Shekel, if you see this, My husband and my daughter are goin to be taking a vacation soon and want to visit Canada. My daughter and her friends joke about being adopted from "somewhere"....one of her friends says "WalMart"...mydaughter told them she was from Canada. I told them yes, I bought her on sale....60% off, couldn't pass up the deal! She has always had a fondness for the place. My husband would like to see Niagra Falls and find out what all the wonder is about so I will probably book their vacation from there.

I looked into Canada by rail....expensive and no real return planning with it.

So what should they see? They will have about 6 days.

If I was going to Canada....I'd love to visit Montreal. That would be my first pick.

Toronto looks very metropolitan and they have a fabulous mall there.

Another place to check out is Quebec.

I hope they have a great trip.

Thanks Chloe, I am sure they will....if we can ever get our passports! Trip has been put off until the paperwork comes through and then Canada will be deep in snow....they may have to wait until defrost. My husband has heard that Quebec is difficult to deal with. I heard that some business owners won't even speak to you if you can speak French, which we can't. Sort of like when we insist the Mexicans speak English......

They will go to Montreal, but then head out and back into Ontario I think. My husband wants to see New York state too, so it will be a whirwind trip in 7 days!

They arn't too much into malls and shopping, neither husband nor daughter, and mostly want to see the real Canada....it would absolutely THRILL my daughter to see a "Mounty" and to have someone say "aye?" to her just once. I hope that IS the real Canada and I haven't just embarrassed myself in front of our Canadian friends.......so hard to know until you know.

Hi, I am new to the forum and I live in Ontario. If you are visiting Ontario, Niagara Falls is a nice place to visit. If you are interested, there are a number of fun things to see and do in Toronto. You may wish to take a trip up the CN Tower. Niagara-on-the-Lake is also a really pretty and quaint place to visit, especially in the summer. I think you'll enjoy your trip.
