This is a good idea, and maybe we could cover each other in prayer.

I will start and say that on the street I live on we have two drug houses and have had problems with gangs and prostitution. (One drug house is directly accross the street from my home. Central location in the heart of Memphis.) This area that I live in is less than a block from the local school. We had problems with kids skipping school and entering an abandoned house on our street, during school hours. The house is up for aution for back taxes. This neighborhood, used to be a nice and safe environment, and many of the residents have lived here most if not all thier life. Please pray for protection on this city. I have seen the crime rate and the murder rates escalate in the last couple years. Also, pray for our local government. It seems our local government is becoming as corrupt as the street crime is.

This is a good idea. More people should post.

Here's what's going on in the place of my birth, Los Angeles.

State Senate Endorses Teaching of Gays' Historical Achievements
By Jordan Rau, Times Staff Writer
May 12, 2006

SACRAMENTO — Saying more role models could help reduce the social estrangement and high suicide rates of gay and lesbian students, the state Senate voted Thursday to require that the historical contributions of homosexuals in the United States be taught in California schools.

Apparently the first of its kind nationwide, the measure passed with no Republican support. It must also be approved by the Assembly and Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, who has taken no position on it. California's Legislature last year became the first to authorize gay marriage, but Schwarzenegger vetoed the measure.

Well the news for our little neighborhood went from bad to worse tonight. A woman was shot in the foot, by a man walking past her house! Then, we just heard about a church robbery and rape happening inside the church that was robbed. LORD send protection to us and help the police catch these criminals!!! blink.gif

Quick reply. I live in a SMALL village...1100 people. There are 8 sex offenders in our small community, and one lives kiddy-corner from us...and he molested a wee one under age 9. My wee one is not quite 6, so, yeah...he does NOT get to play outside unless Mommy or Daddy are with him. Praying daily that he moves, as I have exhausted all possibilities of forcing him out. Even tried using the fact that we home school, as my states considers a home school a private school, and law says he cannot live within 300 yards of a private school. State's attorney seems to feel "private school" doesn't include us. But, this guy and his mother know that WE know, as well as the fact that we have informed MANY people about him. So yeah, in this day and age, a criminal offender has more rights than upstanding citizenry. *Grumble*

Yes, I can do a check of sex offender's here thorough the local police agency online search. What bites me, is that so many of sex offender's fail to register with the state, and fall through the cracks...literally. I will be praying for the saftey of the wee ones in your care. Oh that just makes me angry to know that they get away with molesting innocent children.

May the LORD have mercy and protect your innocent children from these fiends. wub.gif I'll be praying.

Shaun, no I am not joking, and the church is only a few blocks from where I live. This is the sad truth of society today. wacko.gif

I live in a very secluded area.
I don't know what is going on around me, unless I have company over
and they tell me ohmy.gif unsure.gif laugh.gif

I sometimes think we are in a different planet around here or we
are stuck in Mayberry. Don't mind that kind of stuck really.

The biggest things happening around here is that we have a lot of
windmills going up 5 minutes from us around the lake area.

Is that breaking news or what? huh.gif

Oh and about an hour away there is a stand off between Indians and non indians about land rights. That is getting ugly.

ok my turn biggrin.gif whats happening in my place is:

there was a bomb yesterday that was planted in a mall this is the second time i think that happened on my place twice already but was apprehended thank God the first one was in ayala a bag was left outside of the mall the gaurds got suspicious they checked the bag and found out that there was a bomb inside they called the bomb squad and our bomb squad really stinks here coz one time a box was found outside of our house at night, the neighbors got suspicious and called the authorities they send in a bomb squad we didnt know what was going on coz we were already asleep then we heard a blast outside that woke us all up and turns out the bomb squad blew the box with some explosive and it was very near our house and they found out it was only a box and if it was a bomb i would be dead by now coz me and my mom was sharing rooms and the box was directly below us.

and this what happened in the other mall

Police Regional Office (PRO) 7 Director Eduardo Gador said Ali Usop, alias Datu Ismael "Alex" Usop, and Datu Niel Ulama, alias Victor Ulama Zimenez, were suspected members of the Rajah Solaiman Revolutionary Movement.

The Rajah Solaiman group has links to the Abu Sayyaf and the Indonesian-based Jemaah Islamiyah.

However, aside from what appeared to be a bomb, the police have nothing solid yet to tag Usop and Ulama who were believed to have left it at the mall entrance.

Gador told reporters Friday that after Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) operatives in Manila raided a house in Marikina last April, the subjects of the search warrant reportedly fled to Cebu.

