Gen 7:11 In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.

Gen 8:4 And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat.

Why did God tell us the ********DATE*******of the Ark’s landing?

The Passover lamb was killed on the FOURTEENTH day of the seventh month (Nisan).
Christ said that he would rise from the dead on the third day,,,,,,,,,after 3 days and 3 nights.
Which would be the SEVENTEENTH DAY of Nisan.
THE ARK LANDED ON THE MOUNTAIN ON THAT DAY OF THAT MONTH…….GEN 8;4
Which is a picture of resurrection………a new life, a new beginning, a new creation

1Sa 30:12 And they gave him a piece of a cake of figs, and two clusters of raisins: and when he had eaten, his spirit came again to him: for he had eaten no bread, nor drunk any water, three days and three nights.
THIS MAN WAS LIKE DEAD………..”HIS SPIRIT CAME AGAIN TO HIM”………..A PICTURE OF RESURRECTION………(OR A REAL RESURRECTION?)

Est 4:16 Go, gather together all the Jews that are present in Shushan, and fast ye for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day: I also and my maidens will fast likewise; and so will I go in unto the king, which is not according to the law: and if I perish, I perish.
ESTHER THOUGHT THAT SHE WAS AS GOOD AS DEAD,,,,,,,,,BUT SHE DIDN’T DIE.
THE JEWS THOUGHT THAT THEY WERE AS GOOD AS DEAD,,,,,,,,,,BUT THEY DIDN’T DIE.
A PICTURE-STORY OF RESURRECTION FROM THE DEAD.

Jon 1:17 Now the LORD had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.
JONAH DIED,,,,,,,,HE WAS DEAD FOR 3 DAYS AND 3 NITES, JUST LIKE JESUS……….BOTH MEN ROSE FROM THE DEAD.

Mat 12:40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
JESUS GAVE THE JEWS ONLY 1 SIGN……….THE SIGN OF JONAH………….resurrection, a new creation.
JONAH ROSE FROM THE DEAD AFTER 3 DAYS AND 3 NIGHTS………….JUST LIKE JESUS.

RESURRECTION IS THE MEGA-SIGN FROM GOD.
THE SIGN OF SIGNS!
THE MOTHER OF ALL SIGNS!
BUT, BE AWARE OF SATAN’S FAKE-RESURRECTION………
Rev 13:3 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.

Luk 24:21 But we trusted that it had been he which should have redeemed Israel: and beside all this, to day is the third day since these things were done.
ON SUNDAY, THE 2 DISCIPLES SAID …….IT HAS BEEN 3 DAYS SINCE THE CROSS.

SO, HOW MANY WITNESSES DO WE HAVE FOR THE “”””””3 DAYS AND 3 NIGHTS””””””””?
1. NOAH
2. THE OT PASSOVER INSTRUCTIONS
3. 1 SAMUEL 30;12
4. THE BOOK OF ESTHER
5. JONAH
6. JESUS
7. THE APOSTLES AND LUKE WROTE THE NT
8. THE 2 DISCIPLES ON THE ROAD TO EMMAUS

THE RESURRECTION WAS ON SUNDAY ABOUT DAWN.
SO, THE CROSS MUST HAVE BEEN ON THURSDAY.

Joh 18:28 Then led they Jesus from Caiaphas unto the hall of judgment: and it was early; and they themselves went not into the judgment hall, lest they should be defiled; but that they might eat the passover.
On Thursday morning, the jews would not defile themselves,,,,,,,,,,they wanted to eat the Passover lamb later that night.
On Thursday afternoon, the lambs and Jesus (the Lamb of God) were killed at the same moment….(tremendous symbolism).
So, the Lord’s Supper was Wednesday night…with bread and wine, but no lamb.
The Passover meal was Thursday night………with roasted lamb.

The Ark is a picture-shadow of the Flood-War in the ENDTIMES.
Flood = War.

