Russian squirrel pack 'kills dog'

Local people suggest hunger is driving squirrels to extremes
Squirrels have bitten to death a stray dog which was barking at them in a Russian park, local media report.
Passers-by were too late to stop the attack by the black squirrels in a village in the far east, which reportedly lasted about a minute.

They are said to have scampered off at the sight of humans, some carrying pieces of flesh.

A pine cone shortage may have led the squirrels to seek other food sources, although scientists are sceptical.

The attack was reported in parkland in the centre of Lazo, a village in the Maritime Territory, and was witnessed by three local people.

A "big" stray dog was nosing about the trees and barking at squirrels hiding in branches overhead when a number of them suddenly descended and attacked, reports say.

"They literally gutted the dog," local journalist Anastasia Trubitsina told Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper.

"When they saw the men, they scattered in different directions, taking pieces of their kill away with them."

Mikhail Tiyunov, a scientist in the region, said it was the first he had ever heard of such an attack.

While squirrels without sources of protein might attack birds' nests, he said, the idea of them chewing a dog to death was "absurd".

"If it really happened, things must be pretty bad in our forests," he added.

Komosmolskaya Pravda notes that in a previous incident this autumn chipmunks terrorised cats in a part of the territory.

A Lazo man who called himself only Mikhalich said there had been "no pine cones at all" in the local forests this year.

"The little beasts are agitated because they have nothing to eat," he added.

Pack of killer dogs euthanized; charges may be filed

THORNDALE - Five dogs that mauled a 76-year-old woman to death in her front yard were euthanized Monday, authorities said.

A sixth dog in the pack had been shot and killed by the woman's husband.

Lillian Loraine Stiles was riding on a lawn mower in her front yard Saturday when she was confronted by the dogs, described as pit bull-Rottweiler mixes, Milam County Sheriff Charlie West said.

Investigators think Stiles was heading back into her house after getting off the lawn mower when she was attacked. She was severely bitten all over and was pronounced dead at her home, authorities said. Authorities were waiting for autopsy results.

Weldon Smith of Rockdale tried to help Stiles and was bitten on the leg. He ran to alert the woman's husband, Jack Stiles, who was inside the couple's home.

The animals belonged to Stiles' neighbor, Jose Hernandez. West said he was unaware of previous complaints or reports regarding the dogs. The dogs will be checked for rabies, said Nell Dohnalik, a spokeswoman for the sheriff's department.

The sheriff's department will send the findings of its investigation to the Milam County district attorney's office, which will decide whether to file criminal charges against Hernandez.

Lillian Loraine Stiles is survived by her husband, three children, seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Thorndale is about 70 miles west of College Station.

Scot tells of fatal attack by killer bees

A SCOT whose wife was killed when they were attacked by killer African bees near their home in South Africa has spoken of his ordeal.

Mariana Carmichael, 60, died last month after her vehicle crashed and hit an electricity sub-station which housed a hive.

She suffered thousands of bee stings to her face, neck and arms. Her husband James, 67, whose leg was broken in the accident near Johannesburg, was stung around 400 times by the bees.

He has suffered kidney failure as a result of the high level of toxins in his body.

Mr Carmichael, who is originally from Whiteinch in Glasgow, said: "My poor, poor wife. The worst thing is that I felt so powerless. I couldn't get to her.

"Then the swarm came. I felt them stinging me. They were even right down my throat. In my ears and right down my throat.

"The doctors say the toxins from the stings are still coming out of my body. There were so many it took three nurses three days to remove them all."

Mr Carmichael, who now receives daily dialysis after the attack, could be out of hospital in time to spend Christmas with his son and daughter.

Neighbors fear killer deer that remains loose

WBBH-TV
LEE COUNTY — A deer thought to be dead after it attacked and killed a miniature stallion, is actually alive. The animal was reportedly being kept as a pet on a ranch in North Fort Myers. After the attack, Florida Fish and Wildlife ordered the deer's owners to put it down, but that apparently didn't happen.

FWC officials say neighbors have no reason to be afraid because they do not consider the animal a threat to people.

FWC says the deer will not attack a person and that's why it's not a priority to them. They say if something happens, the deer's owners will be responsible.

Officials gun down killer bear
Ontario officials believe they have killed the black bear that fatally attacked one woman and injured her husband.

The Ministry of Natural Resources says it has killed a black bear matching the description of the one that killed Dr. Jacqueline Perry and wounded her husband Marc Jordan.

The 30-year-old couple was attacked at Missinaibi Provincial Park, north of Chapleau, Ont. earlier this week.

Ministry staff say they shot and killed the black bear near the area where the attack occurred, in a remote area of the park.

The bear had a wound to its neck like one that Jordan inflicted as he tried to fight the bear off with a Swiss Army knife.

The ministry has now called off the search but continues to gather evidence for its investigation.

The attack is the latest in what has been a busy season for bear attacks across Canada.

A Manitoba man fended off a black bear in early September, just one week after a black bear killed another man in the province.

There have also been four grizzly attacks in Alberta since June, including a fatal one on a female jogger near Canmore.

A woman in British Columbia was also mauled in May.

Remember, we're told the "beasts of the earth" will kill many in the Tribulation

Revelation 6:8: And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.

I think we are suddenly thrown into a science fiction movie that we just can't get out of until our Saviour comes. I believe the things that are happening and are
going to happen are going to make any sci-fi movie look pale in comparison.

Hold onto your faith we could be in for quite the supernatural ride.

Exekiel 39:17-20

39:17 And, thou son of man, thus saith the Lord GOD; Speak unto every feathered fowl, and to every beast of the field, Assemble yourselves, and come; gather yourselves on every side to my sacrifice that I do sacrifice for you, even a great sacrifice upon the mountains of Israel, that ye may eat flesh, and drink blood.

39:18 Ye shall eat the flesh of the mighty, and drink the blood of the princes of the earth, of rams, of lambs, and of goats, of bullocks, all of them fatlings of Bashan.

39:19 And ye shall eat fat till ye be full, and drink blood till ye be drunken, of my sacrifice which I have sacrificed for you.

39:20 Thus ye shall be filled at my table with horses and chariots, with mighty men, and with all men of war, saith the Lord GOD.
