When i came across this at first, i thought "It has to be fake!" but it's very much real! Just imagine several thousand of them scratching at your door or gnawing at your feet?
It's the sort of thing you would picture being in hell or in a horror movie.. The dog was 15 and was called Sam, it is in the world record book as being the ugliest dog.
What sort of person could allow a dog to get to that?

It must have some form of deformity. Who knows it could be a very placid and playful pup.

Not only was he a sweet dog...but God intervened to save his life. The pound where he was kept considered him unadoptable so he was going to be killed but then this woman 'happened' to come looking for a dog, and not just any dog, a dog without fur, because she loved dogs but was severely allegric to them. Sam, was the perfect chioce. He had no fur but lots of love for his new owner....Sam has a few web sites in memory of him.

Also this fur-less feature is not a deformity. It was deliberately bred. The name of Sam's bred is called Chinese crested. The reason why the Chinese bred them to be furless is because it made it easier for Chinese people to eat them, and that is a true story. The Chinese also bred the chow, making it as large a bred as possible for good eating, (and thus we get word 'chow' meaning food) like breeding dosmetic turkeys larger to provide more meat. There is a movement in China now to try to convince people not to eat dogs but use them to be companions for the elderly and the ill. The chinese gov't saw they save money on healthcare when they introduced therapy dogs to keep people company in the nursing homes.
You know I just had to laugh at this post again. That poor dog, it really can't be real but apparantly is so. 'WOW'. Can you imagine that thing waking you up in the morning and licking your face?
