Can someone help me out by finding a better verse for them teachings to why foul languages or curse words are a sin?
This verse here was rejected by my peer reviews.
Job 31:30 Neither have I suffered my mouth to sin by wishing a curse to his soul.
The thing about dealing with the tongue, is the fruits of the spirit, because at all times we have to control our month. I know some people thats real nice, and sometimes words come out wrong or harsh, but its something that we all have to master, that tongue.Proverbs 16:32 He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and
he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city.
Proverbs 13:3 He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life: but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction.
James 3:5 Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!
3:6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.
3:8 But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.
This a example of Israel sinning against God, and running off at the month.Jeremiah 9:1 Oh that my head were waters, and mine eyes a fountain of tears, that I might weep day and night for the slain of the daughter of my people!
9:2 Oh that I had in the wilderness a lodging place of wayfaring men; that I might leave my people, and go from them! for
they be all adulterers, an assembly of treacherous men.
9:3
And they bend their tongues like their bow for lies: but they are not valiant for the truth upon the earth; for they proceed from evil to evil, and they know not me, saith the LORD.
9:4 Take ye heed every one of his neighbour, and trust ye not in any brother: for every brother will utterly supplant, and every neighbour will walk with slanders.
9:5 And they will deceive every one his neighbour, and will not speak the truth: they have taught their tongue to speak lies, and weary themselves to commit iniquity.
9:8
Their tongue is as an arrow shot out; it speaketh deceit: one speaketh peaceably to his neighbour with his mouth, but in heart he layeth his wait. Matthew 12:34
O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. 12:35
A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things. 12:36
But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