Gador said intelligence operatives have been scouring Cebu trying to verify the information until two men were caught planting a bomb in front of one of the entrances of the SM City Cebu past 8 p.m. Thursday.

"We were aware of that report. We have conducted coordinating meetings to find out if they were able to arrive here," Gador said.

Deputy Regional Director for Operations Lani-o Nerez, also said that of the seven to eight persons, they learned two arrived in Cebu.

The two also reportedly got support from another Rajah Solaiman member who was based in Cebu.

Gador did not discount the possibility that the group wanted to disrupt the security preparations for the upcoming Asean summit in December and spark fear among the delegates, discourage them from attending or cancel the summit.

"That would be victory for them," Gador said.

Nerez for his part does not think the group was out to threaten authorities but to harm civilians, as terrorists do.

The mall was getting ready to close when the bomb was discovered.

Police feared the bomb would have gone off at 9 p.m., when shoppers would be rushing out of the mall to go home and those going to the last full show at the movie theaters would be entering.

The entrance where the bomb was placed is also beside the mall's jeepney terminal.

Gador also said that the incident had the Australian government "very concerned."

Officials have been busy preparing for the summit, which will have 18 heads of state and their delegations arriving to attend.

Gador said China alone had 300 delegates with them.

Usop had an SM Supermall identification card, a torn Superferry ticket that showed he traveled from Manila to Iloilo then to Cagayan de Oro before arriving in Cebu, a Qatar phone card, a used Smart call card, a Touch Mobile SIM card, a piece of paper with various numbers and P630 inside his wallet.

As for Ulama, he had a Landbank of the Philippines ATM card, RCBC moneycard, a piece of paper with a rough sketch, a voucher, P1,310 cash, one Qatar riyal and a piece of paper with the name Anna written on it and a cellular phone number.

At the area where the shootout took place, police recovered two .45 pistols each loaded with four bullets, 20 M16 shells, six 9mm shells, a live bullet each of a .45 pistol and 9mm, 14 empty shells, seven deformed slugs and a fragmentation grenade.

The Homicide Section has requested that an autopsy and paraffin test be conducted on the two men.

The diffused bomb was also taken to the Regional Crime Laboratory for lifting of latent prints.

Nerez said they were still verifying if Usop did work as a baker at the mall.

There were reports that the identification card found on him was for another branch of the SM malls in Manila.

Police called the bomb an improvised explosive device (IED).

It was made of two M76 rifle grenades, a detonating cord, electric blasting cap secured by black electrical tape, a butane lighter fluid canister, parts of a clock, two 9-volt batteries, an AA battery and wires all inside a shoebox.

Gador said the threat of terrorism has always kept them on their toes, even before it was announced the Asean summit was to be held in Cebu.

He said police agencies in Asean countries should coordinate closely and have a free flow of information to restrict the movements of terrorist groups.

Gador though believes that if the public remains vigilant and the police are energetic in their intelligence gathering, incidents such as that of last Thursday could easily be quelled.

For his part, Criminal Intelligence and Investigation Bureau chief Pablo Labra II said in a radio interview that the immediate reporting of the mall's security personnel led to the early detection of the bomb.

He said the public should not be afraid as long as they continued to help and report anything suspicious.

pls. ask me if you dont understand

thanks guys and the bomb thing happened years ago i think it was 5 or 4 years ago and oh yeah almost forgot

gangs are comming up in my place everywhere and the famouse bloods and crips are in my place they cause a lot of bad things thats making it unsafe to be in and making it unsafe to wear certain colors but they are nothing compared to the fraternities here the gangs here dont have much guns but the frats have guns and they'll shoot you if they think you are one of their rival frat but the authorities are taking control of the situation and the frats are in hiding but they might come up later well i dont have to worry about this guys i'll be meeting some of them when i get to college and thats next year but i have to be careful with these gangs well i no how to use CHI a lil bit but i'm not that good and even though chi has gotten into my eyes but i'm still slow and the effect of chi in your eyes is you can see week points and you could see fast movements ex is fast incoming attacks will seem slow but the reaction to defend is also slow hehehehe biggrin.gif there is nothing wrong about martial arts that uses chi it always depends on you

We have a lot of gang problems here, and ususally that is associated with illegal drugs and prostitution too. KAL, Mexican maffia, crips and the bloods, the list goes on and on. 9 times out of 10 they are illegal aliens bringing this stuff in under the gangs here. I have had first hand experience with some of the affects of the gang problem here...so please keep our family covered in prayer.

