Full Version: Why God Created Pets.

Someone emailed this joke to my cat, who then passed it along to moi...

A newly discovered chapter in the Book of Genesis has provided the answer to "Where do pets come from?" Adam said, "Lord, when I was in the garden, you walked with me everyday. Now I do not see you anymore. I am lonesome here and it is difficult for me to remember how much you love me."

And God said, "No problem! I will create a companion for you that will be with you forever and who will be a reflection of my love for you, so that you will love me even when you cannot see me. Regardless of how selfish or childish or unlovable you may be, this new companion will accept you as you are and will love you as I do, in spite of yourself."

And God created a new animal to be a companion for Adam. And it was a good animal. And God was pleased. And the new animal was pleased to be with Adam and he wagged his tail. And Adam said, "Lord, I have already named all the animals in the Kingdom and I cannot think of a name for this new animal."

And God said, "No problem! Because I have created this new animal to be a reflection of my love for you, his name will be a reflection of my own name, and you will call him DOG."

And Dog lived with Adam and was a companion to him and loved him. And Adam was comforted. And God was pleased. And Dog was content and wagged his tail.

After a while, it came to pass that Adam's guardian angel came to the Lord and said, "Lord, Adam has become filled with pride. He struts and preens like a peacock and he believes he is worthy of adoration. Dog has indeed taught him that he is loved, but perhaps too well."

And the Lord said, "No problem! I will create for him a companion who will be with him forever and who will see him as he is. The companion will remind him of his limitations, so he will know that he is not always worthy of adoration."

And God created CAT to be a companion to Adam. And Cat would not obey Adam. And when Adam gazed into Cat's eyes, he was reminded that he was not the supreme being. And Adam learned humility.

And God was pleased.
And Adam was greatly improved.
And Dog was happy.
And the Cat didn't give a hoot one way or the other.

Some people say cats are dumb. I believe otherwise. I think they're smart enough to know that if they act dumb nothing is expected of them.

Cute, and true about cat and dog behavior!

Here is a thought, about why GOD created fish and fishing.

We have a fish tank in our home and our cat gets hours and hours of pleasure watching"CAT TV".

Men spend hours and hours trying to catch Fish!

SO, why did GOD call us to be catcher's of "Men"?

Very good point Tig! I have really never thought about it that way. It does take hours and lots of patience. Sometimes you enjoy a great day of reeling them in and others well nothing on the end of that pole. You also get a little messy, smelly and a whole lot of grime under those nails. I've had a few battle wounds from the hooks, lures and being finned by those catfish. But oh the reward to reel one in, and then to enjoy the taste of the catch with family and friends. That is so extremely cool to get that visual. Thanks Tig! That really brings the Phrase Fisher of Men to life.

He wants us to take PLEASURE in the tasks HE gives to us! Just think if we become faithful in the little things, how much more GOD does for us! I think GOD takes Pleasure in watching HIS creation do the things that we are created to do. He takes care of us and we are called to be like HIM. The example' of us, taking pleasure in watching our pets and the exhange of unconditional love; speak to the heart of what GOD does for us, too.

Just one of those "WOW" moments, indeed!

I bet they are full of personality! Each different and unique too! biggrin.gif

Yea, its hard to say who the owner is....... laugh.gif blush.gif

I got two doggies, and one Katrina Kitten (she is my daughter's cat) and we have a host of strays that have adopted us, and a new litter of kittens by one stray. We are going to get momma fixed as soon as she is through nursing them!

now everybody say awe.....two yellow striped kittens, two black striped kittens and on black and white kitten.

The best news is my daughter is going back to work for a Vet's office, so the spay will not cost us so much and the kittens can be placed through her job.

GOD provides! blush.gif

We keep getting new strays? Well, I guess the LORD provides us with enough food for 'em all. biggrin.gif Eventually, they get placed in good homes too! rolleyes.gif

Have you ever heard that saying:
Dogs have owners,
Cats have staff.

A very large (25lb ) cat lives here and lets us live with him. He likes to sit for hours and watch kitty TV (birds eating on the deck). He is very smart however, he will bring his toys to me and drop them in my hand to play with him. and he understands a few comands (really hard ones). Its time to take a nap with mommy and its nighty-night time. Love that cat!!!
