Nite before last and yesterday morning, I really felt BAD. Headache, sinus ache, stuffed sinuses, runny nose. Wierd feeling stomach. I felt bad all over. Didn't work.

BUT, this past nite and this morning, I felt a LOT better. My wife gave me some of her allergy pills, but I was feeling fairly good at bedtime, so I didn't take any medecine. And I feel a LOT better.

I have a long-time friend in the Lord, Robert. He has sung and played the guitar in the local churches. He's a Holiness preacher in a small church which he built beside his home. He's quite a character, and we all love him dearly. He's a lot of fun. I went to his auto repair shop yesterday, so I asked him to put me on his prayer list for allergies. He said "All right, we'll take care of those sinuses".

And the Lord has done just that!

If you don't know what the Holiness denomination is, you've really missed out on a good thing. Typically, the preacher gets excited as he preaches, shouts, weeps, laughs, wipes sweat, most of the congregation is giving him plenty of loud amens and comments. When Robert preaches, he gets extremely red in the face, and wipes sweat with 2 handkerchiefs. His shirt gets wet all over.
Robert is famous for preaching "You young people, you need to pray 'Lord, please don't let me die and go to Hell'". And he weeps when he says it.
They normally have guitars, drums, horns, cymbals, tamborines, pianos, etc.
They emphasize personal Holiness, divine healing, speaking in tongues, tremendous emotion in praising the Lord, exuberant singing and playing upbeat music with plenty of volume.
When they pray together, everybody prays out loud, so none of the people knows what the others prayed. It's difficult to understand their words with so many talking at one time.
They believe that any little sin will cause immediate loss of salvation, so you must ask the Lord to "re-save" you as soon as possible after you sin. If the Lord came back while you're not saved, you'd miss the boat. (I dis-agree with them on that).
Typically, the Holiness churches are the poor, rural, farmers, trades people, blue collar. I guess the white collar are too sophisticated to show much emotion in the church-house.
I believe that a person may can lose their salvation for extreme sin. And, I dis-agree with the Holiness about losing salvation for every small sin.


It's just like Lazarus said when he came out of the tomb. He said "It's good to be alive!"
And may the Lord bless all those who have ever prayed for me. And the people shouted "Amen!".

My wife and 2 daughters have allergy problems, and I don't know that they're saved. Please pray for them.

If we fail to obey Your Words in the NT, we show how little faith we have in Your Word. Lord, give us Faith!

Lord, we confess that we have not believed like we should. Our best is not good enough, but You have counted us as righteous because of our faith in Your Gospel.

Thank You for Your healing. We praise You, we love You, we worship You, We ask You to fill us with Your Spirit. We ask for Your will to be done, and not our will.

Lord, it's not fun to be sick. We can be a better witness for You if we're not sick. We can help the poor better if we're not sick. I expect that we'll praise You better after Your healing.

Please help us to fellowship with You and Your people today. And send workers into Your harvest. Please make us to be humble and faithful, in good times and bad.

And please help me to lose 15 pounds.
Make us to walk in the Light of Your Word.

My vision is not perfect, but is adequate to keep working. With reading glasses.

I've had a Cat-Scan, and MRI. Blood pressure normal.

No tumor. No pain.

The brain fluid is too high, which is causing the retina around the optical nerve to tear. That tearing causes ir-repairable damage to the retina, so it's urgent to find the cause of the high brain fluid pressure.

There's probably 200 people praying for me here in the local churches.

They put me on Steroids to lower the brain fluid pressure. They said that total vision loss in both eyes is possible soon.

On the MRI, there are white areas within my brain which are un-usually large. And are probably not recent (probably have been developing for some time). The problem could be 4 or 5 things. They don't know yet. Go back to the neurological doctor Friday 8:30.


They saw the Holy Ghost in my brain and the Mind of Christ (just joking).
The white areas were pure Holiness. (joking)

I've got several good people in my family, extended family, and churches who would help me if I needed help, so I may be fine.

I woke up this morning with some sharp soreness in my hips (the steroids?), and thought about taking ibuprofin. But, instead, I walked around a little and prayed a little, and I feel much better.

Today:
They told me to stop taking the steroid pills.
They gave me a PPD test. To determine possible presence of TB tuberculosis. They're looking for an infection, etc which would cause high brain fluid pressure.

Monday 2PM
a spinal tap. They will draw fluid from my spinal column. looking for infections, etc. Plus that will relieve some of the high pressure of the fluid.

I feel pretty good. No pain.
Eyesight is a little fuzzy. I'm still working.

Things are OK.

I have no TB (tuberculosis). They read the PPD test on my fore-arm today. No big surprise there.

The nurse was an old high-school friend; good to see her again.