BTW, they usually lure in school age children and inniate them into the gang...some are told to drive by and kill someone...some are told to steal, etc. These kids, are led astray, and the parents have no way of knowing that thier child is involved with a gang until it is too late! These kids are lured into the gangs at alarmingly young ages too, 7 or 8 years of age now! blink.gif Our city murder rate has increased dramatically since the influx of these gangs. unsure.gif

Just to add some thought...not all illegals are good people. That is why they come here as illegals.
chrio39
That is so sad. Here in New Orleans, there aren't any gangs. The illegals here came to work in the wake of Katrina. We haven't had those problems here. I do pray that they don't seek to establish their presence here. Gangs are never beneficial. Even so come quickly Lord Jesus.

you know i dont get it why you have to be tough to be respected or to fit in like this gangs here and all over the world. these guys wanna to tell the world "do you want to mess with me?!" these guys wants to be tough they want to be feared coz they thinks its cool to be feared but i beat deep down inside of them they are scared coz they got nobody there parents mostly dont care about them and most of the time its hard to live there life thats why they have to be in gangs so that they could get protection and love but most of these are false

i hate this things i used to be one of these guys i used to be one of the most toughest guys in school and hell everyone loved me there but when i thought that it was wrong i stopped and everyone called me a loser i was pushed around and i was destroyed and thats why i joined martial arts to seek revenge to these guys but along my training i found out that martial arts is not about fighting but its about yourself, i found myself and i realized its not worth it to seek revenge and i learned to calm down and relax

You know, Chrio, I have worked with illegal aliens in the Restaurant industry in NY state. Most of them were too poor to pay for the paperwork to be processed to come here legally. They were hard working people, but they lived in fear of deportation...It only takes a few bad ones sneaking in to ruin things for the rest who came here seeking a better life. Many that came illegally, would eventually get the paperwork in order to be legal. It comes with a high price tag for them, and many here were gouging the prices at thier expense. It is a no win situation for so many of them. My heart goes out to all the ones who come here for the right reasons, but got caught up in what is happening now. It is truly sad. On the brighter side is most of the ones who come here and get thier paperwork in order, bring the family over and they become tax paying citizens.

We must keep all these people in our prayers. I have seen on the news how these illegal aliens were being robbed, by, guess who? The gangs, because they knew that they kept all thier money on them or in thier homes...hence more murders happening and then the US pays to ship the victum's body home for burial. This is a sad day in which we live. Memphis used to be such a nice place. When Katrina hit, Memphis took many of the displaced in...many of them were victumized by these criminal elements that have taken over our streets and communities.

I pray everyday that the LORD protects the innocent people and brings these thugs to thier knees, before JESUS. When looking at the gang links on the internet, you really begin to see the Bigger picture...it is terrorism 101, as far as I can see. They become terrorists, even if on a one on one basis. Anytime an innocent person is murdered for a innitiation or drug related shoot out, it makes me angry and I cry out to GOD. We need to be made more aware of these things and take action by putting it into our prayers.

You can ask most teens in public schools about a particular gang, and they know it better than the local police does. Now, that says something to me. ohmy.gif

Bogoy, you learned something that is a more powerful than what is in the world today. Yes, we must look at ourselves, and one by one bring moral issues back under the microscope. You have learned a valuable lesson. wub.gif
RosielovesJesus
Oh dear, I will pray for all that is mentioned here.
Gangs definitely are bad news whereever they go.

It is sad that so many young people say they only feel
close with their gang members. Are they missing out
on a real family life and looking for love in all the wrong places.

There is so much sadness in this world.
Today my son is picking up a young man to stay with us
for mother's day. He would rather stay here than with his step mom.
She yells at him all the time. She is letting him come here and
have mother's day with me. That is so sad to me. It would
break my heart if my children didn't want to spend mother's day with me.

Anyway this young man who is almost 18,loves coming to our place.
We shower him with so much love, it's a wonder he hasn't suffocated.
My son is so empathetic, like me his mama.

You never know who is staying here, but we thank the Lord that He
sent many our way.

We have been blessed by those who enter here and I pray we are a blessing to
all that do.

love you,
from,
rosie

We had a Christian protest in front of the court house in tyler tx yesterday. It was christian teen holding sign that said save our generation. It was a call to all christian and teens to take a stand for the name of christ and they started a bill of rights for teens stating stuff like remove certain things from televsion that inappropriate and things like that. Teen mania and some local churches held it. But apparently it was corrinated with other alike around the nation at the same time. Pretty cool that our youth is taking a stand. I was driving home from work and saw them. I stoped and signed my name on the bill of rights and they were singing praise songs on the court house lawns. It was really reviving to see that young one in my area standing up for the name of Christ. yall have a good one.
