The Lord has shared with me too about speaking to the storm. I have literally done this as well, and storms have either completely stopped, or turned away or lessened. I have spoken to the storm in the name of the Lord when Hurricane Ivan hit the home I was in, (Alabama). As the worst part of the storm hit, I was wakened from a dream about battling tornadoes. When the roof sounded like it was about to come off. I lifted my hands to the Lord and called out to the Lord, as I prayed, the sound instantly stopped. Another time I was in Costa Rica on a mission trip and it was our last night there at the orphange/boys ranch and it was pouring and storming very bad and we were going to have to walk a good distance to get to our bus, when no one was around, I stepped outside under the overhang and held out my hands and prayed and I specificly told the storm to stop and leave. Almost instantly it stopped. All I could do was thank the Lord, and I had a big ol smile on my face. I didn't tell anyone there. Another time a few years ago, it was when some tornadoes had touched down in southern Alabama, that night I was awakened by this loud banging sound coming from my roof. I also heard this weird wind sound. I have to admit I was alittle scared. Feeling that I didn't have very much time, no point in running, I held up my hand and prayed, instantly the sound stopped and I felt such peace, in fact I fell right back to sleep! When I got up the next day and took my dog outside I looked up at my roof and it looked like a banana that had been peeled back! So I guess you can say, that we are to trust in the Lord, and do what he has said we can do in his name. We can pray against the storm and the Lord will hear us. Greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world. The Lord's name is powerful and can come against any storm that comes our way, whether it is literal, spiritual, financial, or anything else. Trust in the Lords love and his protection. He can and at times does respond immediately when we have the faith to tell the storm to stop and be still in the name of Jesus!

Thank You for posting this a few weeks back I was going thru a storm in the natural in my life and the Lord spoke to me and said " You have power over this storm and just as I spoke to the storm and told it to calm the sea you can speak to the storm in your life to be calm" that very evening before I went to bed I got a phone call on this storm and yes it was overturned. Thank You Jesus.
