I have a circumstance that occurs to me while sleeping. I will partially wake but be paralyzed. My head seems to vibrate severely like a strong buzzing feeling. I can only move my eyes and I am very awake at this point. I will be able to see my surroundings, but I will feel a real sense of dread. I am not scared mind you, but I will say the Lord's prayer in my mind, and the occurrence will subside afterwards. these episodes last three to four minutes and have never occurred any other time than when I have been sleeping. This has occurred to me ever since I returned from the mediteranean 17-18 years ago.
Does anyone have any thoughts or related experiences to help explain this?

Frank,
I experience a similar thing every morning as I awake. As you said , there is no fear, but often a dreadful feeling. I pray also, I give the day to the Lord and ask him to help me to walk on the narrow path. I also pray about what ever or who ever comes to my mind.
I have never analized why this happens.... I guess it started about two years ago when God called me to investigate His word.

What you are describing perfectly matches symptoms of sleep paralysis....a common sleep disorder.....in fact it's so common everyone will experience it at least once in his or her lifetime.....
