“What are you looking at?” my best friend asked.
“Big problem,” I replied.
“Whose problem?” he questioned.
“Mine!" I said, exasperated.
“Oh,” he said, “how long have you had this problem?”
“Twenty-five years,” I said like it was an eternity.
“There's something I want you to see,” he said, excitedly changing the subject.
“What?” I said, catching his excitement.
“I’ll show you," he said, “But first you have to look at me.”

Later...
“What are you looking at?” my best friend asked.
“Big problem,” I replied.
“Whose problem?” he questioned.
“The church,” I said all frustrated.
“Oh,” he said, “what do you see?”
“Spots and wrinkles, they’re everywhere!”
“There's something I want you to see,” he said, excitedly changing the subject.
“What?” I said, catching his excitement.
“I’ll show you,” he said, “But first, you have to look at me.”

Later...
“What are you looking at?” my best friend asked.
“You Lord,” I said with a sheepish smile.
“Good plan,” he said with eyes so loving I wondered why I had ever looked anywhere else.

This is so True! How many times do we do this very thing.
I know for me more than I care to admit.