My body feels a little wierd all over. My mind seems to be in a little "fog" all the time. My vision is a little blurred. But I'm still working. I feel fairly good.

I had the spinal tap today. The fluid was clear and pretty. They'll do tests on it, looking for infections, etc.

no pain. I thought it would hurt. (about 9 hours later, it's now beginning to be a tiny bit sore in my back where they stuck the needle)

They put me on diuretic pills, to make me pee a lot.

they still don't know what the problem is. The doc said "you're an enigma". (He probably says that to everybody until he heals them.)

When I went into the doctor's office today, one of my fellow surveyors (competitors) was in there for a numbness (leg, face, tongue) on his left side. They're looking for possible problems (possible stroke?).

We put us on each other's prayer lists.
He's the biggest surveying company in the County. I'm the smallest (I have no employees). He probably has maybe 25 employees.

Good News!

2 weeks ago, my left eye was 20/20. My right eye was 20/200 legally blind.

Today, the condition of my condition is:

Both eyes are 20/20. I had another eye exam today by the same doctor.

??????????????????

The doctors have not treated me at all. So far, they're looking for a reason for my problem.
So, what caused the change? We don't know. Unless it's a miracle. Until proven otherwise, we are giving Jesus the credit.

I was sort of teasing and joking with my twins today. I asked one "What caused the eye to go from 20/200 to 20/20 in 2 weeks?". She said "It's a miracle, Daddy". Her sister grinned and said "It's a Christmas miracle." I laughed and said "OOOOHHHH, that would be too perfect".

If I understood the doctor right,
The brain fluid pressure is still too high, and they don't know the cause yet. The report from my spinal tap is not available yet.

I am to see a specialist (neurological/ophthamologist) Wednesday week (dec 29). If she can't figure something out, we may just live with the problem.

They had mentioned the possibility of Multiple Schlerosis (spelling?), but they're thinking that that's unlikely.

Some Christians in our area are known for emphasizing divine healing (like the Holiness and Pentecostal denominations).

Other Christians are perceived as not emphasizing divine healing (such as the mainstream denominations).

Years ago, someone asked my friend (he was Free Will Baptist) "Do you believe in Divine Healing?"

He said "I believe that every healing is divine".

Sounds like a true miracle to me

I have had good (physical) health and vision all my life. Both eyes.

3 years ago, I began to use $7 wal-mart reading glasses, just in the office, for medium and small print. I could read newsprint, but the reading glasses just made it a lot easier to read.

5 weeks ago, it seemed like my vision was doing something wierd, and I even needed reading glasses in the field-work, like reading my computer, which is fairly small print.

2 weeks ago, my first eye exam:
Right eye, 20/200 legally blind
Left eye, 20/20
The doc told me that the damage in my right eye was un-repairable, even with the greatest doctors and the latest techniques.

I hadn't realized that one eye was fine, and one eye was not right. Until the exam.

on Monday dec 20:
second eye exam by same doctor
both eyes were 20/20
I had thought that my vision was getting better a few days before that, but I certainly didn't realize that i was back to perfect. I'm still using reading glasses for small print (it just makes reading easier)

Is it a sin to be surprised when I get what I prayed for?

I told the doc that I had about 4 churches praying for me. (i hit the panic button 2 weeks ago, I called several people for prayer, and they put me on their church prayer lists)

Is it a miracle? I believe that it is.

BUT, the brain fluid pressure is still too high, if I understood the doc right (I should have asked him more questions).

I have an appointment with a specialist wednesday. dec 29

Why didn't Jesus fix everything?
Why did Jesus allow me to be sick in the first place? He could have given me perfect health all my life! Is He going to strike me down with the Fire of God from Heaven (lightening bolt) for asking such questions?

I believe that sometimes I am sick (or bankrupted, etc) because of sin in my life.
Sometimes, it's not my sin, but it's God's school-house, or He's testing my faith, or, He wants me to experience sickness so that I won't become proud, or I can sympathize better with the sick, or I can be more effective in ministry to the sick. There are many possible reasons. God may be dealing with my wife's and children's hearts, by giving us a scare with my (possible) blindness. And giving us a (Christmas) miracle.

If we always have good health, pleasant days, good govt, prosperity, peace, good vision, etc, Then we might become spoiled, proud, etc. We wouldn't know how to appreciate the Light if we've never experienced darkness. We can't truly love the Lord as we ought, until we have known Satan and his followers.
How can we learn and appreciate love, until we've been hated?
Do we truly appreciate Truth, until we've experienced the Liar and his lies?
There is tremendous learning for us to do in this life. And suffering is necessary.
Suffering produces character.
Bad health (a newborn baby who is born sick) is a consequence of our Original Sin (there's a lesson in that for us. Let's stop sinning).


