The Lord has had myself and another brother in a study about salvation, the church and who is part of the church. Where we have ended up is the tribulation and the great babylon. The more time we spend in study the more it looks the church is here for the tribulation and great babylon is Washington DC, not the USA but Washington DC. I want to put this out to get a dialog going to help discern this.

Babylon.....I don't know....I've brought this up on the forum a lot as well. Washington D.C.- yes I can see it as Babylon.......nah. I'm still thinking it is Rome. But I thought literal Babylon was Iraq, then I heard NYC.
I still think it is ROME!

Marta I see that two, city on seven hills...etc, but it just does not seem to fit. How active is Rome in worl trade? The city which is destroyed in a day is clearly in the center of the world economy. Unless something changes Rome is a long way from the center stage of the world economy.

Okay, Babylon befuddles me!!!!! I'm thinking the European Union is going to be the ultimate world domination and that the antichrist will come out of the EU. They seem so powerful even more so now that they have their own troops patrolling the Gaza border...the great so-called peacemakers. I don't trust them...I just get an eerie feeling. Same with the United Nations, that is just a really shady organization. What about the false prophet?? I'm getting the impression from the Bible that he is a spritual religious leader that will strengthen and empower the antichrist so more people will be awed by him.

Babylon has to be in the Mediterranean area, it has to sit on seven hills, and the world will lament when it falls. Most of the world would rejoice if D.C. fell. Washington D.C. is not Mystery Babylon the Great.

i must however comment on the horns of the beast.

The thoughts i have tell me that the ten horns (rulers) will all exist as leaders at the same time. Why? Reading revelation we come to this passage about the horns.

Revelation 17
12 “The ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority for one hour as kings with the beast. 13 These are of one mind, and they will give their power and authority to the beast.

Not kings before the beast but kings with the beast. Also The book of Daniel says says:

Daniel 7:8
I was considering the horns, and there was another horn, a little one, coming up among them, before whom three of the first horns were plucked out by the roots. And there, in this horn, were eyes like the eyes of a man, and a mouth speaking pompous words.


See how 3 horns end up giving their power (or have it taken away) over to the little horn. (anti-christ)


Also i believe the waters are not physical oceans or seas or lakes. Revelation reveals what the waters are.

I can understand your reference to Jerusalem. If you have seen a few of the threads that Marta has started about the new High court building of isreal and the masonic border monument then you will begin to see something that is hidden but revealed. Also Jerusalem is where the two prophets will be murdered. When we read revelation we see how it describes Jerusalem at the time of the killings.

Revelation 11
7 When they finish their testimony, the beast that ascends out of the bottomless pit will make war against them, overcome them, and kill them. 8 And their dead bodies will lie in the street of the great city which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.

Revelations reveal that the harlot will be destroyed before the anti-christ makes Jerusalem his seat of world governance. Jerusalem will exist at the time of the second coming of the Messiah Jesus. So while there is a link between Washington and Jerusalem I cannot see how Jerusalem can be the harlot. The beast far from wanting to destroy Jerusalem wants to sit in its temple and be worshiped as god on earth.

I believe this is an extended period of time, that started in the Kennedy administration with Johnson as his VP and ends in the Bush - Cheney administration because in Revelation 17:17 “God is putting in their hearts to fulfill his will UNTIL His words are fulfilled”. One hour in the Biblical “1000 years is as a day” is equivalent of 41 years 243 days or 15,217 days.

from what i have read and looked into myslef through scripture. i feel that the second Babylon is the United States and not just Washington DC.

no it is referred to as a city but i have to look up homework as to what "city" is referring to.
The heart of the U.S. is Washington DC but the things to come for this "city" is described as a country or nation. The disasters are too huge and the description is detailed that it can't be literally the size of a city. But i am sure that the things to come will cause chaos and disasters through the entire NorthEast cost. It will effect the U.S. as a whole. If it is Washington as you point out, the whole US will suffer not just that one city.

The greek is pol'-is meaning a town. Washington DC is a unique place, not part of the 50 states. Has its own government, police force more of a city/state. I can not go down the road of saying the USA is great babylon because this nation was founded on Christ. Read the mayflower compact sometime. As to the government the founding fathers, has free masons written all over them. 284 years passed from the time the mayflower compact had been written until the "birth" of our official government. I agree there will be much tribulation in this great country if Washington DC falls. Even so come Lord Jesus. If I agree with you or not, the Word is your ultimate authority.

