I'm sorry....I was laughing at 4him's one liners....

10 white and 1 black but they are all twiners and all should be in lamb so upwards of 25 to 30 next spring.

What is a rick of wood? Where I grew up it was a cord...

Once my maternal grandfather cut several cords of wood for the winter, and like a typical unthinking man, he stacked them all under the outdoor clothes line (because it had two upright posts too support the pile I think) My grandmother found out later in the day what he had done, and she was so mad she kicked her washtub all over the yard...we called her the "washtub bomber" for the rest of her life! biggrin.gif

Hi, Just got back here and saw your question about a rick of wood. Thankyou Kim48 for answering that. Boanerges, where I came from it was called a cord too, but where I live now they call it a rick and I wish it was 30-35 dollars like it is where Kim48 lives. They are asking $65 for a rick of wood this year and they don't even stack it. But have to have wood. We tend to loose power pretty quick if we get snow where I live in these mountains. Gets cold real fast! Hubby always took care of the fire. I guess that will be my job now that he is gone home with Jesus. The only thing I have to remember is to open the flue (spelling?). I didn't open it once and yikes, what a mess. blink.gif That's why I didn't tend the fire. Lets see maybe some word association will help....right is right and left is wrong! biggrin.gif

Shy1, how about you have ice-cream for me and I will have a hot
chocolate for you. It is not as warm here, but much milder than
normal. What is normal anymore. The weather is different here this
year too.

Taking a break...

I have undertaken the task of writing a publication of a study that I understudied in... So, I am now reading his dissertation (126 pages double spaced) and condensing it to 20 pages (double spaced)....

Occasionally I am sipping on water... all the while I am listening to my Windows Media Player... In the last 20 minutes I have spanned:

Jerry Garcia and David Grisman.... God rest ye merry gentlemen
Third Day... Thief
Green Day.... Beverly Hills
Donovan... Wear your love like heaven

Cannot believe what I see
All I have wished for will be
All of our race proud and free

CHORUS

Lord kiss me once more
Fill me with song
Kiss me once more
So I may, so I may

Currently I am putting together information for my dad (who is in sales).. He needs a dumbed down version of scientific information (from literature) for sales purposes... note the irony, me... putting together information on "all natural" product for a cattle feed....

I can't stop listening to Grateful Dawg.... an acoustic group made up of the late Jerry Garcia of the Grateful Dead, Jerry Grisman, and others... Good stuff... everything from fiddle tunes, love ballads, mountain music, gospel, childrens, folk, and other forms of traditonal music...... not too twangy for my tastes....
