Colossians 1;15 Amplified Bible
the unseen god
the invisible

verse 16
things seen and things unseen

1 timothy 1;17
the King of eternity, invisible

hebrews 11;27
Moses ........endured steadfastly as one who gazed on Him Who is Invisible.

**************

Jesus told (doubting) Thomas : You have believed because you have seen Me. Blessed are those who have not seen Me, yet they believed.

Why doesn't God reveal Himself?
He could do Miracle after Miracle, if He wanted to.
He could heal all the sick children in the world, if he wanted to.
He could have Rescued ALL of Hitler's victim's, if He had wanted to. But, He didn't Rescue them. Some of the victims were Christians and Jews.

God could show His wounds in His Hands, but I've never seen them.

God could answer every prayer, in the affirmative, if He wanted to.
God could heal my eyes, if He wanted to.
I've got half the County praying for my eyes, and I'm still going to the doctor for my eyes.
I've prayed that God would save and bless ALL people in the world. And feed ALL the hungry, heal ALL the sick. Why hasn't God done all that I've asked for?

**************

My point is:
God is waiting to see what we will do with our lives, when we think "He's not looking", or "He doesn't exist", or "He doesn't Judge the wicked".

If I don't want to live in Righteousness and Love, then , I can simply dis-believe the Bible. It's my choice, as long as God is Invisible.

When God becomes Visible, then I have no choice..........I MUST obey the Scripture. The choice between Heaven and Hell is no choice at all.

The bank-robber THOUGHT that he could get away with the crime......the robber THOUGHT that God doesn't Judge the wicked.

The Saint (NT believer) THOUGHT that God is True, and that He has Wonderful things for the repentant believer, and that God has Horrific judgement for the un-repentant.................So, the Saint chose to believe God, and repent of his sins.

Joh 14:9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?

Joh 12:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.

Joh 6:5 When Jesus then lifted up his eyes, and saw a great company come unto him, he saith unto Philip, Whence shall we buy bread, that these may eat?
Joh 6:6 And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do.
Joh 6:7 Philip answered him, Two hundred pennyworth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may take a little.

Joh 14:7 If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.

It is interesting that the bible clearly says that God is invisible and yet that those who have a pure heart will see Him. I’ve gave this some thought and I think that it’s God’s spirit that is invisible. I also figure that our spirit is invisible.

In any case, it’s been some 2000 yrs since Christ said that He would return so were that much closer…

Praise God… These are awesome days to be alive.

Job said: Even though the skin-worms destroy my flesh, I will stand on the earth, on the last day, and IN MY FLESH, I will see my Redeemer.

Job knew that we will be blessed with a BODILY resurrection.
God is able to raise our bodies, EVEN AFTER THE BODY IS DESTROYED!

Wow!

Jesus has a Physical body NOW, but He's in Heaven, and we're here. We can't see Him.
Same thing for the Heavenly Father.

The Holy Spirit is here, there, and everywhere. But, alas, we can't see Him. He is Spirit.
We can't see spirits. (Without a Miracle.)

That doesn't sound like good news to me... Are you having a bad?
If God hadn't given us eyes to see and ears to hear then what the heck are we doing here?

The problem with forums is that you always run into people who think they know it all. Only they know God or only they know the way to God - all others are fools groping in the dark.

Endeed I may be in darkness but my hope is sure - God has seen to that.
He is faithful and He alone is all wise and all loving.

Man you can't ask a simple question without someone telling you that you're blind. What's up with that?

If having all knowledge means to walk around with a chip on your shoulders I'd rather be a blind fool.

Knowledge puffs up but love builds up. Your choice - you can be puffed up or you can build others up.

1 Corinthians 13:2
If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.

1 Corinthians 13:8
Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.

Everytime I visit this forum I get an upset stomach - wondering what awaits me.
It shouldn't be like this.

Jack this wasn't a negative response...here is Dueteronomy 29:4 in some different translations.....

but Yahweh has not given you a heart to know, and eyes to see, and ears to hear, to this day. (WEB)

but Jehovah hath not given you a heart to know, and eyes to see, and ears to hear, unto this day. (ASV)

But even to this day the Lord has not given you a mind open to knowledge, or seeing eyes or hearing ears. (BBE)

But Jehovah hath not given you a heart to perceive, and eyes to see, and ears to hear, to this day. (DBY)

Yet the LORD hath not given you an heart to perceive, and eyes to see, and ears to hear, unto this day. (KJV)

Yet the LORD hath not given you a heart to perceive, and eyes to see, and ears to hear, to this day. (WBS)

but the LORD hath not given you a heart to know, and eyes to see, and ears to hear, unto this day. (JPS)

and Jehovah hath not given to you a heart to know, and eyes to see, and ears to hear, till this day, (YLT)

Let me paraphrase [] it here....Not until today, has God given us a heart to know [His Will in truth], Eyes to see [the truth of God's Word] and ears to hear [the truth of God's Word].

No one is telling you that you are blind....they are sharing their belief with you in love....somtimes we hear it wrong or see it wrong, and others will help us see things in the truth of God's Word.....

You are welcome, it was a confusing verse.....sometimes, I like to look at other bible translations to get a better understanding, but I like the KJV best. I guess I am old school on that. Anyway, God has broken furtile ground today, yes! Keep your eyes wide open and your ears listening for the WORD of God. God's Word does not come back void. Jack, you are loved here, even though you may not feel it. The devil is good at tricking us, sometimes, into believing we are being attacked, when we actually are being taught....that's when I rebuke him in Jesus Name, and go on. If I offended you ever, please know that I never intended offense, just teaching. I used to be a Ladies Ministry Chaplian, and did teach Sunday School...and a few other meanial jobs around our little church, such as KP and bathroom duties....so I am humbled.

God has spoken in places about why He hides His face. You also would not have to seek the face of the Lord if He was in plain sight.

Heb 11
6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Deut 31
17 Then My anger shall be aroused against them in that day, and I will forsake them, and I will hide My face from them, and they shall be devoured. And many evils and troubles shall befall them, so that they will say in that day, 'Have not these evils come upon us because our God is not among us?'

Deut 32
20 And He said: 'I will hide My face from them, I will see what their end will be, For they are a perverse generation, Children in whom is no faith.

Ezekiel 39
26 after they have borne their shame, and all their unfaithfulness in which they were unfaithful to Me, when they dwelt safely in their own land and no one made them afraid.
27 When I have brought them back from the peoples and gathered them out of their enemies' lands, and I am hallowed in them in the sight of many nations,
28 then they shall know that I am the Lord their God, who sent them into captivity among the nations, but also brought them back to their land, and left none of them captive any longer.
29 And I will not hide My face from them anymore; for I shall have poured out My Spirit on the house of Israel,' says the Lord God."

interesting huh?
although scripture says:
John 1:18 No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the father, he hath declared him.

some believe he has hands and human physical features.

no wonder He hates idolatry such as in:
Lev 26:1 Ye shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up any image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am the LORD your God.

not only is idolatry bad in the sense that one can act out a "behavior" to an object but also limits the comprehension of God. There are people here with good knowledge but somehow still feel that God has human characterisitics.
But i'm not perfect because i was there once. sad.gif