Num 9:11 The fourteenth day of the second month at even they shall keep it, and eat it with unleavened bread and bitter herbs.
The OT Passover was eaten with bitter herbs, to remember the hardships of the Egyptian slavery.
The NT Passover is eaten with wine and bread………without bitter herbs.
The OT Passover is without wine (wine = Joy of the NT).
The NT Passover is Christ Himself (Christ is our Joy!).
1Co 5:7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:

Jos 5:1 And it came to pass, when all the kings of the Amorites, which were on the side of Jordan westward, and all the kings of the Canaanites, which were by the sea, heard that the LORD had dried up the waters of Jordan from before the children of Israel, until we were passed over, that their heart melted, neither was there spirit in them any more, because of the children of Israel.
Jos 5:2 At that time the LORD said unto Joshua, Make thee sharp knives, and circumcise again the children of Israel the second time.
Jos 5:3 And Joshua made him sharp knives, and circumcised the children of Israel at the hill of the foreskins.
Jos 5:4 And this is the cause why Joshua did circumcise: All the people that came out of Egypt, that were males, even all the men of war, died in the wilderness by the way, after they came out of Egypt.
Jos 5:5 Now all the people that came out were circumcised: but all the people that were born in the wilderness by the way as they came forth out of Egypt, them they had not circumcised.
Jos 5:6 For the children of Israel walked forty years in the wilderness, till all the people that were men of war, which came out of Egypt, were consumed, because they obeyed not the voice of the LORD: unto whom the LORD sware that he would not shew them the land, which the LORD sware unto their fathers that he would give us, a land that floweth with milk and honey.
Jos 5:7 And their children, whom he raised up in their stead, them Joshua circumcised: for they were uncircumcised, because they had not circumcised them by the way.
Jos 5:8 And it came to pass, when they had done circumcising all the people, that they abode in their places in the camp, till they were whole.
Crossing the Jordan = decision to believe the Gospel
Physical circumcision (OT) must precede the OT Passover.
Spiritual circumcision (NT) must precede the SPIRITUAL BIRTH FROM HEAVEN (BORN-AGAIN EXPERIENCE, THE BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT).

Mat 1:17 So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations.
FOURTEEN symbolizes the Death of Christ for our sins, (the Passover death of the lamb).

Exo 12:5 Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year: ye shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats:
Exo 12:6 And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening.
Exo 12:7 And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it.

Exo 12:11 And thus shall ye eat it; with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and ye shall eat it in haste: it is the LORD'S passover.
Exo 12:12 For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the LORD.

Exo 12:14 And this day shall be unto you for a memorial; and ye shall keep it a feast to the LORD throughout your generations; ye shall keep it a feast by an ordinance for ever.
Exo 12:15 Seven days shall ye eat unleavened bread; even the first day ye shall put away leaven out of your houses: for whosoever eateth leavened bread from the first day until the seventh day, that soul shall be cut off from Israel.
Exo 12:16 And in the first day there shall be an holy convocation, and in the seventh day there shall be an holy convocation to you; no manner of work shall be done in them, save that which every man must eat, that only may be done of you.
Exo 12:17 And ye shall observe the feast of unleavened bread; for in this selfsame day have I brought your armies out of the land of Egypt: therefore shall ye observe this day in your generations by an ordinance for ever.
Exo 12:18 In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at even, ye shall eat unleavened bread, until the one and twentieth day of the month at even.
Exo 12:19 Seven days shall there be no leaven found in your houses: for whosoever eateth that which is leavened, even that soul shall be cut off from the congregation of Israel, whether he be a stranger, or born in the land.
Exo 12:20 Ye shall eat nothing leavened; in all your habitations shall ye eat unleavened bread.
Exo 12:21 Then Moses called for all the elders of Israel, and said unto them, Draw out and take you a lamb according to your families, and kill the passover.
Exo 12:22 And ye shall take a bunch of hyssop, and dip it in the blood that is in the bason, and strike the lintel and the two side posts with the blood that is in the bason; and none of you shall go out at the door of his house until the morning.
Exo 12:23 For the LORD will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, the LORD will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you.
Exo 12:24 And ye shall observe this thing for an ordinance to thee and to thy sons for ever.
Exo 12:25 And it shall come to pass, when ye be come to the land which the LORD will give you, according as he hath promised, that ye shall keep this service.
Exo 12:26 And it shall come to pass, when your children shall say unto you, What mean ye by this service?
Exo 12:27 That ye shall say, It is the sacrifice of the LORD'S passover, who passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt, when he smote the Egyptians, and delivered our houses. And the people bowed the head and worshipped.
Exo 12:28 And the children of Israel went away, and did as the LORD had commanded Moses and Aaron, so did they.
Exo 12:29 And it came to pass, that at midnight the LORD smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh that sat on his throne unto the firstborn of the captive that was in the dungeon; and all the firstborn of cattle.
Exo 12:30 And Pharaoh rose up in the night, he, and all his servants, and all the Egyptians; and there was a great cry in Egypt; for there was not a house where there was not one dead.
Exo 12:31 And he called for Moses and Aaron by night, and said, Rise up, and get you forth from among my people, both ye and the children of Israel; and go, serve the LORD, as ye have said.
Exo 12:32 Also take your flocks and your herds, as ye have said, and be gone; and bless me also.
Exo 12:33 And the Egyptians were urgent upon the people, that they might send them out of the land in haste; for they said, We be all dead men.

