A "shake out" is a well designed process by the top market leaders in a certain branche, to swallow up their smaller competitors in the cheapest way possibe. This process has no regard for personal situations, and can be rightfully qualified as a "ruthless beast", much like a dinosaur trampling and destroying everything in its path.
The scenario always starts with reckless behavior of the top-X in the market, where the top-X is the smallest possible coalition of market leaders with enough power to manipulate the market with violent changes (price wars, credit crunch, stock manipulation etc.). They deliberately act reckless (the shaking), and start slurping up the remains of their former smaller competitors. As long as it id profitable for them to do, and as long as the coalition holds, this will continue. When the shake-out is completed, the stock markets relax and go up in value, leaving the top-X as enriched victors, and the market playing field further decimated.
On top of that, governments are funding this reckless behavior with their "bailout deals", which:
a. feed the top-X and not the people
b. create hyperinflation and currency devaluations
c. are financed in the end not by gov's but by the people (taxes)
It is justified to say, that the current events are steps on a way to a few oligarch companies with a financially enslaved population of workers.

Just like some control the energy supply of the world, that is nothing, some corporations are working on non reproductive seeds that only yield one harvest. Kinda like seedless oranges.
The seeds that produce food and feed cattle to feed us as well. This is dangerous as private corporations or nations could litterally starve an entire nation.
Pray God raises righteous land owners to store up seeds that can reproduce, because if this happens watch out...The lives of the entire human race would be in the hands of a very few who are out for greed...
You see this already, they use land to produc biofuel, they take away 10% of the world's feeding capability.
It takes a gallon of real fuel to make a gallon of biofuel. Go figure, it's not profitable therefore something very bad is at work...Like you said beasts...
