In the 37th Psalms the difference is shown in what the "evildoers" and "those that wait upon the Lord" will be. In it we see that both will be on earth during the tribulation.....

Psalms 37:19 They shall not be ashamed in THE EVIL TIME: And in the DAYS OF FAMINE they shall be satisfied.

Amos 8:11 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord God, that I will send a FAMINE IN THE LAND, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of HEARING THE WORDS OF THE LORD.

Psalms 37:9 For evildoers shall be cut off: But those that wait upon the Lord, they shall inherit the earth.

37:26 He is ever merciful, and lendeth; And his seed is blessed.

37:28 For the Lord loveth judgment, And forsaketh not His saints; They are preserved for ever: But the SEED OF THE WICKED shall be cut off.

In the end of days....the "evil time," which many think is now, or is quickly approaching that "hour of temptation," there will be a famine for hearing His Words. All of us will be here but who do we listen to or for?

There are two thoughts with that verse. We don't hear His Words because teachers and preachers seldom teach from The Book. They quote a few lines and then the hour is filled with whatever they deem important. The other thought is....when Satan is here, pretending to be Christ....we will hear Satan's words...not His Words. Notice...it is God that sends this famine. Are we prepared? Are we warning others? Are we storing up as Joseph did so we will have "bread" for those starving for truth?

Genesis 41:56 And the famine was over all the face of the earth: And Joseph opened all the storehouses, and sold unto the Egyptians; and the famine waxed sore in the land of Egypt.

41:57 And all countries came into Egypt to Joseph for to buy corn; because that the famine was so sore in all lands.

I don't know. But this reminds me of the most terrifying and realistic dream I had last year, I even went to work shook up and told some of the ladies there about it. I won't go into detail because it's long, but basically, something weird happened and there were no Bibles anywhere! Some man was preaching and I walked over and heard him saying all the wrong things and certain people were believing him and others were walking away. But because there were no Bibles, there was no way to actually prove what he was saying was truth or lie, or half-truth etc..unless you were filled already with His Word wink.gif

So defintely without a doubt we should be preparing for an even greater famine, to possibly come. I don't think it means to be verbatim with passages and verses, but to have the absolute basics of the Gospel, yes. And that means, to me really studying the Gospels, paying very close attention to the red writing. I've done this before in John, where I went through the whole book skipping everything except the words in red, it is amazing what He delivers!

Who Will Experience The Famine?

Mat 25:1-12 ASV
(1) Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, who took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.
(2) And five of them were foolish, and five were wise.
(3) For the foolish, when they took their lamps, took no oil with them:
(4) but the wise took OIL in their vessels with their lamps.
(5) Now while the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.
(6) But at midnight there is a cry, Behold, the bridegroom! Come ye forth to meet him.
(7) Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.
(8) And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are going out.
(9) But the wise answered, saying, Peradventure there will not be enough for us and you: go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.
(10) And while they went away to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage feast: and the door was shut.
(11) Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.
(12) But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.

The people without the oil (Holy Spirit) certainly will. wink.gif smile.gif

i would say from what i so far understand that the famine will come in tribulation. that those people who have filled themselves NOW with the truth of the word of God are those like joseph who stored up for what was comming. These are an example of the rev 12 manchild. They are growing from glory to glory, being purified and having a renewed mind by the word of God so that when the darkness comes THEY ARE THE LIGHT. Just as Joseph was a light for food in famine, and Jesus IS the Light.

At the beginning of trib, the saints go into the wildneress where they are fed of this manchild the pure word of the truth so that they all can also be the light. Just as Joseph's brothers had to come to him and be fed from him to survive the famine.and Just as the people in Jesus day had to come and be fed by Him the light of the truth.

When these people ( the believers) go into the wilderness, there will not be anyone left in the " world" that has truth and light and spiritual food. Those of the harlot church will stay comfy in their buildings and pews where they never had spiritual food anyways and they will play church just as they do now, and they will hate those believers who heard God and fled into the wilderness. They have no light and will be able to give the world no light during that time.

Only as those in the wilderness journey to the cities and peoples to preach the truth and bring people out of the world and into the wilderness will people be able to not starve for spiritual meat and drink.

the place of food will be the wilderness but the world will starve

Isa 32:9 Rise up, ye women that are at ease; hear my voice, ye careless daughters; give ear unto my speech.

Isa 32:10 Many days and years shall ye be troubled, ye careless women: for the vintage shall fail, the gathering shall not come.

Isa 32:11 Tremble, ye women that are at ease; be troubled, ye careless ones: strip you, and make you bare, and gird [sackcloth] upon [your] loins.

Isa 32:12 They shall lament for the teats, for the pleasant fields, for the fruitful vine.

Isa 32:13 Upon the land of my people shall come up thorns [and] briers; yea, upon all the houses of joy [in] the joyous city:

Isa 32:14 Because the palaces shall be forsaken; the multitude of the city shall be left; the forts and towers shall be for dens for ever, a joy of wild asses, a pasture of flocks;

Isa 32:15 Until the spirit be poured upon us from on high, and the wilderness be a fruitful field, and the fruitful field be counted for a forest.

Isa 32:16 Then judgment shall dwell in the wilderness, and righteousness remain in the fruitful field.

Isa 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.

Isa 32:18 And my people shall dwell in a peaceable habitation, and in sure dwellings, and in quiet resting places;

Isa 32:19 When it shall hail, coming down on the forest; and the city shall be low in a low place.

Isa 32:20 Blessed [are] ye that sow beside all waters, that send forth [thither] the feet of the ox and the ---.

Rev 12:5 And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and [to] his throne.

Rev 12:6 And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred [and] threescore days.

I think you're right Nightmare.....few hear the Words of the Lord now. I believe folks are starving and trust that what they are fed is the Word of God....but it isn't. sad.gif

It will get worse though. When Satan is here, pretending to be Christ....those that aren't expecting it will believe everything he tells them. Then....there will be no "hearing the words of the Lord." There will be hearing the words of who they think is the Lord.
signet
the bigger message is the famine of the word...

and without it many will starve to death.
MMarc

Good posts, "people are destroyed for lack of knowledge"

The knowledge of the Lord is food, the teachings etc.

"To those who overcome I will give of the hidden manna" hidden food or teaching if you will.

I've been reflecting on these scriptures for awhile now. I think you are right on- sadly sad.gif right on.

Lord, You can take my house, my things, my life- but please don't take Your presence from me. Please don't ever stop speaking. I can endure anything if I know You are by my side, going before me, fighting on my behalf, covering me with Your wings.

Julie,
I second that...