Exo 12:37 And the children of Israel journeyed from Rameses to Succoth, about six hundred thousand on foot that were men, beside children.
Exo 12:38 And a mixed multitude went up also with them; and flocks, and herds, even very much cattle.
Exo 12:39 And they baked unleavened cakes of the dough which they brought forth out of Egypt, for it was not leavened; because they were thrust out of Egypt, and could not tarry, neither had they prepared for themselves any victual.
Exo 12:40 Now the sojourning of the children of Israel, who dwelt in Egypt, was four hundred and thirty years.
Exo 12:41 And it came to pass at the end of the four hundred and thirty years, even the selfsame day it came to pass, that all the hosts of the LORD went out from the land of Egypt.
Exo 12:42 It is a night to be much observed unto the LORD for bringing them out from the land of Egypt: this is that night of the LORD to be observed of all the children of Israel in their generations.
Exo 12:43 And the LORD said unto Moses and Aaron, This is the ordinance of the passover: There shall no stranger eat thereof:
Exo 12:44 But every man's servant that is bought for money, when thou hast circumcised him, then shall he eat thereof.
Exo 12:45 A foreigner and an hired servant shall not eat thereof.
Exo 12:46 In one house shall it be eaten; thou shalt not carry forth ought of the flesh abroad out of the house; neither shall ye break a bone thereof.
Exo 12:47 All the congregation of Israel shall keep it.
Exo 12:48 And when a stranger shall sojourn with thee, and will keep the passover to the LORD, let all his males be circumcised, and then let him come near and keep it; and he shall be as one that is born in the land: for no uncircumcised person shall eat thereof.
Exo 12:49 One law shall be to him that is homeborn, and unto the stranger that sojourneth among you.
Exo 12:50 Thus did all the children of Israel; as the LORD commanded Moses and Aaron, so did they.
Exo 12:51 And it came to pass the selfsame day, that the LORD did bring the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt by their armies.

I thought Passover was the on the first month Exodus 12 "It shall be the beginning of the year....

But I know God provided a second passover for those who missed the first, a month later.

Noah landed in the 7th month, this is where the fall feasts are celebrated in the 7th month. End time feasts...

Jesus said it would be like in the days of Noah...

I know 120 Jubilese (6000 years)have passed since creation we are entering the 7th millenium (7th month)....

God told Noah His spirit will only strive with men 120 years. Likewise God put up with the world 120 jubilees.

Just a little more elaboration on the topic

Leviticus (23:5) In the fourteenth day of the first month at even is the Lord's passover.
(23:6) And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread unto the Lord: seven days ye must eat unleavened bread.

John (18:39) But you have a custom, that I should release unto you one at the passover: will ye therefore that I release unto you the King of the Jews?

(Matthew 26:1) And it came to pass, when Jesus had finished all these sayings, he said unto his disciples,
(2) Ye know that after two days is the feast of the passover, and the Son of man is betrayed to be crucified.

Now remember God's days start at evening and end the next evening. Keep that in mind as you view the next set of scriptures. Jesus had been betrayed by Judas the evening of the Passover.

John 13 tells how Jesus and His disciples, that evening, were sharing the Passover meal.

John (18:3) shows that same evening; Jesus was betrayed and taken away. It was still nighttime when they took Jesus, because the men that came and took and bound Him had lanterns and torches.

Jesus was crucified the next day but it was still the Passover. Remember God's days run from sundown to sundown. Jesus
had been taken into custody the night of the Passover and the next morning which is the day of the Passover, He was condemned and crucified. The following verses deomonstrate how Pilate was willing to release Jesus the morning after he had been taken in to custody. It was still the Passover. We all know the Jews refused and Jesus was crucified.

(John 18:39) But ye have a custom, that I should release unto you one at the passover: will ye therefore that I release unto you the King of the Jews? (40) Then cried they all again, saying, Not this man, but Barabbas. Now Barabbas was a robber.

