Christians Standing with Israel - Various opinions

The following article was written by Mikael Knighton, the founder of Christians Standing with Israel and is meant to provide an overall scope of the Christian Zionist mindset in a world diametrically opposed to their beliefs. Unfortunately, such opposition is relatively easy to find inside and outside the Christian church. At the article's conclusion, an overview of the organization and ministry of Christians Standing with Israel is provided.

Christians must love the Jews and back Israel

"
Hartman continued: "There are people who will teach that because of what the Jews have done, God has turned his back on them. . . . Here you have the biblical formula for the elimination of the Jew. You don't have to try and kill them off -- that's not going to work. God tells us here what will work -- stop the sun from shining; stop the moon and stars from lighting the night and affecting the sea; figure out a way to measure the depths of the earth and the expanse of heaven. If you do that, then God will stop the nation of Israel from existing. But until then, don't waste your time. It can't be done.

The Jews will not be removed from the Earth as a nation before God because he said so."

Hartman's words remind Christians of the depths of God's love for his people. The Bible commands believers to "pray for the peace of Jerusalem" (Psalms 122:6) and promises in the same verse, "those who love you will be secure." As Christians, we must remember our duty to love and to pray for those whom God calls "the apple of his eye." "

Beware of evangelicals who love Israel, loathe Jews
James D. Besser

How long will it be before Jews learn that many Christians who are most ardent in their love of Israel don't have much fondness for Jews?

That issue came into focus again last week when the National Archives released a new batch of tapes from Richard Nixon's darkly shadowed White House.

Most news stories focused on Nixon's casual reference to using nuclear weapons in Vietnam, but the Jewish community's attention was captured by something else: anti-Semitic comments by the Rev. Billy Graham, the world's best known evangelical leader and an icon of Christian moderation. (Last week the evangelist issued a statement apologizing for the comments but insisting he did not remember making them).

Bill Maher... funny guy.

But again...they misrepresent many of us that support Israel. I find it offensive that they label all of us in that light.

I'm not saying that there are not some who do take it like that. No real love for the people or Israel. But they only think of themselves and how much they want Yeshua to return.

However....Yeshua is not returning to turn away from His people. He is coming to SAVE them...ie...the Jews.

And the Lord wants us to love His people...to help them... so shower blessings on them. This is how I view it.
Not to mention...I feel we all owe it to them.

The NCC, (National Council of Churches) like the rest of the Religious Left, prefers to dismiss all pro-Israel evangelicals as “Left-Behind” fanatics whose support for the Jews is merely a crass and self-serving preparation for the end-times. CFI’s “efforts are the latest in a century old apocalyptic movement that began in earnest in the 19th century,” the NCC asserted. “Sometimes called Christian Zionism because of its uncritical support for the State of Israel, it is based on a literal reading of Biblical apocalyptic texts.”

Actually, Zionism and philo-semitism have a long history in Christianity, arguably dating back to the New Testament, whose writers were themselves Jews who followed a Jewish messiah, obviously. But more specifically among Western Protestants, a mystical attachment to the Jewish people and a belief in their connectedness to the land of Israel originated at least with the English Puritans. Zionism of some sort has nearly always resonated among some religionists in America over the last 400 years.
