THE SERPENT

The Hebrew word for "serpent" in [Gen.3] is "Nachash" (from the root Nachash, to shine), and means "a shining one." In Chaldee it means "brass" or "copper" because of it's shining.



The Nachash, or serpent, who beguiled Eve [2 Corin.11:3] is spoken of as "an angel of light," in vs. 14. So, we see that the serpent wasn't a literal snake but a glorious shining one…an angel, an angel Eve was fascinated with.

Satan must be quite pleased with the way mankind has perpetuated the traditions of a snake and an apple in the garden, thus hiding God's truth.

Remember also, that after the fall in the garden, God punished the serpent by changing its form.

"And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou [art] cursed above all cattle, and above every BEAST of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life"
-Genesis 3:14

Only after God's punishment would the the serpent become an animal that would crawl on its belly. This suggests that the serpent did not look like what we may thing of as a serpent today. Although the serpent was a 'BEAST' (Gen.3:1) it was "more subtle" than any other; it was shrewd... smart. (Strong's H6175)

To reiterate, the serpent did not look like what we think of as a serpent today; that form came only after God's punishment. Therefore, whatever the serpent's form was when it appeared to Eve (probably a beautiful angel of light) prior to The Fall, it was not in the form of a present-day serpent... nor a typical snake.

Actually, the serpent was changed into an image resembling a male sex organ... an image that has been worshiped all over the world, from ancient times to the present. Snake and phallic symbolism is ubiquitous. Possibly, this symbolism may be connected to the image of the BEAST:

"And he had power to give life unto the IMAGE OF THE BEAST, that the IMAGE OF THE BEAST should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the IMAGE OF THE BEAST should be killed."
-Revelation 13:15

Albert Pike also reveals that other Mystery Religions throughout the world worshipped the serpent, in various ways. Let's look at some of the examples: [quotes below taken from Morals and Dogma, p. 496-500]

* "The Phoenicians represented the God Nomu (Kneph or Amun-Kneph) by a serpent"

* "In Egypt, a Sun supported by two asps was the emblem of Horhat the good genius; the serpent with the winged globe was placed over the doors and windows of the Temples as a tutelary God." [Note: "tutelary" means "guardian"] "The portals of the Egyptian Temples are decorated with the hierogram of the Circle and the Serpent"

* In ancient Tyre, and India, "a serpent was ... coiled around the trunk of a tree. Python, the Serpent Deity, was esteemed oracular; and the tripod at Delphi was a triple-headed serpent of gold."

* The serpent "is found upon the Temple of Naki-Rustan in Persia, on the triubmphal arch at Pechin, in China, over the gates of the great Temple of Chaundi Teeva, in Java; upon the walls of Athens ... The Mexican hierogram was formed by the intersecting of two great Serpents, which described the circle with their bodies, and each a human head in its mouth."

* "All the Buddhist crosses in Ireland had serpents carved upon them. Wreaths of snakes are on the columns of the ancient Hindu Temple at Burwah-Sangor."

Yes, all over the World we see the trail of the Serpent, and even in the Freemasonry Organization!

Did Genesis say that it was satan who was in that garden? Satan was casts out from heaven and from the garden so how did satan get back in again?

Satan was on earth in the first age. He seduced Eve in this present age and then Christ said....Get thee behind Me. He is now held by Michael. His spirit roams earth but not him.

Can anyone share with us to that age old question to why did God allow that serpent in the garden in the first place or why god allow the devil to tempt eve?

I think it has to do with free will. If god restrict then that means we would all be robots.

it is to my understanding that this creature in which we gave it a name as the serpent but really the hebrew has it as a shining creature. Now you tell me this. Have we been tempted before? That voices that we hear in our head when we be taken test or our consciousness to steal or not to steal or to do good or bad, well isn't that a form of communication? Could this be the case with eve and who she talks to? Do you get scared when you talk to your own subconscious mind?

5:15 And they come to Jesus, and see him that was possessed with THE DEVIL, and had the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.

Satan was on earth in the first age....
That is a very lengthy study but consider that Satan was already in his fallen state when he seduced Eve. When did he fall if not the previous age? There are references to the first age throughout the Bible.

Those are very much of a great help. When I shared them good news that I studies or learned from you guys to my peers, they will never believe me unless I bring forth some bible verses for references.

I also found another bible verse that shows how this satan is roaming earth.

Job 1:7 The LORD said to Satan, “From where do you come?” Then Satan answered the LORD and said, “From roaming about on the earth and walking around on it.”

Now it makes me curious to why our Lord does what he does. If he know it all, why bother asking? Just like how he asked Adam to where he is (after the fall) when he should know where he is. Now he is asking Satan to where he came from.

Psa 72:9 They that dwell in the wilderness shall bow before him; And his enemies shall lick the dust.

Dust lickers.

The Lord's enemies will lick .... just like satan does

Well now...that's an interesting find !

The devil devours....what he devours is dust......what are we.....we are dust I'm glad the caveat..."whom he may devour" was there.

(Rev. 20:1-2) (v.1) And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. (v.2) And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years.

And they didn't eat an apple. (Can an apple make you wise?) But yea they ate fruit all right, the fruit of lies.

(Hosea 10:14) Ye have plowed wickedness, ye have reaped iniquity; ye have eaten the fruit of lies: because thou didst trust in thy way, in the multitude of thy mighty men.

And man has been dying ever since. So what if Adam and Eve hadn't listened to Satan and obeyed God? Man would have eaten from the tree of life (Jesus) and learned how to live forever. Can we understand the significance of that, do we know how far man has fallen. I'll tell you how far we have fallen, we have fallen from Godhood. But by God's grace we have the power to become the sons of God.

(John 1:12-13) (v.12) But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name. Who's name? The name of Jesus, yes Jesus is God. (v.13) Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man but of God.

I'm talking about Physically born again into God's family. Not a change of mind, but a change of body, to become the Sons of God with POWER.

Now I would like to pose a question to you. The Lord God told Adam that the day he ate of the forbidden tree (Satan) that same day he would surely die. But Adam lived to be nine hundred and thirty years old.

(Gen. 5:5) And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years: and he died. God can not lie.
(Num. 23:19) God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? Or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good? And the bible says that scripture cannot be broken:

(John 10:35) If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken.

Now since God can not lie and the scripture can not be broken, how do you explain how Adam lived to be nine hundred and thirty years old when God said that he would die the same day he ate from the tree of knowledge of good and evil?

Let the bible speak. (2Peter 3:8) But beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years, as one day.

(Psalm 90:4) For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.

Most unlearned teachers and preachers would try to explain that Adam died spiritually that same day; no he died physically that same day. Not our twenty-four hour day, but a day as the Lords sees it, one thousand years. That's why nobody in the bible ever lived more than a thousand years. The oldest person was Me-thu'-se-lah and he lived nine hundred sixty and nine years.

(Gen. 5:27) And all the days of Me-thu'-se-lah were nine hundred and sixty nine years: and he died.

That 1000 year question was easy,,,,,,,,Glad to see you understand the fruit she tooh is the same fruit as if you lie to someone and get them in trouble.......I see alot of people starting to realize that the fruit was not literal fruit,,,,but many still dont understnad what eating that fruit/lies lead to.......
