Late last year I was told I had to fill a position of someone who transferred to another organization. I'm now doing the work of 2 people. For the past 2 months it has gotten out of hand. One of the managers (a born again Christian) I work for (I have 6 managers and countless other people I work for) is always thinking up new things for me to do (like I don't have enough to do) for the deparment. He's one of those people who is always kissing up to management, is a bit of a prima donna and at times loves to embarrass me in front of people at our staff meetings (i.e did I finish this, didn't you do this, etc.). I spoke to him weeks ago about my workload and the problems I'm encountering at home. He said he understood and would work something out but I feel what I said went in one ear and came out the other. It's gotten worse with him.

I need prayer about this situation and the huge workload I have to face everyday. 10 years ago I was able to accomplish a lot but I'm not young anymore, have health problems and now have to encounter various problems at home.

rolleyes.gif Calmwaters: I pray for your workload to be reduced. I pray that Jesus shines his light of understanding to people around you. I hold you up in prayer for Jesus to hold to so above the situation that nothing will bother you.

I pray for your spirit to be uplifted and this problem at work to go away. I pray for your peace. I pray for the people around you and even the building you work in to be blessed.

In Jesus Name

Hope

First of all, there are several things lacking in your situation...

1. Chain of command?
In a normal situation there is one to report to, not six. More than one is a trap, and you become their doormat and playing ball. Bosses love to play out their differences through willing employees. Do not take the bait.

2. Normal workload.
Two jobs is impossible to do, unless your bosses failed to define the boundaries of each job (thus you make it THEIR problem, which it really is). By allowing them to use you for any kind of task, you not only give them a signal that you can not say no (which they use as invitation to give you more work), but also you hand them a stick to put you down in private or public when you fail (which you will because you are overloaded) and thus you become even more depent and docile to this abusive situation (which it is in my view).

So, I would first establish to have ONE boss and it might be a good idea to choose to talk to the nicest one (the born again Christian?).
Then negotiate an acceptable workload. Finally the other surrogate bosses will get the hint that they can no longer leech off your willingness or loyalty.
If then they persist you work for them also, just tell them to ask your boss about it and have your boss tell you which part of the current workload needs to be dropped to do the other not-boss this favor. That is simply professional attitude (for which they should give the example).

May God's wisdom be with you when you set the workload boundaries, in Jesus Name. Amen.
