But while most of the people in the world were very wicked, there were some good people also, though they were very few. The best of all the men who lived at that time was a man whose name was Enoch. He was not the son of Cain, but another Enoch, who came from the family of Seth, the son of Adam, who was born after the death of Abel. While so many around Enoch were doing evil, this man did only what was right. He walked with God and God walked with him, and talked with him. And at last, when Enoch was a very old man and weary with life, God took him away from earth to heaven. He did not die, as all the people have since Adam disobeyed God, but "he was not, for God took him." This means that Enoch was taken up from earth without dying.

All the people in the time of Enoch were not shepherds. Some of them had learned how to make rude bows and arrows and axes and plows. And after a long time they melted iron, and they made knives and swords and dishes to use in their homes. They sowed grain in the fields and reaped harvests, and they planted vines and fruit trees. But God looked down on the earth and said:

"I will take away all men from the earth that I have made; because the men of the world are evil, and do evil continually."

But even in those bad times God saw one good man. His name was Noah. Noah tried to do right in the sight of God. As Enoch had walked with God, so Noah walked with God, and talked with him. And Noah had three sons; their names were Shem, and Ham, and Japheth.

God said to Noah, "The time has come when all the men and women on the earth are to be destroyed. Every one must die, because they are all wicked. But you and your family shall be saved, because you alone are trying to do right."

In a few days the rain began to fall, as it had never rained before. It seemed as though the heavens were opened to pour great floods upon the earth. The streams filled, and the rivers rose higher and higher, and the ark began to float on the water. The people left their houses and ran up to the hills; but soon the hills were covered, and all the people on them were drowned.

Some had climbed up to the tops of higher mountains, but the water rose higher and higher, until even the mountains were covered and all the people, wicked as they had been, were drowned in the great sea that now rolled over all the earth where man had lived. And all the animals, the tame animals, cattle, and sheep, and oxen, were drowned; and the wild animals, lions, and tigers, and all the rest were drowned also. Even the birds were drowned, for their nests in the trees were swept away, and there was no place where they could fly from the terrible storm. For forty days and nights the rain kept on, until there was no breath of life remaining outside of the ark.

QUESTION ?
Who was saved ?

ANSWER:
Eight people

QUESTION ?
Why did Christ remind us of the, days of Noah ?

ANSWER :

Matthew 24

37 But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark,

39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

40 Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

41 Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.

43 But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.

44 Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.

After forty days the rain stopped, but the water stayed upon the earth for more than six months, and the ark with all that were in it floated over the great sea that covered the land. Then God sent a wind to blow over the waters, and to dry them up; so by degrees the waters grew less and less. First mountains rose above the waters, then the hills rose up, and finally the ark ceased to float and lay aground on a mountain which is called Mount Ararat.

Mount Ararat (see section Names for other names) is the tallest peak in Turkey.

According to a legend, a Roman emperor ordered a number of Roman soldiers who converted to Christianity (now called ten thousand martyrs of Mount Ararat) to be crucified on Mount Ararat. http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/09746a.htm

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turkey

Turkey (Turkish: Türkiye), known officially as the Republic of Turkey (Türkiye Cumhuriyeti (help·info)), is a Eurasian country that stretches across the Anatolian peninsula in western Asia and Thrace (Rumelia) in the Balkan region of southeastern Europe. Turkey is bordered by eight countries: Bulgaria to the northwest; Greece to the west; Georgia to the northeast; Armenia, Azerbaijan (the exclave of Nakhichevan) and Iran to the east; and Iraq and Syria to the southeast. The Mediterranean Sea and Cyprus are to the south; the Aegean Sea and Archipelago are to the west; and the Black Sea is to the north. Separating Anatolia and Thrace are the Sea of Marmara and the Turkish Straits (the Bosporus and the Dardanelles), which are commonly reckoned to delineate the border between Asia and Europe, thereby making Turkey transcontinental.[5]

Eight (8) saved in the Flood . . . Mount Ararat is geography of Turkey, which borders 8 countries,
which is where the Ark of Noah landed.

And North America is home to 514 million (8 %) . . . of the world population !

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_population

The world population is the total number of living humans on Earth at a given time. As of October 2008, the world's population is estimated to be about 6.7 billion (6,700,000,000).

