I have a few medical problems. None of them life threatening but quite annoying. I have a bad back, bad shoulders, bad ankle and now something new. My sweat glands under my arm are blocked up. I've been taking antibiotics for them for a while but as soon as I get off of them they swell up again. And they hurt like heck. wacko.gif

I went to the doctor yesterday and found out I'm gonna need surgery to take care of it. He said that if they can't cut them out they may need to cut the whole area out and replace it with a skin graft.

I'm not looking forward to this, Since meeting my wife 5 years ago I've had 2 shoulder surgeries, dental sugery, a hernia operation and acid reflux surgery. The acid reflux surgery had complications and instead of being able to do it thru a laproscope(sp) they had to cut my side open, take out a rib and basically wrap my stomach around my esophagus.

Now I have this to look forward too. I shouldn't complain because my problems aren't life threatening and there are people much worse than me but I'm just tired of the pain. And from what I hear skin grafts are VERY painful.

I'm sorry for complaining but I just needed to vent. My faith isn't shaken and I'm not scared, just frustrated. Not just for me but everytime I have surgery my wife's life becomes twice as hard. We work from home and have a 1 year old child who, like all 1 year olds, is high maintenance. She already works from 8 in the morning to midnight(as do I). Between watching the boy and working we're busy. When I'm recovering from surgery she has to take on even more.

Like I said, I shouldn't complain, we get to spend a lot of time with our child, and although we work a lot we don't have to leave home to do it. It's just frustrating to be only 34 and feel like an old man. Sorry for wasting your time, I just needed to complain a bit. tongue.gif

Ducktapehero,

You are NOT wasting our time at all!!! You deserve prayer and comfort as this is not your fault, these are problems that you have regarding your health that you did not cause. I am praying for you that the surgery isn't as bad as you think it will be and that the pain is minimal. I know how hard it is on a mom with a 1 year old, to work and have the additional responsibilities, but this is what we vow to do when we get married, to be there for our spouses, through good times and bad. This too shall pass and you will feel better in due time. You don't know what could happen to your wife or your child in later years, hopefully nothing, but we all go through times where we need to be supported and helped through a crisis. This just happens to be your time and hopefully your wife will be understanding and love you through the hard time ahead.

She needs to know that no matter what, you'd be there for her if she was needing the surgery. Maybe you can get a babysitter to help out in the interim and take over for a few hours every day to give your wife a break.

I'm praying for you... that's a lot of surgery in a short time for you. I pray this is the last of them for you.

God bless you, Ducktape! The Lord will give you peace. Look to Him for comfort and joy in the midst of the storm.

Oh my goodness, yes we will all pray.

My prayers are for you.

DTH it's okay to vent, Lord knows I am probably the queen of venting...

I can relate to the back issue, I had a major back surgery 2 years 3months ago. I blew out my S1 L4-5 disc. Talk about pain, I would have rather had both kids at once, no pain meds, someone stepping on my foot, and pulling my hair at the same time, then have to feel that kind of pain again...

Even though the surgery fixed the disc I have nerve damage that only the Lord can heal at this point. He has already done some miracle healing on me concerning this issue. They told me I would never recovery my reflex back in my left leg and the nerve damage would not get any better. I told the doctor, NOPE, watch God work....

I went in for a 6 week check up after the surgery and the doctor tried my reflex and just sat there for a second. He then said, "that's not suppose to happen." I had my reflex back. We were checking it out and laughing because it was backwards. I had it back but it was backwards. God does have a sense of humor. But now the reflex is just fine. Just up until a few months ago it was sideways, but now when you hit the reflex spot it is straight. My nerve damage still has issue and I feel even the Lord is healing those one stage at a time.

Be of good cheer DTH, it is through these storms that the Lord removes Egypt out of us and prepares us for the promised land. Even though you may have pain, give thanks to Lord, praise Him everyday all day. The more you give thanks, the faster you move through this wilderness....

Also, before you do any sugery consult with a chriopractor and consider doing a detox. It may be your limpnodes are blocked and you need to do a cleanse....
Roxygal
Oh yes, Pamela.... I definately agree... DucktapeHERO... you should check out the natural way first. It's worth a shot at least!!!

Of course I will be praying for my favorite super hero!!! Don't worry about venting your stuff. I've been there many many times where I get so frustrated that I want to run down the street screaming my head off! It's safer here on the internet! biggrin.gif

You could always try duct tape wink.gif My granddaddy says it fixes everything! smile.gif

May the Lord Heal you right here on the spot!!
Many Blessings!!

Ducktapehero, You are not wasting my time. My husband's dad had that surgery, and it made all the diference. Your wife can handle whatever comes her way. Trust in the LORD, He will get you through all of this. Hey you know what, I have been married 5 years next Friday....and my husband has had 2 surgeries in those five years; not including the dental things. We made it through, and you can too! I will be praying for you a easy surgery, a good and godly surgeon, a speedy recovery, and an end to all these things that cause the need for surgery. I will also add that they pain be minimalized in your body. GOD can and does our prayers and HE will answer them too. He can heal you of everything wrong with your body. He is the Great Physcian. rolleyes.gif

Roxygal,

Biker's old saying: duct tape and bungee straps....

DTH, in five years your wife has learned that a young man can go through back surgery adn all the rest of the trouble, still pull off work at home, love her and take time for the baby.

What are you frustrated about. Trust her. You'd do it for her and she knows that, eh? Men are so macho....a team means a team. Trust her. She isn't feeling about herself all that you might be making it out to be....life is too much already to just ask her, hear her say "no honey" and then TRUST HER.

