Labor pains of the birth of Zion.
1 Thessalonians 5
3 For when they say, "Peace and safety!" then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape.
Micah 4
9 Now why do you cry aloud? Is there no king in your midst? Has your counselor perished? For pangs have seized you like a woman in labor.
10 Be in pain, and labor to bring forth, O daughter of Zion, Like a woman in birth pangs. For now you shall go forth from the city, You shall dwell in the field, And to Babylon you shall go. There you shall be delivered; There the Lord will redeem you From the hand of your enemies.
Isaiah 42
14 "I have held My peace a long time, I have been still and restrained Myself. Now I will cry like a woman in labor, I will pant and gasp at once.
15 I will lay waste the mountains and hills, And dry up all their vegetation; I will make the rivers coastlands, And I will dry up the pools.
16 I will bring the blind by a way they did not know; I will lead them in paths they have not known. I will make darkness light before them, And crooked places straight. These things I will do for them, And not forsake them.
Revelation 12
2 Then being with child, she cried out in labor and in pain to give birth.
Isaiah 66
7 "Before she was in labor, she gave birth; Before her pain came, She delivered a male child.
8 Who has heard such a thing? Who has seen such things? Shall the earth be made to give birth in one day? Or shall a nation be born at once? For as soon as Zion was in labor, She gave birth to her children.
9 Shall I bring to the time of birth, and not cause delivery?" says the Lord. "Shall I who cause delivery shut up the womb?" says your God.
Jeremiah 4
31 "For I have heard a voice as of a woman in labor, The anguish as of her who brings forth her first child, The voice of the daughter of Zion bewailing herself; She spreads her hands, saying, 'Woe is me now, for my soul is weary Because of murderers!'
Jeremiah 6
24 We have heard the report of it; Our hands grow feeble. Anguish has taken hold of us, Pain as of a woman in labor.
25 Do not go out into the field, Nor walk by the way. Because of the sword of the enemy, Fear is on every side.
26 O daughter of my people, Dress in sackcloth And roll about in ashes! Make mourning as for an only son, most bitter lamentation; For the plunderer will suddenly come upon us.
27 "I have set you as an assayer and a fortress among My people, That you may know and test their way.
28 They are all stubborn rebels, walking as slanderers. They are bronze and iron, They are all corrupters;
29 The bellows blow fiercely, The lead is consumed by the fire; The smelter refines in vain, For the wicked are not drawn off.
30 People will call them rejected silver, Because the Lord has rejected them."
Jeremiah 30
6 Ask now, and see, Whether a man is ever in labor with child? So why do I see every man with his hands on his loins Like a woman in labor, And all faces turned pale?
7 Alas! For that day is great, So that none is like it; And it is the time of Jacob's trouble, But he shall be saved out of it.
8 'For it shall come to pass in that day,' Says the Lord of hosts, 'That I will break his yoke from your neck, And will burst your bonds; Foreigners shall no more enslave them.
9 But they shall serve the Lord their God, And David their king, Whom I will raise up for them.

OK, I'll bite. But just a small bite.
I home birthed a male child for the woman who works for us on another farm. Quite an ordeal.
She is filled with the Lord and when pains began in the middle of the night, she called to her husband to come and he did quickly! She said "Robert! Speak the word!" And he spoke in tongues and the contractions continued but the pain had stopped immediately.
When she was ready to deliver, the baby would not drop and he demanded it as it's father to COME and it dropped. He praised and prayed in the Spirit and claimed his authority over his son and the order of authority was established.
He was sent out of the room when the final pushing began and when the pushing gave way to pain I looked at her straight in the face and did as the Lord Jesus had told me to do while driving to the house in the middle of a very dark night. He had said, "Tell her look at me on the cross. Tell her to see my face in her mind and to keep that image." I told her to do that, in no uncertain terms, and the pains of the pushing stopped suddenly and she relaxed and said, "You are good at this." I explained that I was only repeating what the Lord had told me to tell her.
That child was born with the least amount of fuss and pain that I have ever witnessed.
First, I believe it took a Spirit filled mother and father. Next, it took the woman who stood at the door just as prayer warrior. And it took the rest of us just doing what we were told to do. No more and no less.
I think the birth of a nation is much the same. It would be painless, or relitively so, if the Spirit was involved. There are so many people praying for the Holy Nation to come; but, not everyone in the room is doing what they are being told to do. The nation as it is now will not accept the Spirit of the Lord. That means no one has authority because the chain of authority is nonexistant for nonbelief.
And so there is pain. It can be no other way.

I remember there was pain with mine...but I don't remember the pain.
I DO remember all the times we laugh now that it is over!

That's a great story.
I once read a story about a a baby girl that was born with the, water-thingy still intact, like she was inside a capsule. She was starring out from inside her bubble to the others that delivered her. Don't know if that was true but it sounded like a blessed birth to me.

Wow Leia. I agree with the others... that was just great.
I am fascinated, truly awed by the entire birth process. Conception, development, labor, and then birth.
You are right- there must be pain.
Sin is the very reason for the labor pains.
BUT YES MIKI, JOY COMES IN THE MORNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh what a day. What a day that will be!
Until then, all of creation groans for His return.

When my son Dennis was born his mothers water broke so we rushed to the hospital where she was examined by the doctor because she had no labor pains. The doctor supposed it was going to be a while. She had her first labor pain a few minutes later and while they were waiting to time the second she started giving birth. She gave birth before they reached the delivery room. I seem to remember only a few cuss words that were spoken by her over her two labor pains. My daughter’s birth however lasted a whole three hours and again her water broke first with no labor pains. I had trained for lamaz the first time but it went so fast that there was no time to implement it. The second time was so short there wasn't much to it either, a few deep breaths and breathing exercises and it was all over.

That made me think ... that Israel has experienced pain ever since its birth in 1948.
Wonderful post Leia
I have two boys.
Oldest was 6# 13oz at birth. (He wanted a sibling.)
Youngest was 10# 10oz at birth. (No more siblings!)
I did the epidural... but it wasn't in right. I felt all 10# 10oz of the 2nd boy. The epidural ended up in my intestines... it paralyzed the intestines for a week. That first BM after the birth was just like giving birth again!
I don't remember pain with the first one. I remember plenty of pain with the 2nd.

Poor Israel. Simply a micro to the rest of our macro. They take alot of our pain so that we can even know the releif of being without pain.
And, yes, there will be glory after they acknowledge the Lord of Lords for who He is and the New Jerusalem in in place, but it is hard going through it with her now.
And I think that we are not being a very good mid-wife. Those of all the earth's countries that have aided in allowing their land to be chipped away and holey places to be defiled will pay the price for it, I think. All for the love of material.
But that is the real war, is it not? Spiritual vs materialism?