Asia accounts for over 60% of the world population with almost 3800 million people. The People's Republic of China and India alone comprise 20% and 17% respectively. Africa follows with 840 million people, 12% of the world population. Europe's 710 million people make up 11% of the world's population. North America is home to 514 million (8%), South America to 371 million (5.3%), and Australia 21 million.

So if 8 % of the 2008, world population is 514 million, then you have a rough idea of how few
will be saved ?

DEDUCTION FORMULA : Daniel 9:24-27 = 539 years before Messiah was born, minus ( - ) 8 %

What will the prophecy completion look like the next 25 days, 25 weeks, 25 months or

EXCERPT:

BIBLE DICTIONARY

Enoch

The seventh from Adam. Son of Jared, and father of Methuselah (Gen. 5: 18-24; Luke 3: 37; Heb. 11: 5). The biblical account of Enoch is scanty. It tells us that he was translated, but gives nothing of the details of his ministry. A quotation from his prophecy is found in Jude 1: 14. From latter-day revelation we learn much more of Enoch; specifically of his preaching, his city called Zion, his visions, and his prophecies. See D&C 107: 49-57; Moses 6 & 7. From these sources we observe that he was a preacher of righteousness and a vigorous exponent of the gospel of Jesus Christ. We also note that not only Enoch, but also his entire city was translated. We also become aware that Enoch was a much greater person, with a far more significant ministry than one would ever suppose from the Bible alone.
There are at least three apocalyptic works purporting to be books of Enoch; these are included in the category usually called “pseudepigrapha,” meaning writings under assumed names, compiled long after the time of the supposed author. On the basis of latter-day revelation it appears there are some truths contained in the apocalyptic Enoch books.

CSA,

Very good work

Much truth to your renderings

Few are truly believers today

The Lord will keep these from His coming judment against an unbelieving world by calling them home

Few will repent during the tribulation period of the Lord's coming judgment

Few mortals will survive

Few will be found believing

These will repopulate the earth as Noah and his family did

Parallel of Enoch taken-up, without death

Whats strange is you have this indepth study but you couldnt get the first most basic part of your theory or study correct. Enoch and Elijah both died. Mans doctrine has too many believing contrary to what Jesus said.

The apostle Paul mentioned the circumstances associated with Enoch in Hebrews 11:5, along with other men of faith, and then stated: "These all died in faith, not having received the promises" (Hebrews 11:13). Yes, Enoch died.

Jesus’ says in John.3:13, "no man hath ascended up to heaven", What about Enoch? Genesis 5:21-24 says that Enoch's days, alive on Earth, ended at 365 years old.

Psalms 89:48, "What man is he that liveth, and shall not see death? shall he deliver his soul from the hand of the grave? Selah."

Romans 5:12, "...so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned" and Romans 5:14, "...death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned." Are we to believe that Enoch did not sin? Are we to believe that a man who was not yet cleansed of sin by the blood of Jesus could enter heaven and dwell in God's presence?

"No man hath seen God at any time" (John 1:18)

So we can use mans doctrine and insert Enoch and Elijah in heaven, maybe they made it to the first heaven the Bible speaks of three. Again..

John 3:13, "And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven."

We can get much more indepth to open up this point if you would like. These are some basic things that should be more than adequate. Ill check back soon.

Strong's, Thayer's and Bullinger's Greek Lexicons, "translate" means "to put or place in another place, to transport, to transfer." Nowhere in the Scripture does ‘translate’ mean to make immortal!

The same Greek word is rendered "carried over" in Acts 7:16 where Jacob's body was ‘translated’ or ‘transported’ to Sychem, where he was buried! The Scriptures say Jacob was translated to the place of burial! God took Enoch and buried him somewhere so as not to be found, just as he did with the body of Moses in Deuteronomy 34:6. No man knows where Moses' or Enoch’s grave is. God hid them for reasons known only to Him.

We shouldnt make scripture what we want to believe, but rather look at it for what it really says. Lets go a little further..,

Paul wrote that the Father "hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son" (Colossians 1:13). The apostle Paul says that he was already translated, even though he was still physically alive! Although he was once part of the darkness of this world, he was translated, removed from darkness, into the light of the kingdom of God while he was physically alive!

