One of the things that I have noticed about those who fill the office of prophet in the church today is that quite often, when they are given a message to deliver to those who should listen, they are ignored. There are those who stand on their own ground and preach their own message about how things should be, and the rest of the believers who are just as immature in spiritual growth as those who would presume to lead join the "Amen!" chorus.

Prophets have never had it easy, and probably never will. It isnīt usually the unbeliever who makes life difficult for them, but those who would under any other circumstance call themselves "brothers and sisters". They become so convinced that what they think is correct that they regard the "still, quiet voice" that is constantly speaking to them, telling them to adjust their course and thinking a little bit as "the debbil, out to get them and lead them astray!!".

When there is as much turmoil and controversy going on in a body of believers as there is right now, then there is something going on in the spiritual as well, the name calling and controversy a manifestation of this battle. Not everyone who is a believer is going to be right on target in this particular battle and when that is the case, then there is a good chance you are going to inflict "friendly fire" on a fellow believer. Some will say "Well, they shouldnīt have been there and then it wouldnīt have happened" without realizing or considering the fact it is the Spirit of God from whom we get our marching orders and instructions. Would God allow a fellow believer to be wounded in this manner? No.

Proceed cautiously with what you say, and how you have to say it. In the walk of a prophet, more often than not he can only pray what is in Ps. 35:1 when those who are supposed to be brothers and sisters are beating him up. "Contend, O Lord, with those who contend with me; fight with those who fight against me." And it is only because the faith he has developed in the rough road he must often walk allows him to know that God will do just that and in the right measure.

And should you choose to respond to this, 99% of the time, anything else is a purely emotional, human response and has very little if anything to do with God.

In Christ