My prayers are with you.

leia
ducktapehero
Thanks everyone for your words. I know my wife will stand by me through it all but I feel bad for her. She deserves better than this. I know it's beyond my control but it still is frustrating. I just hate to see her work this hard because I am broken.
RosielovesJesus
Okay everyone our dear brother needs prayer.
Oh Ducktapehero, don't ever think you are wasting our time.
You are a precious child of God.

I am sorry that you are going through this.
I will be praying.

I must have God!
I couldn't share the grief of those
Who need my help along life's way,
Or comfort one in need of peace
Unless I pray.

No matter how the storms may rage
Upon the sea of life,
No matter how the waves may beat,
No matter what the strife;
The Lord is just the same today
As when He walked the Sea,
And He can conquer every storm
That life may send to thee.

Pamela
DTH I can relate to how your feeling, I went from being totally capable to not even being able to mow my own yard..

It is very important that you break the inflammation going on in your body or the pain cycle won't stop.

Find a holistic chriopractor and let him help you. Consider doing a detox.
leia
Pamela,

What is a detox? I mean, what do you go through? Is it a whole cleansing? With so many things coming up in my life, including the threads we are starting here on forum, I *think* it is time to consider cleansing and stay tht way.

I guess to explain this the best way is to have you google or yahoo search "Parasites." If your weak in the tummy don't do the search....

Hi Ducktapehero....

Sorry to hear about your situation and health problems. It's a bummer being sick...I've had SLE lupus since I was seventeen......can't remember a day when I haven't been in pain....Oh, Yeah by golly I can......I had a few days free from pain....and almost cried...and said, "This is what it feels like NOT to have pain twenty-four seven." Should have kept my big mouth shut! laugh.gif The pain returned and has not stopped since.

It's okay to vent.....we all vent.....some more than others....I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired! laugh.gif When I get really down and bummed out....I remember the movie...The Elephant Man....and then I start to Praise the Lord. But, sometimes pain can overtake you....and venting seems to be the only release at times. So you go ahead and vent here with us.....cuz we love ya....and we all know about pain...for it comes in many forms.

Your wife loves you....she wants YOU....for to be without you is to overwhelming to consider....we women and spew and spout....and our mood swings drives you guys insane....but bottom line....you are to "priceless" to let go....and these minor set backs are nothing conisdering if we were to have a life without you. You are one in the Lord...you are a team....there are three in a marriage (not counting children)...you, your wife and God. biggrin.gif

"Father God I lift up "ducktapehero".....give the doctors discernment and guide thier hands. Heal his body before he goes to the hospital....so there will be minium surgery. Heal him from the top of his head to the tip of his toes. Keep him from any complications. Wrap him up in your love and peace Father. Put angels all around him and his family watching over them and protecting them. As his wife takes on more while he re-coups....help her carry the load....and let her feel and see how light her load has become...as you carry it for her Lord. Be glorifed Father as you care for ducktapehero. I ask this in Jesus name. Amen and Amen."

God Bless you. wub.gif marie<><

Find a Chinese doctor - now! Accupuncture might help with this condition. No western doctors know why accupuncture works - but they all admit that it does. And it's become so popular (because it's so effective) that many insurance companies honor accupuncture claims. It certainly helped me. It even saved my dog's life. She had arthritis so bad she couldn't walk anymore. Now, she jumps up on all the furniture like a puppy. I hope that it helps you!

Well I went to the Dr today. My surgery is the 18th. Basically they're going to go in there and try to cut all of the bad stuff out. The Dr said chances are that it will take more than once to get it all out of there. Sounds like fun. smile.gif

1dsz5e4.gif Take comfort in the LORD. I can relate, went through much pain but Jesus cured my back.
And please try every natural way before getting operated on OK?
I had two steriods shots in my spine. It was horrible the first time, cause I was still inflamed. MAKE sure you get some medicine for inflamation...use ice on 15 off 15.
And I had one of the eletroid things you put on your back to calm the nerve endings and stimulate the others...as I had no use of my left leg...due to ruptured disc...but this helped so much!
After suffering for months and after haveing 2 shots.....a month later the LORD healed me right in my house. Beleive PRAY, God is Amazing and he will provide all your comfort in whatever means you need and direct you to the right doctors. We ask God to guide you to the cure that suits your problem. GOD'S Blessings to you and your wife and family.

Well I had the surgery this morning. The Dr said from what he could tell the different infections weren't interconnected all that much so he's optimistic. I'm not in too much pain right now but I'm sure tomorrow will be a different story but that's OK. Hopefully this will turn out good without too much trouble. Thanks for all the well wishes and prayers, I'll keep y'all updated.

May God send you His healing spirit, and may He get you and your wife a much better job, closest to home and with better pay, so you won't have to work so long and so hard. I suspect stress as one of the culprits.

We do work a lot of hours for low pay but we do it from home so it's worth it. No boss and we get to be with our son all day. Although when he's grumpy that can be stressful.

Looking back, I may have figured out what might have caused it. I've used the same soap and deoderant for decades. Speed stick and Ivory soap, a few months ago I tried some different soap for a month or so and it started. I can't prove thats what did it but I'll definitely stick with the Ivory from now on. It floats!!! LOL

I still don't hurt too bad so I'm hanging in there. You guys are the greatest.

Well, just as my luck is, I am getting new ones under my other arm. I go to the Dr on Wednesday so it looks like I'm, at best, only half way through this. Maybe he can precribe some antibiotics to take care of these new ones long enough fo my other side to heal.

Roxygal
I'll keep you in my prayers Ducktapehero!!!

The Lord will see you through honey!!!
