`WHAT’S HE WAITING FOR ?`
RE:[The last leaf on the tree, story . . .]

by: Betty C. Clark

Today, 11-22-08, as I read the comic section of the AJC newspaper, I saw a comic
under ‘Mutts’.

Both ‘Mutts’ are looking up at the tall tree, with one remaining leaf. The anticipation of the ‘Mutts’ awaiting the one leaf to drop to the ground, has this caption :

What’s He Waiting For ?

I said to myself, ‘Unlike Biblical Revelation, where the leaves of ‘The Tree of Life’,
are for the healing of the nations, this tree in the cartoon had lost all its leaves, except
one’. I began to think how our Nation, may also have only one leaf remaining, attached
to the tree branch. If the success of the healing of the nations is required to be a distribution of the one leaf, indeed deficiencies would be expected.

All our Nations leaves have disassociated, from the limbs of the tree.

The winter is upon us, the nutritional presentation of the sap pulling toward its
roots is established, to nourish the root source. The environment around the one tree leaf, suggest a harsh reality, that time is certainly against any odds that the last leaf will not fall.

As the leaf falls, we fall into a winter slumber of spiritual false expectations.

Those expectations have always been a promise of Spring budding forth, new
leaf growth.

Could this one leaf, the healing for the nations, be the last leaf, our beloved tree
generates upon earth ?

Like the ‘Mutts’ in the cartoon, looking up at the last leaf on the tree, are we looking
up also, saying :

WHAT’S HE WAITING FOR ?

* The `He`, being Messiah !

But how many were ever attached to the tree of Life?

There are many merchandise trees out there claiming to be the tree of Life.

But they are not.

They are the trees of the beast and they gather Caesar's image and spread the leavening of deceit in Christ's name.

And that is why the ironic message, came through the cartoon as `MUTTS`.

This reminded me of something I thought was so neat! A couple of years ago my Mom got a plant for her Birthday, well by early spring the plant was all dead except for literally one green leaf and stem. So my Mom was going to throw it out, but her sister (who gave her the plant) said she'd take it in and see what she could do with it...my Mom wasn't too positive. Well that summer my Mom was over at my aunts home and she saw a huge flourishing plant and she said "is that, that plant you took"?? My aunt said "yep"!

So even when all seems hopeless, and we're ready to throw it all away, one green stem or leaf can become a full green tree or plant in only a few months. All it takes is a little care and compassion and attention wink.gif One person see's the plant as hopeless, whilst another see's hope. Imagine if we could see everyone in this manner, rather than seeing certain folks as hopeless goners counted as garbage. God see's the green in all of us.

Oh well, I just thought I'd share that with you 1dsz5e4.gif

Imagine then a tree in winter, with no leaves at all.
Is it dead or merely sleeping?
For every spring, it starts to show the hidden buds
and be quick before it transforms into full bloom.

I wonder...if this is not something He is talking about when He say's:
Pray that your flight be not in winter, nor on a sabbath day? Think about that for a moment. What do we do in winter, hybernate or sleep/rest/get comfortable and cozy. Same for a sabbath day. So why would He then say "pray" your flight be not during the time of resting? That to me is something to consider. To always be awake, prepared and ready, even in times of resting?

Oh an another thing! Was it not during His last hour that the disciples kept falling asleep, and He came to them a couple of times and asked them to awaken and pray and watch? Interesting!!

The same verses keep ringing in my ear also!
I have a tendency to stay awake at night,
for something may be happening,
and I can not stand it when no one would be awake
to wake the others.

Yes :

If you review the 7 Festivals [Feast], you will see the calendar revealed to why it says,
" Pray that your flight be not in winter, nor on a sabbath day " . . .

And during His last hour, go read the timeline of the Feast versus His capture/crucifixation,
it also is encoded.

This is why I was told to write this excerpt, I will re-post :

BillD
From Autumn to The Beginning

After living what I felt was a 'decent' life, my time on earth came to the end.

The first thing I remember is sitting on a bench in the waiting
room of what I thought to be a courthouse.

The doors opened and I was instructed to come in and have a seat
by the defense table.

As I looked around I saw the 'prosecutor.'

He was a villainous looking gent who snarled as he stared at me.

He definitely was the most evil person I have ever seen.

I sat down and looked to my left and there sat My Attorney,
a kind and gentle looking man whose appearance seemed so familiar to
me, I felt I knew Him.

The corner door flew open and there appeared the Judge in full
flowing robes.

He commanded an awesome presence as He moved across the room I
couldn't take my eyes off of Him.

As He took His seat behind the bench, He said, 'Let us begin.'

The prosecutor rose and said,

'My name is Satan and I am here to show you why this woman
belongs in hell.'

He proceeded to tell of lies that I told, things that I stole,
and In the past when I cheated others Satan told of other horrible
Perversions that were once in my life and the more he spoke, the
further down in my seat I sank.

I was so embarrassed that I couldn't look at anyone, even my own
Attorney, as the Devil told of sins that even I had completely
forgotten about.

As upset as I was at Satan for telling all these things about
me, I was equally upset at My Attorney who sat there silently not
Offering any form of defense at all.

I know I had been guilty of those things, but I had done some
good in my life - couldn't that at least equal out part of the harm
I'd done?

Satan finished with a fury and said, 'This woman belongs in hell,
she is guilty of all that I have charged and there is not a person
who can prove otherwise.'

When it was His turn, My Attorney first asked if He might
approach the bench.

The Judge allowed this over the strong objection of Satan,
and beckoned Him to come forward.

As He got up and started walking, I was able to see Him in
His full splendor and majesty.

I realized why He seemed so familiar; this was Jesus
representing me, my Lord and my Savior.
!
He stopped at the bench and softly said to the Judge, 'Hi,
Dad,' and then He turned to address the court.

' Satan was correct in saying that this woman had sinned;
I won't deny any of these allegations.

And, yes, the wage of sin is death, and this woman deserves to be
punished.'

Jesus took a deep breath and turned to His Father with
outstretched arms and proclaimed, 'However, I died on the cross so
that this person might have eternal life and she has accepted Me as her
Savior, so she is Mine.'

My Lord continued with, 'Her name is written in the Book of Life,
and no one can snatch her from Me.

Satan still does not understand yet.
This woman is not to be given justice, but rather mercy.'

As Jesus sat down,

He quietly paused, looked at His Father and said,
'There is nothing else that needs to be done.'

'I've done it all.'

The Judge lifted His mighty hand and slammed the gavel down.
The following words bellowed from His lips..

'This woman is free.'

The penalty for her has already been paid in full.

'Case dismissed.'

As my Lord led me away, I could hear Satan ranting and raving,
'I won't give up, I will win the next one.' I asked Jesus as He gave
me my instructions where to go next, 'Have you ever lost a case?'

Christ lovingly smiled and said,

'Everyone that has come to Me and asked Me to represent them
has received the same verdict as you,

A Special Find

A little boy opened the big and old family Bible with fascination, and looked at the old pages as he turned them.

Suddenly, something fell out of the Bible, and he picked it up and looked at it closely. It was an old leaf from a tree that had been pressed in between the pages.

"Momma, look what I found," the boy called out.

"What have you got there, dear?" his mother asked.

With astonishment in the young boy's voice, he answered: "I think it's Adam's suit!"

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leaf

In botany, a leaf is an above-ground plant organ specialized for photosynthesis. For this purpose, a leaf is typically flat (laminar) and thin, to expose the cells containing chloroplast to light over a broad area, and to allow light to penetrate fully into the tissues. Leaves are also the sites in most plants where transpiration and guttation take place. Leaves can store food and water, and are modified in some plants for other purposes.