Remember Mark (15:42) Joseph craved the body of Jesus the evening of the Passover. Now one can see that this was towards the end of the Passover.

3 Days And 3 Nights

The scriptures explain how Jesus was in the earth 3 days and 3 nights just as He had foretold.
How It Really Happened

3 Days And 3 Nights SU M T W TH F S

Days 1 1 1

Nights 1 1 1

In looking at the previous scriptures one should now have a better understanding, as to what took place. Remember Mary did not come to the Grave site until the first day of the week which is Sunday.

(John 20:1) "The first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, when it was yet dark, unto the sepulcher", And it was early in the morning and it was still dark. But Jesus had already risen. That's because Jesus went into His grave right before the end of the Passover or Wed. evening.

The passing of the Passover brought in the Feast of the Unleavened Bread. So Jesus would Have been in the Grave Wednesday night, Thursday daytime and Thursday night, Friday daytime, Friday night, Saturday daytime and Jesus rose right before the sun went down on Saturday. Hence one has the 3 days and 3 nights which Jesus prophesied.

His death Wednesday night is consistent with the comment of the prophet Daniel, stating the Messiah would be cut off (killed) in the midst of the week.

Daniel 9:(26-27) 26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.
27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week (Wednesday is the middle of the week) he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, (Remember, Jesus is the sacrificial Passover Lamb).

THE JEWS had 2 years

the religious year starts with Nisan..........march-april

the civil year starts with TISHRI........sept-oct

so, passover = nisan 14
pentecost is about mid-may

new year = mid-sept
day of atonememt = about end of sept

First of all God did set the days from evening to evening, but when we get to the NT we have to sets of timekeeping the Jewish and the Roman. The book of John generally tells time the Roman way from midnight to midnight.
Now as for the time in the tomb Christ predicted that He would be raised from the dead "the third day" (Matthew 16:21). However, He also declared that He would rise "after three days" (Mark 8:31). To complicate the seeming difficulty, Jesus further stated that He would be in the grave "three days and three nights" (Matthew 12:40) These references, which some see as disharmonious, puzzle sincere Bible students. What is the explanation?
The solution lies in understanding how the Jews measure time. According to a Hebrew idiom, any part of a day could be counted as a whole day and night (cf John Lightfoot, Commentary on the New Testament from the Talmud & Hebraica, II, pp, 210-211). There are many examples of such usage in the Scriptures.
(1) The rain of the flood was on the earth "forty days and forty nights," or "forty days" (Genesis 7:12,17).
(2) In 1 Samuel 30:12,13, "three days and three nights" and "three days" are equivalent expressions.
(3) When Israel asked Rehoboam to lighten its burdens he said: "Go away for three days, then come again to me." They returned on "the third day" (cf. 1 Kings 12:5,12).
(4)When Esther was about to risk entrance into the king's presence, she requested her fellow Jews to neither " eat nor drink three days, night or day," but on "the third day," she went unto the king (Esther 4:16; 5:1).
(5) Finally, note this. The Pharisees said to Pilate, Sir, we remember how that impostor said, while he was still alive, 'After three days I will rise.' Therefore order the tomb to be made secure until the third day.
One must understand, therefore, how the Israelites computed time. Our Lord did not contradict Himself! Is it not significant that no Jew ever accused Him of such in connection with His resurrection prophecies?
Jesus was crucified on a Friday (cf Mark 15:42) and rose on Sunday:
"But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they went to the tomb, taking the spices they had prepared...That very day two of them were going to a village named Emmaus... But we had hoped that he was the one to redeem Israel. Yes, and besides all this, it is now the third day since these things happened" (Luke 24:1,13,21).

Christ said ........3 days and 3 nites

this has nothing to do with .......A 24 HOUR DAY FROM SUNSET TO SUNSET

days = the lighted time of the day

nites = the dark part of the --------

so, day = from dawn to dusk
nite = from dusk to dawn

the Cross had to be on Thursday afternoon

thursday was only a part of a day,,,,,,,,but it counts as "a day"

thurs, fri, sat = 3 days
thurs nite, fri nite, sat nite = 3 nites

Did you even read what I wrote before you replied???
1- a day is 24hrs no matter how you look at it.
2- Christ not only said 3 days and 3 nights (Matthew 12:40), but He also said "the third day" (Matthew 16:21) and "after three days" (Mark 8:31). How do you explain the contradiction?
3- No one in biblical times calculated time as you have it.
4- We know from Mark 15:42 that He was crucified the day before the Sabbath (Friday) and that the third day was Sunday by what is said in Luke 24.