Actually the closer parallel would be those few believing who will survive the coming tribulation and enter the Lord's millennial kingdom as mortals

The passage above is actually one of comparing the flood and the tribulation period that is coming

Both harsh judgments against human intransigence and unbelief

Both will come upon an unsuspecting world without perceptible warning

Those who are taken and those who are left is a defining random condition of the tribulation period ... both believers and unbelievers of the period will be subjected to those taken in death

Many will be taken in the judgment [killed] ..... and a few will be left

They said "where Lord?"

This question refers to the first, and the answer was "where the vultures are gathered"

This answer is a general symbol of judgment and death .... and a more focused view of Armageddon

Of those mortals left after the tribulation period the Lord will sift and those found believing will enter His earthly millennial kingdom

So, this parallel in Matthew is not really about the Lord's "harpazo" action to immortalize the church

This action will occur just before His coming judgment [hour of trial] begins

I would say the same about Enoch

We are told that He walked with the Lord and the Lord took him .... nothing else as to why, or where

Was this to protect him from the flood? .... Who knows?

So I would not necessarily consider this as a parallel to the the mystery of the "rapture" that the Lord revealed to Paul .... for the first time .... and something not known or revealed before

ANSWER : Because the Lord allowed Enoch to receive His Spirit and ascend into heaven to make intersession for the fallen angels. Enoch descended to bring the answer to the fallen angels and then ascended one final time back into heaven. He was the friend of God.

Stephen :

I found this excerpt, which connects back to your Metatron topic. I guess you already have
read this. And just for the record, I do NOT have an established opinion about the following.
Also I have a question, " Why would the angel's name be a SECRET name, in the Samson
story " ?

This Enoch, whose flesh was turned to flame, . . .

See this Enoch ^ commentary, that is what happened to the ANGEL, with a secret name, in the Samson story. Judges 13:20, . . . whose flesh was turned to flame . . .

``````````
The Babylonian Talmud mentions Metatron in two other places: Sanhedrin 38b and Avodah Zarah 3b. Yevamot 16b describes in the Amoraic period the duties of 'prince of the world' being transferred from Michael to Metatron.
Metatron is also mentioned in the Pseudepigrapha, most prominently in the Hebrew/Merkabah Book of Enoch, also called 3 Enoch or Sefer Hekhalot (Book of [the Heavenly] Palaces). The book describes the link between Enoch son of Jared (great grandfather of Noah) and his transformation into the angel Metatron. His grand title "the lesser YHVH" resurfaces here. Metatron says, "He [the Holy One]… called me, 'The lesser YHVH' in the presence of his whole household in the height, as it is written, 'My name is in him.'" (12:5, Alexander's translation). The narrator of this book, supposedly Rabbi Ishmael, tells how Metatron guided him through Heaven and explained its wonders. Here Metatron is described in two ways: as a primordial angel (9:2–13:2) and as the transformation of Enoch after he was assumed into Heaven.[3][4]
"Enoch walked with God; then he was no more, because God took him away." —Genesis 5:24 NIV.
"This Enoch, whose flesh was turned to flame, his veins to fire, his eye-lashes to flashes of lightning, his eye-balls to flaming torches, and whom God placed on a throne next to the throne of glory, received after this heavenly transformation the name Metatron." - Gershom G. Scholem, Major Trends in Jewish Mysticism (1941/1961) p. 67. Extract of 3 Enoch.
Enoch was translated (Heb. 11:5, we are translated [Col. 1:13].
Judges 13
20For it came to pass, when the flame went up toward heaven from off the altar, that the angel of the LORD ascended in the flame of the altar. And Manoah and his wife looked on it, and fell on their faces to the ground.
21But the angel of the LORD did no more appear to Manoah and to his wife. Then Manoah knew that he was an angel of the LORD.
Hbr 11:5 By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.
Hbr 11:6 But without faith [it is] impossible to please [him]: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and [that] he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Hbr 11:7 By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.
Col 1:13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated [us] into the kingdom of his dear Son:
Since we're speculating meanings about things not specifically given, and in keeping with that, I have a question: "Has Methuselah, Enoch's son, died yet?"
Isn't his name spoken of as meaning, "when he dies, the judgment will come?" Who or what, in keeping with the parallels, would the modern-day equivalent be?
Thanks.
Mike
P.S. I've edited my statement to better reflect my meaning. The facts are really written, the meanings behind them are the things I've said we're speculating. Thanks.
