Full Version: Differences In Bible Numbers?

I got this off of a web site.

"Thus, in 1Kings 10:14 and 2Chronicles 9:13 we read of the annual tribute of gold received by King Solomon; the specific figure, 666 talents, is quoted - yet we are also given to understand that this was just part of the total amount. Why this sum should be singled out for special mention is not made clear. However, it is undoubtedly interesting that Solomon - the personification of wordly wisdom and expert at solving riddles - should be so linked with Revelation 13:18. Again, in Ezra 2:13 we learn that following the Babylonian exile 666 males of the sub-clan of Adonikam returned safely to Israel. But in a parallel passage (Nehemiah 7:18) the figure is given as 667" And it says at the end that Adonikam means "my Lord has risen"

what so much enfasice on this strange number?

Hello Jason.

I'm not understanding why you are comparing the number of the tribe of Adonicam that returned to Israel from the Babylonian exile (which was 667), as accounted for along with the other tribes in Nehemia, to the number of the beast - 666.

Is there something that you don't understand about the number of the beast? I do know this, and that is that the number won't mean much to us until the abomination takes place. Until he seats himself in the temple we will all be guessing. Which will be a time for action, as Jesus warns in Mat. 24: 15.

Thoughts on Numbers 111 to 999

(111,222,333,444,555,666,777,888,999)

From a biblical perspective, the number 111 is a multiple of 666, 777, 888. These triple figures (a triad with three of the same numbers) is simply a way of emphasizing their root meanings. Thus, 111 emphasizes the number one, and so forth.

We begin with the three numbers that are definitely used in the Bible.

666 is the number of man because man was created on the 6th day of creation, and it signifies "fallen man" since man comes short of God's perfection, which number is 777. (See "the mark of the beast", Rev. 13:18.) (For more see www.bible-codes.org/letters-666-beast.htm. And "666".)
Six times 111 = 666.

777 signifies perfection since seven is the number of perfection. (Note the age of Lamech in the Bible when he died; also, he died 777 years before Israel entered Egypt in 1876 BC.) (Click here for lengthy discussion on 777 and Lamech.)
Seven times 111 = 777.

888 is the number of new creation (i.e., 'a new man'). It is Jesus' number since the name Jesus adds up to 888 in Gematria in contrast to fallen man's number of 666 (Rev. 13). Moreover, Jesus received His name when He was eight days old when He was circumcised! (Luke 2:21.) (Note, the 'names on foreheads' in Rev. 13:18 in contrast with the next verse, 14:1.)
Eight times 111 = 888.

Numbers of less certainty are the following:

111 by itself perhaps refers to the oneness of the Triune God. But that is only a guess.

222 Only a guess: "In the mouth of two or three witnesses." ?

333 may be connected to the Trinity and resurrection.

444 is a period of trial. four times 111 = 444. (Interestingly, the last event mentioned in the bible occurred in 444 BC with the decree of Nehemiah to rebuild the walls.)
555 --- I know that people tend to connect the number 5 with grace but the evidence for that it very sketchy at best. Perhaps it is best to see the numeral 5 (and thus 555) as simply a transitional number. Thus, it is simply half-ten as in the two tablets of the ten commandments of Moses, or like your two hands or your two feet. (See 10 toes of Daniel's statue.)

666 (See above)

777 (See above)

888 (See above)

999 would be one short of 1000, and thus it implies imperfection or incompletion.

Also, 1335 (Dan. 12:12-13) less 3 days = 111 x 12 (1332), and refers to the 12 tribes of Israel moving toward the completion of their trial unto the great day of blessing and (3) resurrection arrives.

See below chart for the 1335 along with time frames related to that number.

The number 666 was also used in 2 Chronicles 9:13 as the annual number of sickels of gold that was the income of Solomon's empire. The mention of the number 666 in the book of Revelation may be a hint to see where to search for the answer. I think it stands for great government power, perhaps of an undesired or too human-only and less religious type which is drawing attention away from obedience to God (and his LAWS which are clear and simple enough!).

In the bible, Monarchy is such a type of government not of God's desire.
Remember that it was the people of Israel who insisted on having a king and not God.
OK then, if you reeeeeallly want a king, he will take YOUR best horses, YOUR best workers, etc. for himself.
And still they chose one.

Solomon is the most powerful king in the bible. A steep rise of Israeli power or ability to keep armies together and lay the basis for a strong government even dominating all or most of the surrounding lands. A steady basis for Israeli income under David and Solomon (in goods and forced labor). Amidst boosting about Solomon's income, Solomon's government power, and Solomon's court and splendour, the number 666 is mentioned as the annual income in gold.

Even if "by the grace of God" (as self-proclaimed by kings instead of prophets anointing them), monarchy is and stays a human type of government form, and at its best something delegated to humans by the gods and subject to the ability to sin.

Godsword
My opinion is that the 667 mentioned in Nehemiah included Adonikam amongst those of "his" clan which returned, while the 666 mentioned in Ezra did not include Adonikam. It might be like saying, "And John's family, all 10 of them, returned from overseas" versus "And John's family, all 11 of them (John included), returned from overseas".

what so much enfasice on this strange number?

I believe the emphasis is on the number of the planet. What is the number 666 but the number of man. Man is on this planet, so this planet is #666. Or is man the 666th species? No other species is involved in this war of thoughts.

666 and 667 ARE A SEQUENCE, a following, they announce what IS TO COME... Just as 666 comes after 665, 667 comes after 666... a sequence, a series of events planned by God from the beginning. I think of the biblical prophecies... They have to come to pass.

They are coded as well, in relationship to the 9/11 events, which I show in my book bear all the codes of the Rapture. 9/11 in its uniqueness calls for another unique date: the date of the Rapture.
