in the power of God will be saved.

The power of God was not sent into the world to judge the world, but to save the world.

There is power in the name of God.

Jesus Christ is not the name of God, but the power of God.

God's name is. I AM. The Lord God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob,

14 And God said to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM." And He said, "Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, 'I AM has sent me to you.' " 15 Moreover God said to Moses, "Thus you shall say to the children of Israel: 'The Lord God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you. This is My name forever, and this is My memorial to all generations.'

I like that. Why? Because it is true. I AM implies "always has been always will be" I noitice in scripture that when called by God, men always said back to Him, "Here am I." Example...

1Sa 3:4 That the LORD called Samuel: and he answered, Here [am] I.

I have seen a few debates about this subject of the name of God. I think we ought to remember Jesus' last name is not Christ. That is an untranslated Greek word meaning "anointed One." Jesus never spoke English all that much so I suspect it is an exercise in semantics to cry foul for our useages. I have it on good authority that Jesus speaks Texan also.
