Are you unsure about your salvation? If you are, so behind the link are some good points for you!

I don't agree with everything what link's writer has written, but there are many good points, which can help you to understand surety of salvation.

It really is a gift Jack.

Salvation is from Jesus, God in the flesh. He who believes will be saved. It is His Grace and Sacrifice for our sins that leads to salvation.

Salvation would not be possible, but through the shed blood of Christ.

Yea it’s like it’s too simple for them! Or maybe human nature kicked in and they feel as if they have to please God somehow to be safe – apart from what He did/does for us. Hey, even our faith is a gift so what the heck are these people talking about?

Our works (Good deeds) are born out of faith because we love God and want to please Him. They add absolutely nothing to the gift, otherwise it would be by works and no longer a gift. If someone thinks that their good deeds are going to get them into God's good graces they should realize that those kind of deeds are but filthy rags to Him! You want to please God - act out of faith! Those are the kind of deeds that honor Him. But remember, they have nothing to do with your salvation. Salvation is a gift - enjoy it and thank God for it.

I don’t know, maybe it’s just too simple for them!

Bottom line of course is that were very, very grateful to God.
More Truth oh God…

That's the amazing thing about believing in Jesus and having eternal life. People think it is SO simple by just believing that He died and was raised again for our sins, that there has to be a catch or we should get some kind of incentive for believing like throwing in a stereo or dvd
player .

God confounds the "wise" professers and scientists etc by making salvation so easy as far as believing that God is who He says He is, that they overlook it and try to "explain" it and they must have God come down in front of them for them to believe.
Sad really. Unfortunate. Even Biblically if an angel appeared to them and said Jesus is Lord, they still would need proof or try to explain it away. This I believe God knows.

First, I apologize for bumping an old thread. Second, I apologize for hijacking this thread, but as yet I cannot create threads and my question falls in line with the subject matter of this one rather nicely.

So, my question is this: Why does God require blood to forgive?

In reading OT and NT scripture, it seems the Biblical God is very fixated on the spilling of blood to attone for one's actions. This I do not understand. They very concept of Christian salvation is based on the bloody death of a human savior. For a person to enter heaven, blood must be spilled. Why? How does the spilling of blood cover the inadequacies of the soul? The whole concept is unfathomable to me, and that so many accept it without thinking about this seems strange. I have asked 3 local preachers this question and they seriously had no answer for me. Two of them gave me a generic "God works in mesterious ways" type response, and the other quoted some NT verse about how much God loves us.

If God loves us and is all powerfull, why is it that He can not forgive us for disobaying Him occasionally without a blood sacrifice? If it is impossible for Him to do, doesn't this destroy His "all-powerful-ness"? I can forgive a friend for lying to me, or even betraying me in some way, without demanding that he offer a blood sacrifice or accept the sacrifice of another.

I guess your answer would lie within the pages of the Bible. Understanding the blood atonement for sin goes way back...just about every indiginous people have had some form of sacrifice that included death of an animal or person to cover the sins of their people. The Hebrew beleif is no different in this aspect. It is when we understand the importance of the sacrifice that JESUS made so that we all can be free from our sins that this takes on a greater meaning. Only JESUS can take away the sins of the world. All you have to do is believe this. I really hope you get the answers you are seeking here. wub.gif

I JOHN 3:8...........................THE FIRST SINNER WAS THE DEVIL

CAIN.......DID NOT BELIEVE, HE WAS IN DENIAL OF THE WORD OF GOD. HE WAS A DEMONIC AND KILLED HIS BROTHER.
JOHN 8:44 ....THE DEVIL WAS A MURDERER FROM THE BEGINNING
IT WAS A MALIGNANT SPIRIT IN CAIN FROM SATAN THAT ACTED BY KILLING.

GEN. 3: 21 .................. the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them

Hebrews 10:4
For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.

Matthew 27:45-56 THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE.

WHY DID GOD WANT A BLOOD SACRIFICE FOR THE ATONEMENT OF SIN.. AND WHY DID HE BECOME THE ULTIMATE BLOOD SACRIFICE?

IT IS TO SHOW COST..................VALUE....................PRICE............MAGNITUDE......

THE COST OF SIN IS HIGH............
THE COST OF A SOUL IS HIGH..........

NO FRUIT OFFERING WOULD TAKE THE PLACE OF BLOOD OFFERING.

THE LOSS OF LIFE THROUGH BLOOD SHED........
IS AN EQUAL EQUATION....TO GAIN LIFE ETERNALLY.

A LIFE... FOR A LIFE................

THE ULTIMATE LIFE..................FOR LIFE ETERNAL

Strive for the mastery and patient continuance in well doing. My light and truth are revealed. Mortify your bodily deeds. Allow My Spirit to have the ascendancy. I have a plan of deliverance for you. Do not look back as Lot's wife. Plan for your future involvement in My Kingdom. Be clean and whole through obedience to My word. You will manifest much fruit in so doing. I will prune the tree. Abide in Me. I freely give you all things. Nothing can dislodge your union with Me.

Do not stagger at the promises of God. Do not be perplexed, for nothing is impossible to him that believeth. I have not brought you this far to see you destroyed for a lack of vision. You are worthy of My love. I am able to make you stand. My power is to those with a heart to do My will. Do not be shaken in mind or troubled in spirit. Hold fast the faithful word as you have been taught. Show forth a pattern of good works and sound speech. Adorn yourselves with the doctrine of God. Deny your worldly lust and live Godly in this present world. Communicate your faith effectively by acknowledging openly all that I have placed within you.

There is hope in thine end. Do not fear the enemy camp. When the enemy comes flooding in I will raise up a standard against him! Not a hair of your head shall perish! The coming wrath has no power over you! Build yourself up in your most holy faith as you pray in the Spirit. I look to those who are poor and of a contrite spirit, and tremble at My word. I extend peace like a river to you, and I comfort you like a mother. Do not fear, for I am the Good Shepherd! I succor those that are tempted. I will be with you through all of your tomorrows! <Amen>

So, my question is this: Why does God require blood to forgive?

In the blood is the life. The blood running thru your body is in protective tubes in a protective shell. When this body sheds its blood, it loses its life. Flesh and blood will not inherit the kingdom of heaven. Flesh is enmity against God. God is Spirit. God does not require sacrifice, He requires forgiveness. You have to learn forgiveness. Thruout the years of your life you learn. You are put thru the furnace of affliction and those who pass the test are given new life.
'In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, for without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.'
The guard poked Jesus in the side on the cross with his spear and out flowed blood and water.
Jesus said you must be born again by Spirit and water.
