A Re-visit to the Visions of the Bible Prophets
Is it possible that Rome and subsequent rulers of the Middle East before now (there have been several) are not in the scope of the visions of the Bible prophets ? Do they all skip time lapse from the northern Grecian rule (5th head wounded) before the first century and then pick up on the 70th week at the time of the end ? Rome is recorded in Scripture as a fact of history, but this is different than visionary prophecy.
Neither did Rome start out as two contemporary north and south dominions (2 iron legs) ruling the Middle East. Daniel's image jumps directly from the two bronze thighs (northern and southern Greek) to the two iron legs ..... nothing between. Rome's invasion of Israel was not until after the 69th week (70 A.D.) and certainly not part of the 70th. I think the people of the prince (Abaddon, the angelic beast from the abyss) that shall come will be those who follow him during the 70th week .... not the Romans in the first century.
If John were actually taken into the future to be shown the 70th week then the king position that "is" may be the "little" horn ruling a "smaller" 6th dominion at the beginning of the week, not a Roman king in the first century. Abaddon (who once "was" and "is not") then comes out of the abyss to rule over the little horn's smaller dominion (6th head healed). Next the little horn, human king of the north in the Middle East, expands the 6th into the 7th divided kingdom with 10 other kings. After this Abaddon incarnates the little horn and becomes the 8th king himself ruling in person over his 7th and last dominion (last head) which will terminate in 42 months (last half of the 70th week).