It may simply be a witness to the nations. This message is on the WORLD-wide web!
It may be a spiritual attack from Satan. May the Lord rebuke you, Satan. You shouldn't blind people.

Dennis when I was born I was born with heart and lung failure and had to be kept alive by an incubater.(I was born 7 weeks premature)The doctors told my parents it was unlikely I'd live more than a week or so that they should prepare for my death.But they tried this medicine on me only giving to elderly people for heart and lung problems to see if it would work.Guess what It did.Praise God.
So I guesss this is down to Original Sin..

Wether they prayed for a miracle I do not know..

A few of my family and extended family, at our family reunion/christmas party, were calling my condition a miracle (or christmas miracle, sort of as a joke). And it does seem (at least) half-believable that it IS a true miracle (How does an eye go from 20/200 legally blind to 20/20 in a week without a miracle?)


But, I can't tell that it had much impact on the un-believers at the party.

It made me think of:
They're walking in Blind-ness and Dark-ness, and un-belief, un-repentance, rebellion.

I'm excited and awed by my apparent miracle. They're not interested.
They're more interested in telling a funny story, or "What condiments do I want on my hot dog?"

great to hear of your miracle...believe it and keep it. Don't let unbelievers cause you to doubt....accept God's gift of love in your healing and rejoice...if others don't seem interested ...it doesnt matter as your testimony of God's healing grace has still gone into their mind even if they don't acknowledge it openly..there spirit has had a witnesss. So who knows when they need a miracle in their life they will come to you for guidance...as you are living proof!!!!
at the end of the day they may ignore or scoff at your miracle BUT YOU are the one with 20/20 vision now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You don't have to get by with poor eyesight...You are walking in your salvation now, you are being restored and walking in restoration NOW.
Next time you pray for something big you can use your miracle of Gods love for you in your healing as faith and confidence that HE not only HEARS your prayers BUT ANSWERS them to..

Forgive me for stating the obvious (??), but in case some have not thought of it:

We had hurricanes (extra-ordinary big ones) on the Jewish Holy days recently.

Now we have a Christmas Earthquake, tsunami, and Flood (a Christian Holy Day), the largest one in 40 years (9.0 Magnitude).

If I remember right, 40 is symbolic (in the Bible) of Judgement. 40 days of rain for Noah's flood, 40 years of wandering in the wilderness, Jesus fasted in the wilderness 40 days, etc

In the news articles, some of the words used to described the tsunamis were similar to "flood" (Noah's Flood ?).

Will we get something drastic on each of the Christian Holy Days this year?

What does the number 9 symbolize?

Daniel said that the end-times would come with a flood. (What did Daniel mean by that?)

Why did Jesus give us a disaster on the day that we celebrate His birth?

I tried to get this post to rhyme, but I'm not as talented as Ted.

The hospital and doctor bills for my eyes, MRI, spinal tap, etc are somewhere in the neighborhood of 4000 or 5000 dollars so far. Hopefully, my insurance will pay some of it. I don't know how much.

I went to a neurologist/ophthamologist yesterday, dec 29 2004

She said:
Everything looked good so far. 20/25 vision.
She could see that there are still some problems in the retina, and the optic nerve. Both eyes.
Swelling of the optic nerve. both eyes.

It could be high brain fluid pressure, OR it could be an infection, such as cat-scratch-fever, which is causing the swelling and inflammation of said nerves.
They took 4 blood samples, they're looking for infections, etc.

Cat-scratch-fever (no, that's not a joke) is easily treatable, with anti-biotics. The cat catches a certain disease, and the fleas help transfer that disease to humans. We have about 8 cats.

Was it Bob Sieger (spelling?) that sang a Rock song "Cat-Scratch-Fever"?

Now, we're waiting for the results of the tests.

I heard today that it was Ted Nugent (spelling?) that had a song about Cat-Scratch-Fever.

The Doctors have found nothing wrong, no infections, no Cat-Scratch-Fever, no tumors,

But, my optic nerves are still swollen, and we don't know the cause.

There are other things we can try.
We can map the blood vessels in my brain (sounds expensive). Using MRI technology. My MRI was about $4000. But there could be 2 more MRI's to go. More thousands of dollars?

I've already spent roughly $5000.
I feel good. I have good vision. But, the doc says, we shouldn't stop now. If we stop spending money now, it will affect my vision later on in life.

Should I quit on this project? Or keep spending money on doctors?

Brothers and sisters, please ask the Lord to guide my decisions. I certainly don't know what to do!

The reason the Drs. want to go forward is because optic nerve selling is a serious symptom of something else. You know it's not hypertension so some of the things that are left have negative consequences if untreated. My personal opinion from researching this condition online would be to go forward.

Lord l pray for Dennis. Help him make a decision. Help the Drs. understand where this symptom is coming from. Let mercy and Grace be his security and the knowledge of your love his strength.

