Jn 1:
1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2The same was in the beginning with God. 3All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
It is plain to see from this passage that the apostles believed that Jesus christ was God..
For He made all things ..Its specifically taught that the heavens were made by His hands..heb 1:
9Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.
10And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands:
we know from context that the lord Jesus christ is being referred to:
6And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.
7And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire. 8But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.
Now be advised, the arch enemy of God, the devil, has raised up ministers of righteousness to corrupt and to deny the truth. There are many diverse ways the enemy does this, thru scripture twisting and by manuscript argumentation ranging from using different manscripts to change the meaning of scripture, to flat out taking the scripture out of the bible by guise of manuscript corruption..But nevertheless Gods elect cannot be fooled ..matt 24:
24For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect
Blessings to God, we cannot be fooled or decieved with their madness and folly..
The passage attributed to the Son in heb 1: 9 -10 is fromthe Old test in ps 102:
24I said, O my God, take me not away in the midst of my days: thy years are throughout all generations.
25Of old hast thou laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the work of thy hands.
26They shall perish, but thou shalt endure: yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment; as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed: 27But thou art the same, and thy years shall have no end.
This is referring to the One God, and I believe just to one specific person in the Godhead, the Lord Jesus christ..
Not only was everything made by Him, but He upholds and sustains the whole universe with the word of His power..heb 1:
2Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; 3Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high:
He is managing all things of the universe by His power..
The preserver of the universe
This is something no mere creature could do..This can be done by only one as God..
So, as John writes, and the word was God..