Babylon "the city" in illistration, is the same as the Babylon of "many waters". It is not the US and it is not where God will build His new city, surely. Though there would be some who hate both who would like to believe that. Such a hate there is for God's people and those who would be a nation under God, don't you agree?

Babylon comes from many nations and is represented by the beat of three heads and 10 horns and that only makes sense to me in light of the economy, politics and religion worlwide. Not any one place, but a heart condition. Purely spiritual in nature.

Babylon started as a town then city. It conquered other cities and became an empire. The empire was stilled called Babylon but we refer it to a city still. As it shows, Babylon was conquered by Syrus (spelling?). He conquered the whole nations armies and conquered the city but it was all referred to Babylon.
The US started off as a town, which turn to cities, which is now an empire.

Babylon sits on many waters and that is the land of USA.

the entire US lives off trade to and from the world. Washington DC consumes but a tiny fraction of that. If you wiped out the US...merchants would weep because the US consumes many of the worlds products and it will affect the worlds business and economy.

Conclusive Proof

This verse alone identifies the USA as endtime Mystery Babylon:

1. This nation MUST have a Mother. What nation does that is the world's ONLY
SUPERPOWER? Only the USA, ENGLAND!

2. This nation is the HINDERMOST of the nations. This means that it is among the last to come into existance. The USA FITS! Iraq DOES NOT FIT! Neither does Rome.

Remember, hindermost means lastly. There are other nations that have come into existance after the USA BUT you must consider all the parameters of Jeremiah 50,51., Revelation 18, i.e. ......"the hammer of the whole earth",
etc. (Jeremiah 50:23). Nations coming into existance after the USA have mostly been in Africa and Eastern Europe. They could not begin to meet the overall description of Mystery Babylon.

But Washington DC on the other hand is a whole nother animal. colaterial damage to the east coast is possible but God is perfectly capable of a surgical strike.

I've thought about this a lot. I sometimes think the US is Babylon. I love my country but we are so far from what was intended in the beginning. I pray we are not Babylon. However, our country is full of sin. I keep looking for a middle east country to emerge as a true leader of evil. Maybe the leadership of Iran can fit that bill now. Anyway, its all about Israel just like the bible says..we're in the last days. The antichrist will come from the middle east..but he could be a member of the United Nations or another world organization. It's time for Christians to have lots of trouble around the world..and we are having it now. God bless us all.

i haven't heard anything like this around.

i really don't keep up with end of times stuff but my mind slipped on what they're going to be here to do and what will happen to them.

i guess what i'm saying is that i need to go back and read the sequemce of events.

I simply think that NYC is Babylon the City and that all the terrorist attacks that happen there are just symbolism for what will happen to Babylon the Empire, the USA. We are the superpower in the world in these end days, hence the name "Babylon the Great". There will be more attacks on NYC, and they'll only get worse. There is a KJV Bible code that speaks of another terrorist attack by an Arab group on Manhattan with a nuclear bomb on a boat, and after it happens all elections will be stopped and Bush will be installed as a "dictator", and we'll probably lose a lot of our rights after that attack in the name of "peace and security". That would also explain another Bible code that says President Bush will be assassinated in 2009 or 2010, because if that attack didn't happen, he wouldn't still be president (his term would've run out), but the codes say he will be. Then Cheney will be put in his place after he's killed, and he'll probably be the last president before the world ends.

This country already is creepy, what with the Satanic symbols in the layout of Washington D.C. and all. It's only gonna get creepier and more Satanic. Like the public education system-take a good look at it, it's a subtle conditioning for the NWO. They only teach falsehoods and negative things in the history and literature books when it comes to religion, and they have a coniption when you try to say something positive about it. I know, I used to be anti-Christ & corrupted by it's teachings before I converted (now I'm devout), and I knew other people who were the exact same way, some even worse. It's the reason why so many kids turn to New Age Satanic stuff, cause they're taught that the Bible causes wars, so they want the spirituality, but not the guidelines and laws (and truth). We're headed for a Luciferic One World Theocracy, it's guaranteed, so I just continue to do what God wants me to so that I can go up in the Rapture and watch the Harlot fall from a safe distance.
