what would Jesus be like, here, today?
would he even be involved in politics of this world?
what would he say?
what would he do?
how would he be?

He would BE the same as he was.
the same as he always was, is, and will be.

he was crushed, as grapes for wine, ground, as barley for bread,
between the religious and political leaders that existed in his day.

those same ones do not exist any longer.
herod is dead.
the pharisees are dead.

but their leaven lives on...

and it is still in this world.

pay attention.

beware of the leaven of "pharisees"
and beware of the leaven of "caesar".

these are things Jesus said.

and they are the same today, as yesterday.

bz, that picture is killing me! I can't see Him dressed any way other than the way I've always pictured Him for some reason. I think He looks LESS dignified in a suit. And the hair--it needs to stay long.

But I believe He would be in Israel, and He would be among the people, as He was when He was here before. I'm sure He would be in the news, but not because He sought it. He would have things to say about the leaders and their politics, but He would be about His father's business.

But when He returns, we know how it will be--King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Every knee will bow and every tongue will confess. That will be WONDERFUL!!!! And I can hardly wait!

He would be in Israel preventing the Bush adminstration from continuing to support a Palestinian state. I think Bush may be coming to his senses though by recent quotes about supporting Israel...so I say I hope he continues with that mindset and leave the Road Map behind.

*cough cough*

1 Corinthians 11

1 Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ. 2 I commend you because you remember me in everything and maintain the traditions even as I have delivered them to you. 3 But I want you to understand that the head of every man is Christ, the head of a woman is her husband, and the head of Christ is God. 4 Any man who prays or prophesies with his head covered dishonors his head, 5 but any woman who prays or prophesies with her head unveiled dishonors her head--it is the same as if her head were shaven. 6 For if a woman will not veil herself, then she should cut off her hair; but if it is disgraceful for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her wear a veil. 7 For a man ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God; but woman is the glory of man. 8 (For man was not made from woman, but woman from man. 9 Neither was man created for woman, but woman for man.) 10 That is why a woman ought to have a veil on her head, because of the angels. 11 (Nevertheless, in the Lord woman is not independent of man nor man of woman; 12 for as woman was made from man, so man is now born of woman. And all things are from God.) 13 Judge for yourselves; is it proper for a woman to pray to God with her head uncovered? 14 Does not nature itself teach you that for a man to wear long hair is degrading to him, 15 but if a woman has long hair, it is her pride? For her hair is given to her for a covering.

he's not talking about hats.
last bolded sentence hits it dead on.

but oh well....each his own. *sigh* sad.gif

sorry to go off topic.
please excuse meh
blindzebra
well ok then, back to topic.

When Jesus was a man here on this earth
(regardless of his appearance in the flesh...but, BTW...Isaiah 53:2 is of interest on that topic)

was he involved in the politics of his day?

did he seek office?

did he seek to be king?

if fact the crowds, seeing his feeding of the multitudes,
tried to sieze him to make him king....but he ran away from them.

Jesus warned, REPEATEDLY, however, to BEWARE of the LEAVEN
of BOTH
CAESAR, and of the PHARISEES.

(for that is what is written.)

so then, the question becomes, for us, living in this time,
what are we indeed to beware of?

who is "Caesar"? or who or what does 'caesar' represent, today?

and who are the "Pharisees"? who represents the 'pharisees', today?

i see it as "leaders of government"
and "leaders of religions".

and i want no part of either.

Jesus said: "You are no part of this world. if you were part of this world, the world would love what is its own. But because you are no part of this world, but i have chosen you out of this world, the world will hate you.
But it has HATED ME, BEFORE IT HAS HATED YOU."

"no student is greater than is teacher.
if has hated me, they will hate you also."

they do not love Jesus, for the love of God is not in them.
therefore they do not obey Jesus.
they do not have the Son, and therefore do not have the Father.

blessed are the peacemakers.
and Jesus preached, THE KINGDOM OF GOD.

Just as John the Baptist spoke, saying, the Kingdom of God has drawn near.

but neither were speaking of a politcal kingdom,
although, that is what the jews were seeking.

Jesus was a disappointment to many. he did not "change" the oppresive rule of the Romans....in fact, it brought greater persecution, and death to those who did follow the Christ.

But the Kingdom of God is REAL.
and the KING of that Kingdom is JESUS.

so, where is our allegiance?

no man can swear allegience to two kingdoms.

That is correct. He is everywhere, all around, unchanging. He is I AM. Men think they have power here, but they are as dust and will be blown away like dust. God is not interested in the "plans" of men per se. What is will be, what is meant to be will be.

Man, I just realized that post was almost as cryptic (in a good and interesting way, of course) than some of yours, blindzebra. wink.gif

He would come as a thief in fury of a world that forsook The Lord and The Lords Grace & sacrifice. And there will be no name. It is anonymous.