He DM. Just for the heck of it, I went back to see if you have ever posted something that was original. Sometihng that you researched for yourself and proved through the scriptures. Well maybe I didn't go back far enough, but I did find this wrong teaching.

First of all the OT tells us exactly when Jesus died. Let's go to Dan.:

Dan.9
[27] And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease.

First let's see what 'ceased' when Christ died.

Matt. 27 [50] Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.
[51] And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;

Christ died, the veil was torn, and animal sacrifices ended.

And they ceased in the middle of the week, which would be Wed.

Now let's find out from Christ Himself how long a day is.

John.11
[9] Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world.

So since we know there are a total of 24 hrs in a day, we can conclude that there are also 12 hrs in a night.

And now let's find oout from God how long HE SAID HE would be in the grave:

Matt.12
[40] For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

So Jesus Christ Himself said that He would be in the grave for (3) 12hour periods of days, and (3) 12hour periods of night. He didn't say parts of days or parts of nights. He said just what He meant; 3 days and 3 nights. Wow!!!!! That equals 72 hours!

Now let's see when He Died:

Mark 15 [34] And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
[35] And some of them that stood by, when they heard it, said, Behold, he calleth Elias.
[36] And one ran and filled a spunge full of vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink, saying, Let alone; let us see whether Elias will come to take him down.
[37] And Jesus cried with a loud voice, and gave up the ghost.

The ninth hour is approx 3pm. And now let's see when He was put into the grave:

[22] And if a man have committed a sin worthy of death, and he be to be put to death, and thou hang him on a tree:
[23] His body shall not remain all night upon the tree, but thou shalt in any wise bury him that day; (for he that is hanged is accursed of God;) that thy land be not defiled, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance.

So Jesus' body had to be in the grave before the going down of the sun, at evening.

The rest is simple math and reasoning:

Dan. said He was to die in the 'Midst of the week'. So we have a Wed. burial.
The Body had to be in the grave before the going down of the sun. So now we have a Wed. evening burial.
And Jesus said that He would be in the grave for (3) 12 hr periods of days and (3) 12 hr periods of night, for a total of 72 hrs.

So from Wed. evening to Thur evening is 24hrs. From Thur evening to Fri. evening is another 24hrs. And from Fri. evening to Sat. evening is another 24hrs. Giving us a total of 72hrs, just as CHRIST said He would be.

And just as the scriptures said:

Matt.12
[8] For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.
Mark.2
[28] Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.
Luke.6
[5] And he said unto them, That the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.

There was no Sunday resurrection. Christ was long gone by the time Mary arrived. As a matter of fact it was 'yet dark' when she got there. That means there was not even a hint of the sun coming up.

And besides that you got the timing all wrong. What you call 'The Lords Supper' and the Passover are one in the same. The Passover meal was Wed. night, followed by a Sabbath day. A high Sabbath, as it is called, which was the first day of Unleaven Bread. That is why Mary could not buy the spices needed for the body. On the following day, which would be Fri. they bought spices and prepared the body and then rested again for the weekly Sat. Sabbath at sundown Fri. thru sundown Sat. Then sometime after the Sabbath and near the 1st day of the week they arrived to find the tomb empty.

Come on, my eight year old knows this!!!!!

It was the day before a 'High Sabbath', not the weekly one. Mary came to the tomb after the weekly sabbath " The first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, when it was yet dark,..." John 20:1.

You've got it right brother, keep up the good work.

MMarc

However you look at it, Jesus had to fulfill the feast according to the feast days.

Passover and Unleaven Bread lasts a total of 8 days. Jesus had to fulfill all eight days.

the OT Passover was a SHADOW of Christ,,,,,,,the LAMB OF GOD WHO TAKES AWAY THE SINS OF THE WORLD

the lambs were slain at the same moment as the Lamb was slain

jjjjjjjj

the following 7 days of UNLEAVENED BREAD is a SHADOW of our new resurrection life in Christ...........leaven = sin.........so, after we are crucified with Christ, we rise from the dead, to walk in unleavened, not-sinful , resurrection life

after we are born-again,,,,,if God finds un-forgiven sin in our lives, we are "cut off from Israel" (we lose our salvation).