I had a similar situation this last year where my retina actually tore in three places inside my eye in the back of the wall. I had to have laser surgery, and BC/BS covered it completely. They were worried because of the fluid pressure or something in my eye.. If you have this situation where you see a dark dot in your vision, get it checked out immediately because if you don't you will go blind. Luckily my wife is a nurse and she is familiar with htis type of symptom. The Dr. said I was extremely lucky that I didn't go blind.

They still do not know why this type of tear occurs, and I have to have an exam every year to ensure that more tears do no occur.


Lord I lift dennis up to you, your mercy will overcome any affliction. You are so mighty Lord. Please bless our friend dennis with a speedy recovery.

Simple,

That surveyor was having numbness and pain in the left side of his body, not eye trouble. No connection with me. We were in the neurologist clinic.

My BC/BS has a $5000 deductible. My bill for 2004 will be roughly 5000 or more. My bill for 2005 will be ???????????
So, I'm thinking that the total bill for everything (for me to pay) could be 10,000 or more. I don't know.

There are tears in my retina (in my right eye), but I have no dark dot in my vision, and my vision is 20/25 in both eyes. My peripheral vision was checked (good). At the last check, everything checked good. Except my optic nerves are swollen, but my vision is good.

Lord I also want to thank you for being the hands of the surgen that has given my brother back his feelings in his arms and hands. His second neck surgery went so well and he is healing pretty good. When I talked to him yesterday he said this
"I now believe in God more then I ever had before. I don't know why so many ppl are hurt, but I believe that God has answered my prayers and my childrens."

It brought tears to my eyes hearing him speak about God. In the past talking about God was a no no to him. Now he mentions God in every conversation we have and for that I am so greatful. He is not a professed christian but I know that God is still working on him. I have prayed for my brother for many many years and now I see those prayers being answered....THANK YOU JESUS

Update on the condition of my condition:

My ophthamologist (eye doc) said about 3 weeks ago, "I've run out of ideas. I don't have any more tests to run on your eyes. I'll ask my Society of Ophthamologists if they have any ideas".

My neurologist said, 2 weeks ago, "I'm going to observe you for a month". Which is code (I think) for "I've run out of ideas. I don't have any more tests that I could run on you".

About 2 days ago, I noticed:
My right eye is good vision.
My left eye has a blurred spot in the center of my vision (where I'm trying to look).

When I first went to the doctors, my right eye was bad vision. And the left was 20/20.

Now the right is fine, and the left is bad.

I don't know what is going on.
Maybe, I should use my "third eye". I'm a Hindu, now. (just joking)

My vision is good enough to do what I want to do. I'm using dime-store reading glasses. I bot bi-focal reading glasses from Wal-Mart a week ago. $17.00

The Bible says: Judgement starts with the household of Faith.
The NT says to the early Christians (and to today's Church): Confess your sins to one another. (in the Church)

It's been mentioned by others on this Forum. Judgement starts at the household of Faith.

For a few years, I've been guilty of too much girl-watching (the main source of my guilty-feelings. My worst sin, as far as I know).
For the last 3 months, I've had tremendous problems with my eyesight. The doctors tell me that I WILL go blind. They don't know anyone that can fix it. Papilladema. (spelling?).

Is my Papilladema a judgement from God? I don't know. Maybe. (I'm thinking, probably). And this end-time stuff can be a little scary. If this mild-trib is scary, what will the Lake of Fire be? A lot scary, and painful?
Is this judgement on me related to the end-times? I don't know. Maybe. I'm of the household of Faith. I've sinned (girl-watching). This is the End-times.

It's been on my mind for 2 or 3 days.

It's an old saying, "Confession is good for the soul."
One of the requirements for forgiveness of sin is confession of sin.

Shekel said on his website," God is demanding that the North American Churches must repent, or God will hit all of North America with nuclear bombs".

The NT says, "Judgement starts with the household of Faith. The best that the best Christian has ever done is as filthy rags to God. Our best is not nearly good enough. If the Righteous are barely saved, what will be the end of the wicked?

I confess my sins, and I ask for His forgiveness, and I ask for the Church's forgiveness.

I urge all the world to confess, repent and believe, before it's too late.

A stark reminder, and thanks for all of that input....your absolutely right...our efforts are really as filthy rags to god if you really think about it...I for one am ashamed, I could do so much better as a christian.

I pray God will spare your eyesight Dennis. I believe he will honor your confession. Sometimes the punisment remains...But l pray God will spare you.

As individuals we all need to confess our sins. It begins on an idividual level.

I would also add that God died for our sins commited yesterday today and tomorow.

Your justified. Period.

Sanctification is in process but l too feel God is in a jurry. I meant hurry but maybe the misspell is accurate too.
